New Online Casinos In 2023 You Should Pay Attention To

0

The gambling business is adapting to the digital era like the rest of society. Newly formed casinos, both virtual and brick-and-mortar, spring up every year. There will likely be a slew of advanced gambling establishments opening in 2023. However, it is fair to wonder whether these emerging hosts can be trusted. What are the advantages of using the newest online casinos, specifically? Let’s go into the paragraphs below and see what these entertainment houses have to offer.

Are These Hosts Legit Or Not?

When it comes to brand-new gambling establishments, gamers often have reservations about their reliability. It’s crucial to remember that not all casinos are shady, however. Most of them are licensed and reputable. The regulator ensures they protect player data and funds. And this is of huge importance for many players. It is understandable having in mind that hackers are all over the internet nowadays. Hosts must also support responsible gaming. Thus, players may feel safe checking out a new licensed casino. It’s not an easy choice, but it is worth trying. And why is that the case? Because having fun and enjoying the best activities is undoubtedly!

What Are The Positives Of Participating At The Latest Online Casinos?

There are several advantages to playing at upcoming online casinos. Naturally, each player has their preferences and something that suits him more. But in the end, having satisfying clients is the most important thing for the hosts. Some positives they can expect are listed below:

●     Bonuses

One of the main reasons why you should try out the newest online casinos is to take advantage of the fresh bonuses and promotions they provide. To draw in customers, it’s common practice for emerging houses to provide enticing incentives and promotions. Free spins, deposit matching, and cashback deals are all examples of possible incentives and promotions.

●     Games

The latest games are available more often at new online casinos. Leading gaming studios may create them, and users will get access to the latest releases. It’s interesting and invigorating to try out the advanced ones. Live dealer activities have grown in popularity over the last several years, and many fresh digital houses now offer them. A more realistic atmosphere is created by participating in these kinds of events. Some of the houses are introducing skill-based events, which are more strategy and skill-intensive than the standard casino events. Players who are looking for a challenge beyond pure chance could like these games better.

●     Technology

Modern internet casinos use cutting-edge technology to enhance gameplay. Most of these sites are mobile-friendly, so players may play their favorite games anywhere. New hosts provide the fastest and safest deposit and withdrawal alternatives.

●     The Use Of VR

Some modern online casinos are capitalizing on the growing popularity of virtual reality technology by including VR games in their offerings. They provide players a chance to escape into another world entirely.

●     Mobile Gaming

New casino sites 2023 will likely prioritize a polished mobile gaming experience in response to rising demand for this format. They might provide mobile-friendly websites or dedicated mobile apps with the same functionality as their desktop equivalents. Mobile gambling lets players enjoy their favorite casino games on the go. This is a feature that it’s not available everywhere. Even though technology rapidly grows in every sector, having such a luxury is a true blessing. And participants know to recognize and appreciate it.

●     Payment In Cryptocurrency

A lot of people are interested in playing at electronic wagering sites that take Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies as they gain popularity. To meet this demand, there is a possibility that New casino sites 2023 will begin to accept cryptocurrency payments. Players that place a high priority on anonymity and privacy might want to make payments using cryptocurrencies.

●     Gamification

This year, upcoming online casinos should begin implementing gamification into their games since it is a growing trend in the gambling business. To keep clients engaged, it will be necessary to implement systems of rewards and challenges. Gamification has the potential to enhance the game experience for players by making it more exciting and rewarding for them.

●     Networked Playing

New electronic casinos in 2023 should emphasize delivering a social gaming experience for players since this is another trend that is gaining popularity. In these types of apps, people can collaborate on games or compete against one another. Gamers that like interacting with others while playing could potentially find this a more enjoyable option.

Conclusion

When fresh wagering websites open in 2023, the gaming market is likely to undergo significant shifts. Houses that have been granted licenses by the appropriate authorities are guaranteed to be fair and secure for players. You may find bigger bonuses and promotions, more recent games, and a more streamlined interface at the upcoming digital casinos.

Review: Beyond Contact

Hey there, fellow gamers! Buckle up and get ready for another wild ride through space, as we dive into the world of “Beyond Contact,” a sci-fi survival crafting game that’s packed with surprises, challenges, and a whole lot of space-age activities.

Don’t worry, the aliens in the back are TOTALLY friendly!

First, let me paint you a picture of the plot: the year is 2766, and you’re Quinn Hicks, an elite Space Corps member with a vital mission to save the dying planet of Ketern. With its dynamic biomes, treacherous hazards, and mysterious energy source, you’ll be at the edge of your seat as you fight to save an entire civilization from annihilation.

