Next up, we are announcing the new Backbone One Carrying Case, which will be on sale globally starting today via Backbone’s websiteAmazon and Best Buy. This lightweight, portable carrying case stores your controller safely and efficiently. In addition to the Backbone Black version, we worked closely with our partners at PlayStation to create the PlayStation® Edition of the carrying case in white. The case works with all Backbone One devices, including the new universally compatible USB-C products.

Is Variety The Main Draw Of Online Casino Gaming?

0

Throughout the last few decades, we’ve seen the casino landscape change and progress in the online world. What was once a face-to-face entertainment experience is now a digital experience that, as time has gone on, has become a force to be reckoned with. In light of this, we’ll be looking into whether the variety of slots readily available on most online casino sites is the primary cause of their attraction, or if there’s more to them than meets the eye.

Source: Pexels

Getting ‘suited and booted’ in your favourite suit or dress to take part in casino gaming is still very much a part of casino culture today. But times have changed; practicality from the comfort of your own home is becoming more accessible, and when it comes to gaming (outside of the casino setting), it’s the place to be. From surfing the web, it’s clear to see that online casinos are on the rise. But what makes them so popular?

The Variety

Many would say that the variety of slots available in online casino gaming is enough to draw new and existing fans away from traditional casinos into the digital mould. And for many players, the variety alone is enough to reel them in. To put things into perspective, traditional casinos are limited in the number of available slots as they’re often restricted by the size of the venue.

Online, however, the world is your oyster. Casino sites can often contain hundreds of different slots, providing countless hours of gaming content. Inspired by existing games, movies or even mythology, the online slot catalogue is expansive. However, there’s more to online casinos than just variety.

Attending Live Games

Live casino games provide an intimate, face-to-face experience for casino lovers, where players bet and play against each other. Advocating for enhanced social interaction in the casino setting, this form of gambling was once only enjoyed as an in-person experience.

Now, players can play live online casino UK games and interact with human dealers, using a chat function to raise questions. These live games are available on several sites and can offer an experience similar to that of a traditional casino. This is a great example of how digital capability is propelling online casinos into the spotlight with unique features and opportunities.

Convenience

Sometimes we like to plug in and do what we enjoy whenever, wherever. With online casinos, that’s exactly what you can do. No longer are you limited to casinos in your local area, the online casino domain allows you to tap in from your bedroom to your living room. There’s no doubt this has made online casinos much more accessible, as dressing up and making the journey in person wasn’t, and still isn’t, on everyone’s radar. Now, you have the best of both worlds.

Variety is undoubtedly a prominent factor in the rising success of online casinos, but when we talk about such a topic, it’s important to address the uniqueness of digital casinos in their entirety. From a variety of slots to attending live games and the convenience of gaming, we can learn to understand how and why online casinos are resonating well with fans, and it’s safe to assume

Review: Jumanji: Wild Adventures

My video review with footage captured using my Xbox Series X.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures is the perfect title for your children. This simple game is colourful and full of bite-sized action. What’s more, it is straightforward, easy to play, and captures the essence of the film. As such, though it won’t test adults, kids will adore its rudimentary gameplay.

This action-adventure title was developed by Cradle Games Inc. and published by Outright Games. Additionally, there are platforming elements that can be enjoyed locally with 3 other players. Subsequently, there is an old-school touch to this non-stop experience.

The team explore the jungle.
Time to explore the jungle.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures unleashes a familiar tale.

Though the action is captivating for youngsters, the plot is unfortunately shallow. Moreover, though there are some drip-fed elements, the core concept rarely changes. As such, there is a distinct feeling of deja vu as repetition sets in early doors. However, as the key demographic is young gamers, this was the perfect approach.

The lightweight story focuses on the 4 Jumanji protagonists. Just when they thought their adventuring days were over, the Jumanji board made them think twice. In this endeavour, the team must undertake an arduous journey as they try to recover the Jaguar’s Eye. Yet, this is easier said than done. Sadly, creatures, monsters, and angry tribespeople stand between you and success. Consequently, it’ll take every ounce of strength, talent, and skill to complete the game and return home.

Hop between the stones to avoid the water.
Use the stones to avoid the water.

A straightforward affair.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures asks you to explore a world map whilst discovering different regions. Furthermore, every area is made up of several stages and culminates in a boss battle. You’ll have to explore the forgotten villages, the dark caves, icy mountains, and fetid swamps. Thankfully, each location has unique obstacles and creatures to overcome and defeat.

