Final Thoughts
The 20L Civilian Backpack arrives ready to load straight out of the packaging – there’s no assembly, no extra straps to attach and no fiddly instructions to read, just the backpack itself, complete with a hook and loop patch area for anyone who wants to customise it further.
The 20L Civilian Backpack is fairly lightweight and feels very comfortable to wear even on longer days out, with the padded straps and mesh back panel doing a great job of stopping it from digging in.
Packing it is straightforward too, the full clamshell opening means you can get right down to the bottom of the main compartment rather than digging around blind, and the 20 litres of capacity is enough for a laptop, a change of clothes and everything else you’d want for a day trip or a short getaway.
There are really three ways you’ll end up using it – as a daily commuter bag, a hiking daypack and a travel companion – and it handles all three really well. The dedicated laptop compartment comfortably takes anything up to 16 inches, and the lined top pocket is handy for keys, wallets and sunglasses that you want to reach without opening the whole bag.
Don’t worry if you’re heading to the airport either, the luggage pass-through strap slides straight over a wheeled case handle, and the concealed AirTag pocket means you can keep track of the bag if it ever goes missing.
The water-resistant nylon construction and YKK zippers work really well and give you confidence the backpack will hold up to daily wear and tear, whether that’s the commute or a weekend away.
The UAG Civilian 20L Backpack is available now priced around £105.00 in Midnight Camo, Olive/Orange or Black/Orange.