Now, let’s talk modes! Beyond Contact offers both a narrative-driven Story Mode and an open-ended Conquest Mode, catering to players who crave a deep, immersive experience, as well as those who prefer endless base-building and epic battles against the fearsome Corrupted hordes. Co-op fans fear not! The game also features a cooperative mode, where teamwork and shared objectives reign supreme.

The gameplay, as you may have guessed, revolves around survival. Exploration, discovery, and resource management are key as you traverse the various alien landscapes, encountering bizarre creatures and peculiar plants. It’s all about adapting and overcoming, with a research and crafting system that lets you turn scavenged materials into essential tools, weapons, and structures.

As for farming and base-building, Beyond Contact also has that too. You can create genetically modified crops, construct farms within protective habitats, and optimize yields to ensure your survival in a brutal world. The Habitat system takes base-building to a whole new level, allowing you to create the ultimate cosmic sanctuary.

I have way too many ingredients.

One aspect of the game that truly stands out is its art style, which draws inspiration from pulp sci-fi comics. This unique aesthetic adds a touch of nostalgia and character to the experience, providing a visual treat for players. From the 2D comic book style for the cut scenes and the 3D models for the survival/exploration gameplay, it was actually a delight to witness. The developers obviously put a lot of hard work into the world’s details as everything seems so vibrant.

Like… I know they’re about to crash, but look at how awesome this seems!

Now, let’s get personal – *my* honest opinion on Beyond Contact. I must admit, even though the story was intriguing, the gameplay left me wanting more. I found myself lost a few times (even with a map), and the survival mechanics felt somewhat simplistic. It’s true that the grinding can get tedious, and the formula might seem familiar to survival game veterans. It got a bit grindy and tedious at times, especially during the farming portion where you would have to wait a certain amount of time to complete a project. However, I have to give credit where it’s due – the controls were easy to understand, and the game could be an excellent introduction for newcomers to the genre. Plus, I still can’t get over the art style.

Yeah… There’s a lot going on on this map.

In conclusion, Beyond Contact may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it has plenty to offer for those who are new to survival games or simply looking for a sci-fi adventure with a distinctive visual twist. If you’re new to survival games or just love the sci-fi aesthetic, it’s definitely worth a shot. But for survival game veterans, it might feel a bit too simple or uninteresting. However, I still encourage others to try Beyond Contact for themselves and see what they think about it. Happy gaming!

Review: TRON Identity

Disney’s TRON has become something of a cult classic in decades since its release in 1982, so much so that Disney is clearly still interested in seeing if there is any more cash to milk from this neon-lit cow.

In fact, for such a flash in the pan, Disney has released a lot more TRON media than you might think.

Two films, with one more apparently still in the works, although I doubt that ever sees the light of day, twelve games, to say nothing of TRON-related things appearing in other Disney titles, one short film, one tv series, a whole series of novels, several comic runs, and probably much more.

TRON Identity is just the latest product to add to the pile. A visual novel developed by Mike Bithell Games, sees players take on the role of Query a DoT (Disciple of TRON), tasked with uncovering the truth regarding an explosion. In true visual novel style, the plot moves along according to your choices in conversations with a small cast of characters.

The world is every inch the TRON I remember, dark and broody with the only light coming from incandescent neon strips decorating every surface. It is a fantastic backdrop for this sort of noir detective tale. Couple that with a pulsing synth soundtrack and you are fully immersed in The Grid.

Each static image accompanying the dialogue feels straight out of a story-board meeting. The light, tones, and sound all combine into a feast for the senses.

However, for me, this is as far as the interest went. What follows is a fairly bland story, you journey between a small number of locales, asking questions of programmes you find there. Making choices that you are unsure of their impact on the wider scope of the narrative. Does it matter that I annoyed 50% of the people I encountered, or is that the optimum strategy for the game?

This quandary might be compelling in a game with a more engaging story to tell, but I found myself uninterested in the pseudo-religious war between users and programmes, the debate surrounding the freedom of information, and just who caused the explosion.

The other issue I have with TRON Identity is the length of the game. You can crank out a single playthrough in around an hour. Perhaps this, once again, is to encourage multiple playthroughs, choosing different options in order to see various paths, but instead, it just feels empty and shallow.

Additionally, the game attempts to give players a break from reading by incorporating a mini-game into the story. The programmes you encounter seem to be suffering from a form of memory loss and by defragging their ID discs, you can restore their cognitive functions. A nice idea in truth but lacking in execution, as the mini-game in question is merely a matching exercise that, whilst somewhat complex at times, can just be skipped with no consequence. In a game driven by narrative choices, this strikes me as odd.

Maybe TRON diehards will get more out of Identity than I did. But to me, TRON Identity feels a lot like most TRON media: stale and running out of ideas.

