Trials Evolution Gold from Ubisoft out now

Trials Evolution - Multiplayer (2)

Today sees the launch of Trials Evolution Gold Edition on PC from Ubisoft.

RedLynx’s signature franchise, the Trials series first made its mark in gaming with the 2008 release of Trials 2 SE for the PC. That breakout indie hit led to further success on the Xbox, and ever since, PC gamers have been clamouring for more Trials.

That wait is now over, as the competition begins all over again in Trials Evolution: Gold Edition, the biggest Trials game ever released with 129 tracks and mini games from Trials Evolution and Trials HD.

The game also includes all of the features of its forerunners, from the in-game editor which brought more than 300,000 tracks to the Xbox LIVE version of Trials Evolution, to the global Leader Boards and four-player Multiplayer, in both local and online modes.

Here is the launch trailer:

And here are some screenshots to keep you going:

No Octa Core for UK Samsung Galaxy S4

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will reportedly arrive in the UK with a 1.9GHz quad core chip on board, rather than the more powerful processor of other world territories. T3 is reporting that Britain will not be one of the markets to receive the 1.6GHz octa-based models of the handset at launch.

Samsung Galaxy S4

“The Samsung Galaxy S4 is equipped with a 1.9GHz Quad-core AP or a 1.6GHz Octa-core AP. The selection of AP varies by markets. In the UK the Galaxy S 4 will be available as a 4G device with a 1.9GHz Quad Core Processor,” a Samsung spokesperson told the website.

It remains unclear how the presence of the 1.6GHz octa-core processor will impact on the device’s performance, with Samsung yet to confirm whether the more-powerful model will be released in the UK at a later date.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LHv1FPd1Ec%5D
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S4 at a press conference last week, confirming that the smartphone will run the latest Android 4.2.2 operating system and come equipped with innovative software features, such as eye control and a dual camera mode.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will launch in the UK on April 26.

HTC One Delayed By Supply Problems

HTC has been forced to delay the release of its new flagship HTC One smartphone due to reported problems sourcing components for the device.

Pre-orders of the Android phone, announced on 19th February, have been pushed back to late March at the earliest, and could slip into early April in some markets.

HTC One_B&W

The Wall Street Journal claims that HTC has problems throughout its supply chain, with claims that suppliers have lost faith in the firm after several lean years.

An anonymous source told the journal that HTC has had particular trouble securing components for the HTC One’s unique ‘ultrapixel’ camera, as it is no longer considered “a tier-one customer” by suppliers.

The firm is also understood to have struggled sourcing the phone’s sculpted metal casing.

The source added: “The company has a problem managing its component suppliers as it has changed its order forecasts drastically and frequently following last year’s unexpected slump in shipments.”

Benjamin Ho, the HTC chief marketing officer, said in a statement that the firm was “working tirelessly with all of our channel partners to ensure that we can fulfil as many [HTC One] orders as possible”.

He added: “We will start fulfilling pre-orders by the end of March in certain markets and will roll out to more markets as we approach April.”

HTC saw its revenues fall 62% in the final quarter of 2012, and the Taiwanese firm has tried unsuccessfully over the last few years to keep pace with big rivals Samsung and Apple.

The Wall Street Journal suggested that HTC boss Peter Chou may have to step down if the HTC One is not a success, and this delay could prove costly in that regard.
