Here is our review of the UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Ultra.

Take control of your data with the UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Ultra, a six-bay NAS built for creators, small studios and growing teams who need serious storage without the hassle of a full server. Powered by a 10-core Intel Core 5 120U processor and 8GB of DDR5 memory (expandable up to 96GB), it has the muscle to handle multiple users, backups, Docker containers and virtual machines all at the same time.
Move huge files in a flash with dual 10GbE networking and two 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 ports for connecting directly to your workstation – perfect for editing video straight off the NAS. Six SATA bays and two M.2 NVMe slots give you room for up to 208TB of raw storage, with support for JBOD, Basic, RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10.
With UGOS Pro you get one place to manage files, user accounts, permissions and backups, along with secure remote access so your team can reach their files from anywhere while your data stays on hardware you control. A PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, HDMI 2.1 output with 8K support and a built-in SD 4.0 card reader round off a very capable package.

A Closer Look

Final Thoughts
The DXP6800 Ultra is very well built, with a solid aluminium body that feels like it will last for years, and it looks smart enough to sit on a desk rather than being hidden away in a cupboard.
Getting it up and running is really simple and quick. You pop your drives into the trays, plug in the power and network cables and the UGREEN app walks you through the rest of the setup (it only takes a few minutes).
The Intel Core 5 120U is a real step up and gives the DXP6800 Ultra plenty of headroom, so running backups, serving files to several people and running Docker containers at the same time is no problem at all.
Dual 10GbE is great if you have a team all working off the same storage, and the two Thunderbolt 4 ports mean you can plug a laptop or desktop straight into the NAS and work on large video projects as if they were sitting on a local drive. If you have the separately sold UGREEN LinkStation eGPU Dock you can even pass GPU power through to your containers and virtual machines.
The NAS comes with 8GB of RAM, which is fine for most people. Don’t worry, if you plan on running lots of virtual machines there are two slots and you can go all the way up to 96GB.
The two M.2 slots are a great addition – you can use them for fast SSD storage – and the PCIe 4.0 x4 slot gives you room to grow, whether that’s faster networking or something else down the line.
UGOS Pro is clean and easy to use and gives you everything you need to manage users, permissions, backups and remote access from one place – definitely take some time to explore the App Center as there is a lot in there.
The two large fans at the back are covered by a magnetic dust filter which is really easy to pop off and clean.
There are plenty of ports on the front too – two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10Gbps USB-A port and an SD 4.0 card reader – so you can offload footage from a camera card or plug in an external drive without having to reach round the back.
The HDMI 2.1 port supports output up to 8K at 60Hz, so you can plug the DXP6800 Ultra straight into a TV or monitor and use it as a media player as well as a storage box.
With six bays you have lots of flexibility when it comes to setting up your drives. RAID 5 gives you a good balance of space and protection, while RAID 6 means two drives can fail and your data is still safe.
You can also get to your files on the go with the UGREEN mobile app and UGREENlink remote access, which is really handy if you need to grab something while you are away from the office.
It is also worth pairing it with the optional UGREEN NAS UPS, which keeps things running during a power cut and helps protect your data and any tasks that are in progress.
If you are coming from the DXP6800 Pro, the Ultra gives you a newer processor, support for up to 96GB of RAM rather than 64GB and a higher storage ceiling of 208TB (up from 196TB).
UGREEN backs the DXP6800 Ultra with a three-year warranty, which gives you some extra peace of mind.
Overall, the DXP6800 Ultra is a seriously powerful NAS that is ideal for creators, small studios and growing businesses – and it is easy enough to use that you don’t need to be an IT expert to get the most out of it.
The UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Ultra is available now priced at $1,449.99 (diskless) from the UGREEN store and Amazon.