The Pros and Cons of Using Bitcoin in Online Casinos

0

To say that Bitcoin is essential in today’s world is an understatement. Since emerging in 2009, Bitcoin has taken the digital world by storm. Online casino games are one of the digital realms in which Bitcoin has gradually secured a foothold.

As with anything in life, there are benefits and drawbacks. Here is a close look at the pros and cons of using Bitcoin in online casino games.

Pros of Using Bitcoin in Online Casino Gaming

Using Bitcoin in online gaming offers several key benefits. Probably the most recognized is its ability to offer direct payments, but there are others, as well.

Decentralization

Bitcoin is built on a decentralized platform known as the blockchain. As a result, no one “owns” physical Bitcoins, and no central authorities can confiscate Bitcoin token ownership. Instead, Bitcoin is produced through a process called “mining.”

When users mine Bitcoin, they become the rightful owners. Similarly, transferring ownership permits recipients to have Bitcoin tokens under their control rightfully.

Security

Bitcoin was born to deliver security. Data is more secure since Bitcoin transactions do not require exchanging personal information. This characteristic means that Bitcoin users can protect themselves from hacks and identity theft. However, once a transaction has been completed, it cannot be reversed. This feature is by design to ensure security and transparency.

Privacy

Since no personal information is exchanged, users can ensure their privacy. This is particularly important to online casino players and sports bettors. Nevertheless, the blockchain provides full transparency since multiple parties must verify transactions.

Speed

Unlike traditional payment methods, Bitcoin offers fast transactions that ensure payments are processed quickly. This feature is desirable to online casino players. In addition, reducing withdrawal times makes Bitcoin a beneficial payment method.

Low or No Transaction Fees

Unlike most payment processors, Bitcoin comes with low or no transactions since there are no third-party processors. However, fees may be incurred when converting Bitcoin into fiat currencies such as US dollars.

Inflation Concerns

Bitcoin does not respond to inflation like traditional currencies. Governments cannot artificially create Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency). Therefore, inflation does not diminish Bitcoin’s purchasing power.

Taxation

Bitcoin is not subject to taxes like other types of currency. Since Bitcoin is not technically money, the government cannot tax it. Nevertheless, it is worth checking local state laws to verify specific taxation rules applying to Bitcoin transactions and winnings.

Cons of Using Bitcoin in Online Casino Gaming

The flip side to using Bitcoin in online casino gaming includes the following points:

Volatility

While Bitcoin does not respond to inflation as traditional currencies do, it is subject to wild fluctuations in its valuation. As a result, volatility affects Bitcoin holders when they convert it into other currencies. Therefore, a good rule of thumb is to hold Bitcoin until price fluctuations reach acceptable levels.

Evolution

Bitcoin is by no means perfect. It is still a work in progress. In particular, blockchain technology undergoes continuous improvement as it is refined and issues are resolved. Therefore, users can expect some growing pains as the technology develops. For instance, Bitcoin has experienced scalability issues limiting its widespread use across multiple industries.

Limited Use

Despite Bitcoin’s success and popularity, its use is still relatively limited. This is because not all businesses accept Bitcoin as a payment method. Nevertheless, the online casino industry is quickly catching on. Nowadays, more and more casinos have begun accepting Bitcoin as a payment method.

Anonymity

Bitcoin’s privacy measures can lead to criminal activity. Online casinos have been careful to avoid becoming victims of fraudulent activities by cybercriminals. However, expect online casinos to take the necessary precautions to ensure players’ security.

The Final Word

Bitcoin has gained a significant presence in the casino gaming industry. Despite Bitcoin’s drawbacks, its upside provides online casinos and players several key benefits. That is why Bitcoin is here to stay.

Bitcoin was created for the digital world. As the world adapts, Bitcoin’s role will only become more prominent. If there was ever a time to get on board with Bitcoin, it is now.

Allelujah Movie Review

0

Allelujah takes you on a trip to see how nurse Jennifer Saunders tends to A-listers in Richard Eyre’s version of a 2018 play centered around a struggling geriatric hospital. It’s a movie to watch at the cinemas this March if you’re not exploring Betfair on betinasia.com/betfair-exchange/.

This charming and astute ensemble comedy was adapted by screenwriter Heidi Thomas from Alan Bennett’s much-lauded 2018 stage play. Bethlehem Hospital is the iconic institution that gave rise to the word “bedlam,” Its name has been reapplied without obvious irony to a fictional geriatric hospital in Yorkshire. Richard Eyre is a skilled director, as you’ll see when you watch this movie.

The Plot

The film is primarily set in the Shirley Bassey ward of “Beth,” a tiny community centre that has received celebrity gifts and is named in their honor. However, its closure is threatened by hard-nosed Whitehall bean counters who prefer large, efficient hospitals or flashy “centers of excellence” with quantifiable outcomes.