However, no matter the location, the core concept remains the same. Unfortunately, this makes it tedious from an adult’s perspective. But the straightforward approach is ideal for youngsters. Accordingly, once your kids get to grips with the basic ideas, they’ll need no guidance.

The action focuses on collecting coins and gems while attacking hordes of enemies. Alongside this, you must avoid obstacles, jump across chasms, and collect the letters to spell out the word Jumanji. Moreover, there are hidden areas to discover and a gigantic boss to defeat. None of these tasks are challenging and this ensures that kids will enjoy every action-packed moment.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures doesn’t look next-gen.

Visually, Jumanji: Wild Adventures didn’t float my boat. Though it is colourful and the stage design is varied and interesting, it lacks a modern finish. Unfortunately, the finish and textures are a little rough, and the animation is somewhat clunky. However, my kids didn’t mind and that’s all that matters. Furthermore, the blend of 3D arenas and the overworld map is an interesting choice. Yet, I wish the developers had done more with the latter option as this would have expanded the base game.

The audio, on the other hand, fared much better. The upbeat soundtrack captures the mysterious nature of the board game. Moreover, the crunching sound effects and witty one-liners will amuse and entertain its intended audience. Consequently, though it annoys adults, my munchkins loved every loud and obnoxious moment.

Time your jump and avoid the sawblade.
I hope you make the cut.

Easy to master but clunky controls.

Though this was easy to master, the controls were unnecessarily clunky. This made it occasionally challenging to navigate tight spaces or to fight multiple enemies at once. However, the impact is minimal and doesn’t undermine an otherwise child-friendly experience.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures is repetitive. Yet, thanks to its collectables and level rating system, there is replay value and longevity. Subsequently, if you fall for its jungle charms, you’ll play it for hours without complaint.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures is another great title for younger gamers.

Outright Games delivers another fine child-friendly title. Not only does it remain faithful to the franchise, but it is perfectly safe for youngsters. On top of this, its replay value ensures that it’s great value for money. Accordingly, I recommend that you buy it here! Can you play big and get home? Choose your hero, tackle every stage, and recover the Jaguar’s Eye.

Best Fall/Winter Hobbies to Try

0

With the changing season, mood and temperament also change, and so do the hobbies and activities. Especially during the fall and winter seasons, when the days are shorter and filled with sweet chills, one can find a variety of hobbies that match the unique charm of the season. You can experience the memorable memories of these seasons, which could bring nostalgia in the future whenever you walk on the crunchy leaves, get absorbed in the impeccable beauty of snowy grounds, or feel the coziness of fire. Moreover, the winter also tempts you to find activities you can enjoy while eating soup with chunky items or sipping on your favorite hot beverage as you play and enjoy bonus buy casino features on your favorite site.

Look into Kitchen

You may find it hard to stand in the kitchen during the hot season but fall and winter are the best times to slip into the kitchen and try out your favorite cuisines. Well, nothing could match the satisfaction of doing experiments in the kitchen, whether you would like to come up with your own unique recipes for hearty stews or try with the ingredients that your grandma used to bake fresh bread and savory pies. On holidays, you can set a treat table for your family and make them festive treats like pumpkin pies and gingerbread cookies. So, baking and cooking are not just activities but therapeutic outlets that let you bring to the surface your culinary skills.

Freeze the Moments

With your photography skills, you can technically freeze the dreamy moments during fall and winter. Well, if you are not a pro, you can learn to capture with the best angles, and then you can make a portfolio of your best clicks, whether the subtle snowy landscapes or the vibrant scenes from the fall. So, you do not necessarily need to find an out-of-budget camera to make such memories, but you can use your smartphone best.

Artistic Skills

The fall and winter are the best times to bring out your artistic skills indoors. So you can try plenty of things like:

  • Knitting
  • Painting
  • Weaving
  • Stitching
  • Crocheting
  • Making decoration pieces
  • Decorating rooms, etc.

Apart from these, you can create homemade gifts and send them to your friends and relatives that would be a unique present for the season. All in all, the possibilities of finding arts and crafts works are endless, and you can create something of your own that could give you immeasurable pleasure.

Sports

There are many sports, but when it comes to the season, there is a separate category for winter sports for the players who want to play outside. Sports like ice skating, skiing, snowshoeing, and snowshoeing supply adrenaline rush to the brain and elevate the pleasure of activity while the players can also work out physically through such games. So, such games are the best fun hobbies to stay active during winter.

