If you love to write your thoughts on paper but you’re environmentally conscious, you’re in a bit of a bind. Thankfully, the Paper Pure from reMarkable saves the day. It offers the joy of modern technology with the classic and user-friendly nature of pen on paper. The result is a sense of belonging and connectivity with the words you are noting.
I’ve reviewed the Paper Pure tablet, and I concluded, “ReMarkable offers some incredible products, and choosing between its flagship models and its latest product is a bit of a minefield. However, I’m going to try to make this easy for you. If you need a larger colour screen and increased storage, the Pro model should be your port of call. Alternatively, if portability is your thing, the Pro Move is a must. However, if you are happy with a black-and-white screen and better battery life, the Paper Pure tablet offers the best of both worlds. On top of this, it is an affordable choice.”
My biggest gripe with the Paper Pure was the lack of a truly premium sleeve folio. I love the material ones provided, but I prefer a top-end leather product to protect my expensive tech. This has now been answered, as reMarkable released its Forest Brown Sleeve Folio in October 2026. This high-end case offers full protection without cutting corners. Additionally, the leather material feels great to hold while being unbelievably durable.
Why buy the Forest Brown Sleeve Folio?
It is fair to say that the Forest Brown Sleeve Folio is a premium device with a price tag that matches. However, I’m not sure you can put a price on appearance or protection. Although the fabric alternatives are fantastic, the leather option looks amazing when you take it into a meeting or when you are working on a train. It screams high-end executive as you unfold the magnetically secured clasps and remove your Paper Pure tablet.
The Forest Brown Sleeve Folio safely houses your Paper Pure tablet alongside the Marker or Marker Plus stylus. This makes it easier to transport your tablet without the concern of losing your pen or damaging your screen. Moreover, the leather material can slide into your bag with limited friction. Subsequently, handling your tablet on the move is a walk in the park.
We’ve all had tech that runs out of battery because the thing never goes into standby. Fortunately, that isn’t a problem you need to worry about with this sleeve folio. The moment you store the tablet within the case, the screen goes to sleep, and the device retains its battery. This ensures that you get maximum usability without having to worry about charging your device between meetings.
Build quality.
I’ve mentioned the word premium multiple times. This may seem like overkill and high praise, but it is thoroughly deserved. Everything about this product is exceptional. The stitching is clean, fine, and accurate. There are no wavy lines, missed stitches, or loose thread. Furthermore, the padding is plush without being too bulky. The result is a case that is easy to hold and not too heavy to carry.
The padding works well with the external leather material to protect the tablet. If you drop the Forest Brown Sleeve Folio, it does a great job of keeping your Paper Pure tablet safe. Moreover, the leather material is easy to clean, and it ages well. The hinged portion of the case is durable, and there are no ill effects from opening it repeatedly. I noticed no misalignment, nor were there any creases or deformities.
Inside, your tablet is protected by blue microfibre. This is a great choice as it keeps the screen protected and reduces the risk of scratching. I like the 2-toned effect and the rich blue colouring.
Is the Forest Brown Sleeve Folio worth it?
If you have invested in, or plan to invest in, a Paper Pure tablet, I think the Forest Brown Sleeve Folio is worth every penny. Yes, it is more expensive than the standard folios, but you cannot beat that premium edge. The build quality is fantastic, and who doesn’t want that extra wow factor? Accordingly, I think it is amazing, and I recommend buying it here!