Despite its lack of glitz and glamour, providing care for the elderly includes dealing with vulnerable people who are only going in one direction. Treating them requires vital acts of kindness and compassion that have nothing to do with profit.

Colin (Russell Tovey), a consultant for the Department of Health who shares similar biases, must visit his dying ex-miner father, Joe (David Bradley), at the Beth. Joe is a cranky old man who has not been able to accept his son’s sexual orientation. It’s not hard to see that Colin’s initial, loud loyalty to the government line is very broad and that his attitude toward the hospital and his father is unlikely to improve soon.

Have You Seen The Stage Play?

If you had seen this movie as a stage play, you’ll most likely have enjoyed Colin’s character better, as the emotions and reactions were more realistic than what we now have on screen. Other reviews might even conclude that Colin might not have been the right cast for the role.

Mary, played by Judi Dench, is another ward resident who is more interested in the readers’ revealing scribbles in the margins of the page than in the books themselves. Derek Jacobi’s Ambrose, a snobby ex-teacher who likes the archaic term “schoolmaster,” is more genuinely literary; he mulls over Charles Causley’s poem titled Ten Types of Hospital Visitors.

Desperate to avoid paying the inheritance tax, Julia McKenzie’s daughter and son-in-law will do anything to keep her alive for a few more months. Nurse Pinkney, played by Jesse Akele, is an eternal optimist. Dr. Valentine, played by Bally Gill, is matched by Sister Gilpin, played by Jennifer Saunders, a strong, no-nonsense nurse who keeps everything running smoothly.

It might be a little unbearably cheesy to picture a quartet of veteran British character actors (Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay, Pauline Collins, and Michael Gambon) working together in a care setting. Also, I must admit that it brings back memories of Dustin Hoffman’s insufferably patronizing 2012 film Quartet.

Allelujah will be showing in London Cinemas from March 25th to 31st.

Review: Shadows of Doubt

The life of a detective isn’t easy! Unfortunately, your world is sinister, eerie, and full of questionable characters. However, with good fortune and hard work, you can change society and make a difference. This is the ethos behind Shadows of Doubt. It is a grim title that is filled with danger, criminals, and a never-ending stream of clues.

Developed by ColePowered Games and published by Fireshine Games, this is a tough detective simulation title. What’s more, the dark pixelated world, gruesome undertones, and cruel surroundings keep you on your toes. As such, you can never relax as you try to stay hidden in the shadows.

Shadows of Doubt has some interesting characters.
A grim city that is full of interesting characters.

Shadows of Doubt sets the scene perfectly.

A classic story forms the gritty and compelling backbone of each adventure. A serial killer has struck, and it is your responsibility to solve the crime. However, in a world that is full of despair and fear, people are not willing to talk. That is, of course, unless you are willing to do something in return. Yet, with time ticking, and the killer sure to strike again, you must work hard to reprimand this psycho.

Set in a procedurally generated world, you take the role of a private intelligence investigator. This isn’t a job for the faint of heart, as each crime can be cruel, gruesome, and tough to solve. However, with technology on your side, a methodical mind, and the ability to map each case, you’ll put an end to the unrelenting crime spree.

With each of these elements put in place, Shadows of Doubt sets the scene perfectly. Moreover, an incredible tutorial helps you on your way to what would otherwise be a confusing occasion. Subsequently, though there is a lot to learn and plenty to do, you feel in control as you explore this vast, but horrific, alternative 1980s reality.

So many clues.

Who’d have thought the life of a detective would be so bloody detailed? Every minor element must be considered and double-checked. What’s more, you must connect the dots, and point the finger to solve each crime. By using your fingerprint tool, or searching each location, you’ll identify key components in each objective.

Whether you are investigating a crime scene, exploring a shop, trespassing into someone’s home, or stealing resources, you must think logically. Accordingly, whenever you are breaking the law (for the greater good, of course), you cannot get caught. Therefore, you must switch off cameras, remove suspecting individuals, break into houses, and stay in the shadows.

The denizens of this grim industrial world are suspicious and rarely helpful. Yet, by asking open questions, hacking their computer consoles, or stalking them from afar, you’ll get the information you need. Yet, occasionally, things go south, and violence is the only cure. If an individual wants to report your illicit activity, then what are you going to do? You don’t want to get caught doing your secret work, so a swift punch to the chops normally solves the issue.

The clue board is an essential tool.
Find the clues and piece together the crime.

The world of Shadows of Doubt is alive.

For all of its complexities, Shadows of Doubt is pretty simple. Effectively, you are tasked with finding every clue to resolve each job you undertake. By piecing together the information, you can solve the crime and get paid. How you gather your clues is up to you, and who you question or hurt is your choice.