Walks and Exploration

Summers are hard to go out in on exploring missions, while the autumn provides better opportunities, where you can go on long walks with your friends or spouse and enjoy the transforming scenery of nature. You can even go to far-off places to set camps and enjoy bonfires under the starry night. Such is the mood that you cannot miss while you have time and energy.

Cozy With Books and Notes

Fall and winter are the best times of the year when you find minimal distraction due to the hot weather, and you can make yourself a hot cup of coffee and set to your writing task. Even if you are a book warm, why not take your favorite reading book to a vibrant and sunny place, where you can soak in the book and sun to spend a good part of the day delving into the content of your favorite book?

Board Games

Invite your friends and family every evening for an exciting session of board games like jigsaw puzzles, scrabbles, and Monopoly. You can set the late-night extended sessions where you can socialize, compete, enjoy, and indulge in an intellectually stimulating hobby.

Home Renovation and Decoration

If you have some vacations in fall or winter, why not utilize such time to renovate your home for a renewed and perfect look? For an idea, you can do several things, such as renovating your kitchen or lounge, redecorating your room, changing the color schemes of walls and furniture, or simply decluttering the stuff that looks unnecessary and ugly. Well, such activities are satisfying and refreshing for your mood while bringing an element of newness to your old place.

Ending Lines

From the above discussion, you can pick any of your favorite hobbies, or you can also look for another unique one, as this is the season that allows you to be creative and innovative at the same time. Therefore, no matter whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or want to stay indoors, the fall and winter hobbies retain the charm of the season.

Review: Lords of the Fallen

Lords of the Fallen falls into that vast genre called Souls-Like. This expansive term is generally penned for anything that’ll break your balls in seconds. However, there is much more depth to this genre. Furthermore, a flippant term shouldn’t define a whole gaming experience. Instead, this blend of RPG, adventure, and cruel Souls elements ensures that it carves its own path.

This harsh endeavour was developed by HEXWORKS and published by CI Games. What’s more, it is the sequel to the 2014 title of the same name. However, no prior knowledge is required if you wish to tackle the latest iteration.

Lords of the Fallen tells a dramatic tale.

The God, Adyr was defeated. However, his resurrection is all but assured. As such, a hero must step forward to quash this uprising. Thankfully, a fabled Dark Crusader will journey through the realm of the living and dead to thwart this threat and restore equilibrium.

Though the plot lacks layers of originality, I enjoyed its dramatic approach and the blend of dark and light. On top of this, it allows the developers to create a monstrously large world that rarely outstays its welcome. Additionally, there is an entrenched feeling of danger and reward as you push yourself further into the abyss.

Alongside this, there is a deep character customisation mode and several classes to choose from. Moreover, you carve your own playstyle to tackle the harsh nature of the gameplay. Whether you focus on magic or close-quarter combat is your choice. However, whatever you decide, you must master the fluid combat mechanics to get the most out of the action.

The hero stares at an ominous sight.
That sight fills you with dread.

How will you approach things?

Though I like the all-out nature of Elden Ring, Lords of the Fallen rewards you with a more refined approach. Furthermore, trying to brute kill your way through the mountains of enemies you face will not suffice. Instead, you must use your character build, weapons, and skills to your advantage. However, this is easier said than done as the game chucks mountains of enemies in your path. Additionally, the combination of ranged and close-quarter foes complicates matters further.

If you then consider the janky locking-on technique, it makes every encounter more testing than it should. Yet, if you can overcome these hurdles, there is plenty of odd lore, strange creatures, and unique weapons to discover and acquire. As such, if you adore the customisation element of this genre, then you are in for a treat.

2 worlds to explore and a bit of a gamble.

The 2014 title wasn’t expansive enough. However, Lords of the Fallen is 5 times bigger than its predecessor. Thanks to the two parallel worlds, you will have a testing time exploring every nook and cranny. Moreover, the realm of death and darkness is unbelievably cruel. Accordingly, the demonic beings that roam this plain are not to be messed with.

If you like to up the ante somewhat, you can put your XP on the line. Alternatively, you can bank it at a checkpoint to use at a convenient time. Yet, if you keep hold of your XP, you receive a bonus that rewards you for your bravery. Consequently, the more XP you hold, the greater the XP that you earn. As such, you must decide whether to risk it all or play it safe.

The hero battles through the parallel realm.
Can you survive the parallel realm?

The bosses make Lords of the Fallen shine.

