Black Desert on Xbox One Receives ‘Ninja’ Class with New Update

0

Pearl Abyss revealed that the Ninja character class is now available as a free update for Black Desert on Xbox One. A specialist in close-quarters combat, the Ninja makes his grand entrance today alongside two new guild bosses and Marni Stones, an item to aid endgame levelling.

The Ninja is a high-skill fighter that excels in agility, using dashes, aerial skills and teleportation to rapidly close the distance to enemies. With the ability to conceal his presence, the Ninja can lie in wait before delivering precise, deadly strikes against his opponent. Armed with stun and debuff techniques, the Ninja can easily gain the upper hand in combat.

For Adventurers interested in a challenging fight, two new guild bosses have been added – the electrifying Ancient Puturum in Valencia and the ghastly Muskan of Madness in Serendia. The Ancient Puturum attacks by shooting out electric currents from its body and can regain HP by soaring into the sky to gather energy. For those seeking a more grounded fight, the Muskan of Madness will require substantial teamwork and clever strategies to be defeated. Players who successfully conquer either guild boss can receive powerful new items and equipment.

To aid in boosting players’ leveling ability after Level 57, Marni Stones have been added. By purchasing Marni Stones for each monster type and achieving specific bounties, Adventurers can turn in these stones to gain more experience!

Sith Trooper from Episode IX Revealed ahead of SDCC 2019

At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Lucasfilm will celebrate the history of stormtrooper design — and the future.

Fans attending the mega pop-culture event (July 18-21) will be treated to a new exhibit of trooper armor from across the Star Wars saga, including a first look at the next evolution in Imperial/First Order soldiers: the “Sith trooper” from the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It’s a modern and more menacing look befitting its namesake.

“It has some really unique aesthetics to it,” says Madlyn Burkert, Lucasfilm archivist, who is co-producing the exhibit. “And it has some subtle ties to previous stormtrooper designs, which I think fans will enjoy discovering.” There will be a selection of new “Early Release Edition” Sith trooper products debuting at SDCC 2019.

A total of nine different costumes, all screen-used, will be on display at the Lucasfilm pavilion (booth #2913): Imperial stormtrooper, TIE pilot, death trooper, shoretrooper, biker scout, First Order stormtrooper, First Order TIE pilot, Captain Phasma, and Sith trooper. Burkert has ordered four new custom mannequins created specifically for stormtroopers.

“Most mannequins are made for fashion,” she says with a laugh. “With our armor, we need a different pose.” Appropriately, the Lucasfilm pavilion will have a visual Death Star theme, and the stormtrooper exhibit promises even more surprises, including a photography and video component, the latter of which will feature Star Wars creators such as concept designer Doug Chiang.

While Lucasfilm’s previous costume exhibits have largely centered around film releases, this year the goal was to celebrate both The Rise of Skywalker and the Star Wars saga as a whole. The stormtrooper was a natural focal point to accomplish this. “The stormtrooper itself is one of the most iconic parts of Star Wars,” says Este Meza, Lucasfilm’s senior manager of events. “Seeing all of the pieces of armor together is very powerful.”

“We’re really excited to show this design history,” Burkert says. “It takes us from the beginnings of Star Wars and leads us right to the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.”

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is due to be released in Cinemas on December 20, 2019.

Fortune and Glory July Update for Dauntless Detailed

0

Phoenix Labs, an independent game studio built on the foundation of delivering AAA experiences for players to enjoy together, today revealed details on the first expansive content update for their free-to-play co-op action RPG Dauntless. Titled “Fortune & Glory,” the update will arrive July 16 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Epic Games store as a free update, bringing with it the challenging Trials experience, a new Hunt Pass, new cosmetic rewards and more.

Strengthened by “One Dauntless,” the cross-play and cross-progression system supported across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Epic Games store, Dauntless has surpassed 12 million players, becoming the fastest growing hunting action game of all time.

“Fortune & Glory” provides Slayers with a formidable new challenge in the form of Trials. The Trials experience is a new gameplay offering from Lady Luck, an enigmatic figure who arrives in Ramsgate with a mysterious island in tow. Trials will pit adventurous Slayers against dangerous, modified Behemoths and all-new environmental challenges, like terrain-transforming pests. With the clock ticking through each hunt, it will be up to Trials challengers to prove that they can execute under pressure. Trials are split into two difficulty levels: “Normal” and “Dauntless.” Completing “Normal” difficulty Trials nets Slayers with Steel Marks, used to purchase unique rewards such as weapon mods and alternate special attacks, while completing “Dauntless” difficulty Trials rewards Slayers with Gilded Marks: currency used to purchase exclusive cosmetic rewards that showcase more advanced accomplishments. Both Steel and Gilded Marks are exclusive to Lady Luck’s shop, and can only be earned through Trials.

Slayers can see how they stack up to Trials competition by viewing the Wall of Champions outside Lady Luck’s shop in Ramsgate. The wall displays a list of the top performers in both solo and group hunts. And because Trials rotate on a weekly basis, there’s always a chance for Slayers to see new names – or even their own – on the wall.

“Fortune & Glory” marks the beginning of the “High Skies” season in Dauntless. It will include two consecutive Hunt Passes complete with new and stylish content. The first Hunt Pass is marked by a swashbuckling pirate theme, and Slayers will quickly familiarize themselves with Lady Luck and her corsair fleet. “Fortune & Glory” offers 50 levels of content to unlock and numerous cosmetic and consumable rewards to earn. Slayers can look forward to more adventures and content as the “High Skies” season continues later this summer.