What impressed me most, though, was how alive every unique city was. With hundreds of citizens, masses of properties, plenty of vehicles, and much more, the world is alive. Furthermore, you are free to explore as you wish! Locked doors, cabinets, or chests can’t stop you as you use hair slides and paper clips to unlock them. Alternatively, get what you want by hacking devices, using CCTV, or hunting through the rubbish.

It was incredible that every item or person could make or break each case you were tackling. On top of this, there is the risk of getting caught, being attacked, or being fined for your “crimes”. Therefore, stealth is your best friend in this seedy and excellent detective title.

Shadows of Doubt is a pixelated dream.

Shadows of Doubt is set in a grand but drab Voxel world. This pixelated art style is divisive, but I adored its sharp shapes, earthy colours, and oppressive nature. Additionally, the use of fog and rain added to the dramatic setting. Furthermore, I loved the roar of each bin fire, the unique character models, and the selection of shops, houses, and apartments that can be explored. Alongside this, the amazing UI and the incredible clue board make solving each crime just a little easier.

The oppressive action is supported by a dramatic soundtrack. I cherished the blend of songs, the gritty sound effects, and the environmental noises. Whether it was rain pounding the streets, a car rolling by, or the disgruntled sound of a citizen, it added to the gameplay. On top of this, the tapping noises on each keyboard, or the zing of your fingerprint tool, were fantastic.

Will the rain ever stop?
Don’t let the never-ending rain get you down.

A steep learning curve.

Unsurprisingly, Shadows of Doubt has a steep learning curve. With many investigative layers to try out, you’ll be tested during the tutorial stages. However, once you understand the finer points, you’ll love the exploration elements, the seedy investigatory moments, and the tools at your disposal. Sadly, though, this isn’t optimised for Steam Deck. If the developers were to push this platform, then I believe it would work extremely well.

This game is massive! Furthermore, the procedurally generated assets and the freedom to explore are wonderful. As a consequence, it has masses of replay value and longevity. What’s more, you are free to explore each vast map however you choose. Therefore, you can lose yourself for hours in this sinister sci-fi world.

Shadows of Doubt is incredible.

I’ve played some great indie games in my time. Yet, Shadows of Doubt outshines them all. Thanks to its creepy world, suspicious denizens, and open gameplay, it is incredible. Subsequently, it is full of surprises, weird people, and horrendous crimes. As such, you don’t want to miss your chance to clean the streets of criminal scum. I loved this excellent and much-anticipated title and I recommend that you buy it here! Search for clues, piece together the evidence, and save the day.

Review: Rusted Moss

The moment that Rusted Moss clicked for me came about halfway through. I had been throwing myself at a particularly difficult platforming section for the last thirty minutes and my sanity was hanging on by a thread. The clock was ticking closer to the end of the night and I had work in the morning. As I dropped down into a pit of death yet again, I made the decision that no matter the time, I would beat this. It didn’t matter how late it got. I would win.

I don’t willingly suffer sleep deprivation for many games but Rusted Moss hits on that particular level of difficulty that keeps you coming back. You may end up grinding your teeth into dust but you’ll still keep loading it up. It’s beautiful, it’s infuriating and it’s fun. While there are a few missteps here and there, one of which does threaten to tip the frustration too far, Rusted Moss is a wonderfully put together game, which has no doubt shaved years off my life.

Rusted Moss - Swinging

Push Me, Pull Me

Rusted Moss is a metroidvania but, unusually, doesn’t have much in the way of movement upgrades. Instead, it takes one single mechanic and pushes it as far as it can possibly go. The mechanic in question is a grappling hook, which can cling to mossy areas of the map. Well, technically it’s a little Fae blob called Puck that grapples for you, but that’s not important right now. Rusted Moss endeavours to make its physics as realistic as possible, so things like momentum come into play. The start of your swing is often as important as the end as Rusted Moss pulls no punches. You time things perfectly or you die. Guess whose timing often wasn’t up to par?

It’s where most of Rusted Moss‘s high difficulty comes from and, to be honest, I’m in two minds about it. On the one hand, it makes for some brilliant movement puzzles. There’s often the need to thread a very fine needle and the lack of movement upgrades means that the only obstacle is your own skill. It created a pleasing progression, as new areas opened up due to me becoming more comfortable with the mechanics rather than just adding a new tool to my belt. What’s more, there are a handful of optional challenges throughout that push the mechanics to their absolute max and conquering these was quite the endorphin rush.

However, any time you start adding realistic physics into video games, you’re going to get one unpleasant side-effect: unpredictability. Throwing grapples out is often a snap decision and in those moments it’s not always clear if you’re going to swing across a chasm or faceplant into spikey death at the bottom of it. It’s compounded by the fact that you can only swing once before landing, so you can’t course correct. All this makes backtracking through levels – a necessity of the genre mind you – very frustrating, as you have to solve all the movement puzzles many times over. In harder zones, my head was never very far from slamming into my desk.