Though I have my complaints, I adored the cruel and enormous bosses in Lords of the Fallen. These asshat creatures test every ounce of patience and skill you may possess. Moreover, it can be tough to highlight their weakness, especially if your character build doesn’t complement the situation. Yet, if you can take advantage of each brute’s shortcomings, you’ll cut through them like a hot knife through butter.

Lords of the Fallen is janky and lacks polish.

My biggest disappointment is the janky and uncomfortable combat animation. Sadly, you cannot cancel any action and this causes problems in any fight. On top of this, the camera doesn’t keep up with the action and this increases your chances of dying. What’s more, the auto-locking system isn’t great, and this makes it progressively hard to move forward.

These issues to one side, I liked the character customisation and the vast difference between the two parallel realms. Furthermore, the stage design is interesting and exploring the vast areas was fascinating. Yet, I wish the developers had reduced the number of enemies and improved the poor animation.

The audio fared better, thankfully. The oppressive sound effects and dramatic soundtrack create an ominous environment. Accordingly, I enjoyed the crunching sounds of your weapon and the noises of the NPCs.

Can the hero defeat the enormous creature?
How will you defeat that beast?

The combat system was smooth.

Combat is a key element of Lords of the Fallen. As such, a smooth combat system was a must-have. Luckily, the well-told tutorial sets you up to master whichever class you have chosen. After this, a whole heap of trial and error and practice are required if you wish to excel. Yet, once you know what you are doing, you’ll enjoy rolling, slashing, and killing everything in your path. However, remember that the auto-aim isn’t great, and the camera isn’t your friend.

With a vast world to explore and 2 parallel realms to traverse, this has plenty of replay value and longevity. Alongside this, you are free to pick your class and customise it however you wish. Additionally, you can join others online, or raid players to ruin their day. As such, this cruel title ups the ante and makes things harder still.

Lords of the Fallen is no Dark Souls clone.

Though much of the action is similar to Dark Souls, it isn’t a clone. Luckily, it has enough about it to make it stand out from its much-loved/much-hated peers. Consequently, if you want a new Souls-like experience to scratch that cruel itch, then this will be right up your street. Subsequently, I recommend that you buy it here! Can you explore both realms and save the day? Master your class, destroy every boss, and gamble your life for vast rewards.

Review: Dual Driver Headphones with ANC

The Dual Driver Headphones with ANC from Monoprice prove that incredible products can be straightforward. These understated over-the-ear headphones are comfortable and robust. Furthermore, they are simple to use and easy to set up, and they come with a handy carry case.

On top of this, they deliver excellent sound quality alongside comfortable ANC technology. Additionally, they are great for phone calls and use multi-point pairing. As such, you can use them to work and play without compromising on either.

What’s in the box of the Dual Driver Headphones with ANC?

  • The monochromatic packaging is striking. Furthermore, its simplicity ensures that costs are kept to a minimum. Moreover, it can be recycled and that’s a massive plus point.
  • The Dual Driver Headphones with ANC are great to look at. What’s more, they are comfortable to wear and deliver in all the right areas. Additionally, there are some tactile buttons to enhance usability.
  • A small USB-C cable is provided to charge the device.
  • Learn the fundamentals with the user manual.

Technical aspects.

Though I appreciate the ability to make phone calls from my headphones, I only care about the audio quality! Thankfully, the Dual Driver Headphones with ANC do not disappoint. The 20 mm and 40 mm drivers deliver a crisp tonal range. Consequently, there is a healthy range of tones, crisp treble, and ear-shaking bass. Moreover, the ANC technology reduces unwanted background noise to keep you in the game.

Alongside this, you can activate transparency mode to enhance your safety. This is ideal if you love to run, walk, or cycle. With this option activated, you can still hear your music, but vehicles and other road users are more noticeable. What’s more, you can hear people talking without the requirement of removing your audio device.

Work and play.

Multi-point pairing is more commonplace. However, I usually find it on more expensive devices. As such, I was impressed that a $70 headset offered this as standard. Additionally, the ability to set up 2 devices at the same time was a cinch. Therefore, I could enjoy a podcast or gaming on my mobile phone whilst remaining connected for an upcoming Zoom call.

Talking of calls, these headphones deliver crisp and clear conversations no matter how loud the environmental sounds. The noise reduction technology and enhanced voice pick-up enable you to be heard clearly. Moreover, I experienced no uncomfortable popping or awful echoed feedback.

Build quality.

