Losing your wallet is one of those small disasters that ruins an entire day, so when UAG sent over the Metropolis Kevlar Wallet with Tracker Card, I was curious to see whether “rugged” and “smart” could actually coexist in something this slim. Built around a genuine DuPont Kevlar inlay and packing a fully integrated Apple Find My tracker, it’s designed for people who want extreme durability in a lightweight, high-performance form — without carrying around a brick of a wallet to get it.

The Metropolis Wallet and Tracker card for Apple. Lightweight and durable, the Kevlar® inlay brings next-level strength to your pocket. Holds up to 6 cards and bills that stay hidden and secure, even when you flip the wallet into kickstand mode. The 2.5mm ultra strong magnet ensures a firm attachment to your phone case. Our tracker card adds Apple Find My tracking to the wallet without adding bulk and lasts up to 5 months on a single charge. Track your wallet in real-time, trigger alerts, and enable Lost Mode using the Apple Find My™ network.

Wallet

  • Kevlar Inlay: Premium Kevlar material delivers extreme durability in a lightweight, high-performance form.
  • No Added Bulk: Compact, slim design with plenty of storage for your most important cards.
  • Security: Durable hinge for a secure closure and ensures your cards stay securely tucked in transit.
  • Versatile Kickstand: Can be used in either portrait or landscape viewing mode for hands free viewing.
  • MagSafe Compatible: Ultra strong 2.5mm magnet for secure attachment to a magnetic phone case.

Tracker Card

  • Premium, Slim Design: Durable polycarbonate (PC) housing with IPX4 water resistance. Ultra-thin profile measuring 85.8 × 53.6 × 3.0 mm.
  • Charging: Recharge effortlessly on any Qi or MagSafe wireless charger, with a lifespan of up to 300 recharge cycles. Before first use, fully charge the Tracker Card prior to setup. The indicator light will turn on while charging and turn off once fully charged.
  • Long-Lasting Battery: 110mAh battery delivers up to 5–6 months of use on a full charge.
  • Powerful Locator Ringer: Built-in speaker helps you find your wallet fast, with a range of up to 65 ft (20 m) while connected via Bluetooth.
  • Proximity Notifications: Receive instant notifications when your wallet moves out of range, using Apple Find My™ behavior similar to AirTag push notifications.
  • Apple Find My Compatibility: Track your wallet in real-time, trigger alerts, and enable Lost Mode using the Apple Find My™ network.
  • MFi Certified: Meets Apple’s safety and performance standards for seamless device integration.

Design and Build

The first thing you notice is how thin this thing is. UAG has managed to fit real protection into a card holder that still slides into a front pocket without complaint. The Kevlar inlay isn’t a gimmick either — it’s the same aramid fiber used in body armor, so the wallet shrugs off the daily abuse of keys, coins, and general pocket chaos far better than the leather wallet it replaced on my desk.

A few things stood out with regular use:

  • Holds up to 6 cards and bills comfortably, with a secure hinge closure that keeps everything locked in place
  • Built-in kickstand works in both portrait and landscape, which is genuinely handy for video calls
  • MagSafe compatible via a 2.5mm ultra-strong magnet, so it snaps onto an iPhone and stays put
  • RFID-blocking layer adds a bit of peace of mind when tapping through crowded transit stations

The Tracker Card

Here’s where the Metropolis earns its “smart” label. The included tracker card is MFi certified and works directly through Apple’s Find My network — no separate app, no extra account, just open Find My and there it is alongside your other devices.

Specs-wise, the card packs a 110mAh battery rated for 5-6 months on a single charge, and it recharges wirelessly over Qi or MagSafe, which is a nice touch — no cables, no fiddly ports to wear out. UAG rates it for 300 recharge cycles, which should comfortably outlast the battery anxiety most tracker owners deal with. It’s also IPX4 water resistant, so a spilled coffee or a walk in the rain isn’t going to take it offline.

The card includes a built-in speaker with roughly 65 feet of Bluetooth range, and proximity notifications ping your phone the moment the wallet drifts out of range — useful the one time you actually leave it on a café table.

Final Thoughts

The first thing you notice is how thin this thing is. UAG has managed to fit real protection into a card holder that still slides into a front pocket without complaint. The Kevlar inlay isn’t a gimmick either — it’s the same aramid fibre used in body armour, so the wallet shrugs off the daily abuse of keys, coins, and general pocket chaos far better than the leather wallet it replaced on my desk.

I used this as my daily wallet for a while and the durability claims genuinely hold up. The hinge hasn’t loosened, the Kevlar shows no wear despite being tossed into bags and pockets without any babying, and the MagSafe grip is strong enough that I never worried about it slipping off mid-commute. The tracking side of things works exactly as advertised — Lost Mode kicked in instantly during a test run, and the proximity alert caught me before I’d even noticed the wallet was missing.

If there’s a nitpick, it’s that six cards is a real limit if you’re someone who carries a lot of loyalty cards — this is built for minimalists, not for someone still hauling around a stack of receipts.

The UAG Metropolis Kevlar Wallet with Tracker Card is one of those rare accessories that actually delivers on both halves of its promise: it’s tough, and it’s smart. The Kevlar construction feels genuinely built to last, the MagSafe integration is seamless, and having Find My tracking baked directly into the card rather than bolted on as an afterthought is exactly how this should be done. At £67.00, it’s not the cheapest wallet on the market, but between the material, the tracker hardware, and the peace of mind, it earns its price.

If you’ve ever had that heart-drop moment of patting your pockets and coming up empty, this is well worth a look — highly recommended.