The End Of The World As We Know It

Still, if you can penetrate through this wall of frustration, then Rusted Moss has a lot to give. For one thing, it looks gorgeous. The pixel art has an old-school, crunchy look to it, which is coupled with some wonderful animation. From the fairly downtrodden feel of the starting flatlands, we soon move on to the brighter areas. The mountainside in particular looks wonderful. Each area has a distinct feel that sets it apart. Though, unfortunately, this hasn’t extended to the enemies. Most are robots, which are all variations on rust-coloured circles, while others are just indistinct blobs. A little disappointing, given the scenery.

Still, the rusting machines do tie in nicely with the overall plot. There’s a strong sense of decay and impending inevitability running through everything. Humanity is desperately trying to keep the Age of Man going, while the Fae are waiting in the background, checking their watches, and waiting for their turn to take over. Unusually, we don’t play as the desperate humans. Instead, we’re a changeling known as Fern, who recently betrayed a group of witches in order to usher in the Age of Fae. She’s then pitted against these witches to recover pieces of Titania, the leader of the Fae. It’s a nice story, well told in writing terms but also competently infused throughout the world. Even the brighter regions give off an air that everything is gradually falling prey to entropy.

Still, not everyone is happy about the Fae knocking on the door, which brings us to the combat. It’s… okay. If pushed to describe it in one word, I’d probably go with ‘competent’. Fine praise, maybe, but it’s only ever going to play second fiddle to the grappling. It’s gun-based, usually concerned with holding down the mouse and aiming as best you can. Boss fights prefer to play up the movement instead, especially when they bring in things like poison, so the actual combat fades into the background. It’s not bad, exactly, it’s just not explored in any significant way. There are a handful of weapons you can collect, which are fairly run-of-the-mill, and enemies die quickly, bar a few exceptions. It mainly exists to spice up the grappling element.

Rusted Moss - Atmosphere

Tough Love

All of this leads me to a single conclusion: Rusted Moss is aimed at a specific type of person. Someone who relishes high difficulty ceilings, where all the tools to smash through are given to them early. I’m not sure that person is me, but the glimpses into that world that Rusted Moss gave me were intriguing. I’ve never had such ups and downs with a game before. From gnashing my teeth, longing for them to give Fern a different death sound, to punching the air as I successfully made a tough swing. Rusted Moss sits on a knife edge of frustration. If its puzzles weren’t so competently made; if it didn’t look or sound so nice; if the plot wasn’t handled well, I feel like I would’ve just closed it and called it a day.

Instead, Rusted Moss brought me back from the brink time and again. By deliberately paring back the movement powers, Rusted Moss has made your own skill the barrier to progress. Bar the aforementioned physics quirks, the deaths are usually your own fault, which forces it to stay with you. It gives you something to prove. Rusted Moss makes few apologies for its difficulty and doesn’t hold your hand. As a result, it may rebuff some people but if you take the time to get into the right headspace, Rusted Moss will give you as much joy as it does pain.

The Rise of Trading Bots and Their Impact on the Market

0

Trading bots, or computer programs designed to automate the process of buying and selling assets on financial markets, have become increasingly popular in recent years. While the exact percentage of trades executed by algorithms varies depending on the market, the rise of trading bots is changing the face of financial markets. Trading bots have the ability to operate at speeds far beyond those of human traders, process vast amounts of data in real-time, and analyse market trends to identify opportunities for profit. They can also operate around the clock, without the need for breaks or sleep, giving investors a competitive edge. Despite the potential risks associated with trading bots, many investors see them as a valuable tool for maximising profits.

The Use of Trading Bots in Online Trading

Online platforms have made it easier than ever for traders to access a wealth of market data and execute trades from anywhere in the world. With the vast amount of market data available to traders, it’s important to have reliable indicators that can provide valuable insights into market trends. One such indicator that has become increasingly important in modern-day trading is the DXY, or US Dollar Index. This measures the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of other currencies and is widely used by traders as a gauge of market sentiment and a predictor of global economic trends.

Gone are the days of having to study and monitor the US Dollar Index as you can now program trading bots to monitor the DXY and execute trades based on changes in its value, making it an important tool for maximising profits in the financial markets.

Advantages

One of the primary advantages of trading bots is their capacity to work at much faster rates than human traders. They can analyze market trends by processing massive volumes of data in real time and identifying opportunities for profit. This means that they can execute trades much faster and more accurately than humans, which can lead to significant gains for investors.

Another advantage of trading bots is their ability to operate continuously. This means that they can take advantage of market opportunities that may arise outside of regular trading hours, providing investors with a strategic advantages over competitors. Trading bots can also monitor multiple markets and assets simultaneously, which would be impossible for a human trader to do manually.