The Dual Driver Headphones with ANC are sleek and impressive to look at. The all-black finish and sizeable over-ear cans deliver a striking look. Additionally, the padded headband and plush ear cushions allow you to wear these for hours on end. Alongside this, the foldable cups ensure that these take up minimal space whenever you are travelling. This allows them to be a great choice for hand luggage or as a carry-on during a flight.

Another fine feature was the tactile buttons. These well-labelled inputs allow you to answer phone calls, switch modes, and change your music. Consequently, it was impressive how easy they were to use and I liked the positioning on the right earcup.

Are the Dual Driver Headphones with ANC worth it?

There are plenty of great headsets on the market. However, I believe that these offer a lot of bang for your buck. Not only do they have an exceptional up to 70 hours of playtime, but they deliver incredible audio and they are comfortable to wear. Furthermore, they look great and they are compact when in their case. As such, I adore them and I recommend that you buy them here!

Review: Homeseek

Survival crafting games have always been something that I have had a hard time getting into. There is something about managing all sorts of different resources and ensuring that the residents are taken care of. Managing meters and making the adjustments on the fly might be a task for some but for those who are fully engaged with these kinds of mechanics, HomeSeek will be a pleasant surprise for you.

HomeSeek will have us taking part in two different campaigns that span across nine different chapters. You can opt to take these chapters on in three different modes which include Survival, Endless, and Story mode. I personally enjoyed Story mode over the other two due to the fact I was able to work towards a set goal to see the end of the chapters. Survival will have your progress carrying over between chapters and this was a daunting experience due to the fact that I was concerned about messing up in the early game. By completing the first 5 chapters, you will be able to unlock the rest of the chapters that can be found in part two. With different playmodes to enjoy along with a selection of difficulty modes to sort through, there is bound to be something here for those who enjoy this genre.

Gameplay consists of an overhead view, similar to other games in the genre such as SimCities and Frostpunk. This will give you the ability to move the camera around to get a good idea of the landscape that is at your disposal. It will be important to lay out a plan when it comes to building structures since you will have to focus on both bringing in resources as well as ensuring the proper connections are made. Sending workers to pluck berries from bushes is pointless if you don’t have a food storage building located nearby. I ended up scrapping my first playthrough since I wasn’t satisfied with the layout I had set up. This would potentially be enough to put off players who are not fans of this genre or those who have a hard time sticking with something after making a major mistake.

As you go about setting up different buildings and collecting different resources, you will find a plethora of information awaiting you with all of the tabs on the screen. HomeSeek does a wonderful job of supplying you with all the information that you will need right away but this can be a little overwhelming in the beginning. One thing I really enjoyed was the ability to assign workers to a certain building and then check the details on the worker. You can see their names and where they are living if you have assigned them to one of the houses you can build. I ended up building a home for one of the workers well before the tutorial had asked me to and it was nice to see that I could take the next steps without the game having to hold my hand the entire time. This level of freedom was pleasant but did land me in a weird situation where I was unsure of what to do. Thankfully a quest log can be seen off to the left side of the screen that keeps track of your current progress on the quest you have.

Over the course of the game, you will have to ensure that you are taking care of the people that you have in your camp, otherwise you will see them pass away. One thing that you will have to keep in mind is the fact that people will pass away and sometimes you just have to let them go. Loading the save and trying again is a possibility but it is important to realize that this also means one less mouth to feed so others are able to survive for a little bit longer. This was interesting enough to help keep me engaged with some of the decisions to be made here but unfortunately, it was not enough to keep me interested during the slower parts of gameplay.

Daytime is where a lot of our gameplay will take place since nighttime will have us simply resting. This means that there will be no resources collected as well as no progress made on the work we had our people doing. I often found myself just watching time pass during these moments and while you are capable of speeding time up to make things progress faster, I felt like this was something that could have been handled on the back end by automatically speeding up.

While the game was quite enjoyable for the first few moments, by the time I made it to the part where I was able to send out people on expeditions, I was ready to close it out. There is a lot here for those who are fans of the genre and it definitely has the ability to capture the attention of those who enjoy when their actions have weight but the constant waiting around for things to be done can be quite off putting. I often found myself scrolling through my phone while waiting for resources to build up or for my workers to finish constructing some of my buildings. Things move extremely slow and while we have the ability to bump things up to three times the normal speed, there was nothing that really encouraged me to take those next steps. Homeseek is fun when you are locked into the gameplay loops but the moment you hit that first bump in the road in regards to waiting on something, the flaws start to come out. This is a major make or break moment for those who are on the fence here and nothing is really done to persuade you into continuing the game.
