At first I was very wary of the stand alone ‘Joker’ Spin-off film when it was announced but all the photos and especially the first trailer for the film have absolutely won me over and if I had any doubts left well, they are are all gone now as the director himself, Todd Phillips after posting a new photo from the film to his Instagram actually confirmed that the film will be R Rated to a fan in the comments who asked: “It will be Rated R. I’ve been asked this a lot. Just assumed people knew. Sorry.”
The film will tell the story of n the story, Arthur Fleck, played by surprise choice Joaquin Phoenix, who is a man who feels ignored and abandoned by society no matter how hard he tries to bring smiles and joy to people. Beaten down and reaching his lowest point after one particularly bad day….he breaks and a new dark persona takes over.
Joker is scheduled to open in Cinemas on October 4th and I personally cannot wait!