Concerns

Despite these advantages, some experts have raised concerns about the potential risks associated with trading bots. One concern is that they could exacerbate market volatility by reacting to market events in a way that amplifies their impact. For example, if a trading bot were programmed to sell a particular asset in response to a drop in its value, this could trigger a cascade of further selling as other bots respond to the same market signal.

Another concern is that trading bots could be vulnerable to errors or bugs that could lead to unexpected losses. In some cases, poorly designed or malfunctioning trading bots have been blamed for large-scale market disruptions, such as the 2010 “flash crash” in which the US stock market experienced a sudden and dramatic drop in value.

Despite these risks, many investors see trading bots as a powerful method for increasing revenues in the financial markets. As the technology behind these bots continues to improve, it’s likely that they will become even more prevalent in the years ahead. Indeed, some experts predict that trading bots could eventually become so advanced that they are able to operate autonomously, without any human intervention.

A larger group means less chance of getting separated, and the creepy sounds become less scary due to the loud noises of your friends. Having at least one brave person in the group can make the experience less scary.

Keep A Clear Head

It’s important to remind yourself that it’s only a game and try to keep a small voice in the back of your mind that constantly reassures you. There will be moments when you’ll genuinely feel scared because experts design these games to elicit maximum fear. They know exactly how to push the buttons of your subconscious for maximum effect. If someone in the group has a panic attack, it can add to the overall stress that the team is feeling.

Work Together

In a scary escape room, working as a team is crucial. Communicating with your team members and collaborating to solve the puzzles is important.

Your Lead Can Come From Hidden Clues

Although clues are given before the game begins, it’s important to keep your ears open during the game because the sounds that occur can sometimes lead you to the next clue. The more alert and attentive you are, the easier to win the game.

Be Prepared For Some Typical Scares

The most effective way to scare someone is through gradually increasing tension, which requires patience and persistence. However, some techniques can achieve a similar effect in a shorter time, such as using jump scares, creepy sounds, flickering lights, and disturbing props. Another effective technique is to separate group members, as it is easier to terrify a person when alone.

Make Sure To Put On Comfortable Clothing And Shoes

It’s important to wear comfortable clothing and shoes when going to a scary escape room, as some rooms might require crawling and running. Be prepared to get a little dirty, as there are situations where fake blood or other substances might get on your clothes and shoes.

Armed with these tips, you’ll be able to overcome your fears and enjoy the excitement of a scary escape room. So, gather your most courageous friends and prepare for an unforgettable adventure that will get your heart racing.

Review: Chef Life A Restaurant Simulator

0

Chef Life is the newest in a long line of restaurant simulation games, but this one is actually endorsed by the Michelin food guide! Most restaurant simulation and tycoon games tend to focus on the business side of running a restaurant, while keeping the cooking to a minimal, Chef Life is very much focused on the opposite. Offering a unique look at what it takes to be a head chef in a restaurant, learning different recipes, improving on dishes and deciding your own menu while doing every little task required for completing a recipe all the way from ordering the ingredients to chopping all the veggies and putting the dish in the oven. Having played through a myriad of restaurant tycoons, playing a game that actually lets you go through the intricate details of the cooking process feels like a breath of fresh air.

A Typical Day in the Kitchen (Gameplay):

Chef Life’s core gameplay loop consists of getting to your restaurant bright and early every morning, picking out your menu and then ordering the supplies you’ll need for the day once the menu is finalized. Players also have the option to order in surplus and freeze their produce for later use if they wish to do so, however this usually ends up decreasing the quality of the produce and is seldom ever something that you truly need to do.

Once your produce is delivered the game gives you a bunch of free time to mess around in your kitchen. This time can be utilized to learn new recipes for future menus, prepare things in advance for the service, or go around buying upgrades for and decorating your restaurant. Later on, you also get introduced to your own sous chefs whom can be ordered to either clean up the kitchen before service, prepare appetizers, or help you in preparing dishes or ingredients for service.

As the time for service approaches your access to the pantry as well as having the ability to order around the sous chefs is taken away and time freezes until the player walks up to the door and flips the sign from “Closed” to “Open”, officially beginning the day’s service. Something to note here is also, if the player is in the middle of a recipe as the clock ticks over to service time, they can continue cooking while time is stopped as long they don’t need to access the pantry to pull out more ingredients.

Service time is when the gameplay truly heats up. Starting service restricts the player to just the kitchen, as customers come into the restaurant one by one and place their orders. At this point the player can either order their sous chefs or start cooking the order themselves, following each recipe to completion and filling each order.

