Final Thoughts
The A10 Pro is small and light enough to slip into a pocket and it feels really solid in the hand, with a design that looks far more premium than your average tape measure.
The 2-in-1 approach makes a lot of sense. For shorter measurements – a shelf, a door frame or a length of timber – you just pull out the digital tape and the reading appears on the screen as you go. For longer distances you switch to the laser, point it at a wall and you get an accurate reading of up to 50m almost instantly. No more trying to hold the end of a tape in place on your own.
The display is a real highlight. It is bright and very easy to read (you can adjust the brightness in the settings) and being able to see both the tape and laser measurements at the same time is really useful.
There are three modes you can choose from – Distance, Area and Volume – they all work well and they are easy to select. If you are planning a new carpet or working out how much paint you need, the area mode in particular is really handy.
You can also choose between six units (ft, ft+in, in, m, cm and mm) and three reference points (front, rear and the tripod screw hole), so whichever way you prefer to measure, the A10 Pro has you covered. The built-in angle sensor is a nice extra too and something you don’t often find on tools like this.
The 30 data slots mean you can measure up an entire room and check back through the figures later, rather than scribbling them down on the back of an envelope.
Charging is via a hidden Type-C port and a full charge is good for over 5,000 measurements, so you won’t need to charge it very often. Don’t worry about hunting around for spare batteries either – there aren’t any to replace.
There is also a tripod thread on the base, which is great if you need to measure up to a ceiling or want a steady, hands-free reading – definitely worth using if you have a tripod lying around.