Based on the quality of one’s ingredients and execution of the recipe, each dish ends up with a letter grade indicating how much the customer will end up enjoying it. Serving a dish with a high letter grade but letting it sit out so that it cools down before serving can also result in a poor review.

Once every customer is served, service is finished and the chef can once more walk around the entire restaurant and talk to anyone that may want to get their attention. Talking to people is how most of the Story advances in the game, which brings us to the next section.

Story

Chef Life presents itself with an open ended narrative, however there are individual character and progression stories that can be followed to achieve certain milestones. Story beats happen when characters request to talk with you either before or after service and ask you to perform certain actions during service that progress their individual stories. Once you’ve listened to the initial request, each quest can also be viewed again at a bulletin board in your office.

The Game has quite a cast of characters to get to know further which really adds depth to the world of the game. Learning the backstories and motivations of each character allows you to actually be immersed in the experience of being a new restaurant owner in a community instead of just feeling like a random restaurant in generic unknown video game city. The cast of characters themselves are varied and intricate, including a food influencer who requests certain types of dishes and menu items to blog about, a Michelin star chef who acts as a mentor and really pushes you to up your game with more complex dishes, a government employee who informs you about happenings in the city and requests menu themes to cater to events and tourists that might want to dine at your restaurant, and an old man who’s mother used to own the restaurant before you, who wants you to keep her memory alive. There’s also your own sous chefs, each with their own motivations and goals of what they want to get out of working for you. Completing your sous chef’s storylines allows them to level up and be better at helping out with service.

The inclusion of character storylines weaved together with different gameplay requests really adds a lot to the immersive experience and enables players to explore more parts of the game that perhaps they would not have explored without the added importance.

The story does indeed culminate into something with a proper ending, one that I will not be spoiling here, but it is very much a fulfilling experience to run through. It is also to be noted that one can continue playing even after the “ending” and keep completing requests that may still pop up from time to time.

Oh The Bugs!

T-Posing Sous Chef Preparing Appetizers

Technologically and graphically the game is pretty simply put together. With a low poly art style that fits the restaurant aesthetic well. That being said, there are quite a few visual and technical glitches that a player can expect to encounter while they go on running their restaurant. Some of these glitches are simple visual discrepancies such as characters T-posing while cooking animations still carry out in front of them or your wait staff clipping through tables in their quest to deliver food.

Then there are the more notorious game breaking bugs, which can be a lot more frustrating to experience. While playing through the game I joined the official discord to compare my experience with other players and was shocked to discover quite a few of the players being unable to progress because of various systems being completely broken or their entire save file being totally corrupted. The glitches include: time being completely stopped and not progressing, save data being corrupted or reset, quest lines not progressing even though you have completed the requirements (I ran into this myself a few times but was able to restart the game and have the questlines progress correctly). I was also informed that the vast majority of bugs were encountered by players on consoles, where patches take a lot longer to be delivered. So if you are looking to purchase the game for one of your consoles I would consult the discord first to see if there are any known bugs in the latest patch.

Replay-ability and Achievement Hunting Potential

Something I do like to do with a lot of games that I personally enjoy is going back to get achievements as well as explore paths that I may not taken previously. The game’s plotline does allow you to choose multiple directions your restaurant can take with different specialties, each choice having their own achievement options for which players may want to replay the game, but as the moment where the plotlines diverge is very clearly marked, one can also simply backup their save file at this point and restore to gain the other option. The achievements are also pretty straightforward and tied to different things players can do in the game such as having a menu featuring only Pasta dishes or plating the dishes so that each ingredient is stacked onto another to make a tower of ingredients laid out on a plate. I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of achievements and I believe apart from the story divergence most of the achievements are attainable in one playthrough. I will also note here that after sinking 40+ hours into the game I still don’t have all of the achievements so if you’re looking to 100% you may or may not be looking at at least 50 hours, excluding a game breaking glitch that forces you to restart your run. One thing I will mention is that the game does feature a preference menu that allows you to customize certain aspects to make dealing with service a lot less of a hassle and does not affect achievement progression.

Final Thoughts

Going into this game I expected an uncomplicated cooking simulator experience but I am glad to say that chef life does a lot more than just simulate cooking, although the cooking simulation part is very involved as well. Having sunk 40+ hours into the game I do think that I will eventually return to 100% the game, the gameplay loop is enjoyable enough for you to keep going without feeling stressed out by the complicated cooking, and the inclusion of your sous chefs getting better at helping out over time makes the game go by a lot easier once you hit that late game progression.

This is very much a delightful experience for those that prefer chore-heavy simulation games, provided one can look past some of the game breaking bugs.

I would like to award Chef Life a rating of 7/10

I believe it executes well on what it sets out to accomplish, however the game does feel very rough around the edges and with further polish, could be a much more exciting experience.
