Kusan: City of Wolves is a game that’ll impress you with its style, but drive you mad with its difficulty. Mistakes are commonplace, and screaming with rage is something that you learn to accept. However, underneath the frustration is a title that makes you smile. It has a brilliant layer of rewarding madness, and I couldn’t put it down.
This visually pleasing top-down shooter was developed by CIRCLEfromDOT and published by PQube Limited. It is a single-player game that has a delightful comic book style. Moreover, the story is captivating, and the action will test you on many levels. Although it drove me insane, I found it to be one of the more fascinating games of 2026.

Kusan: City of Wolves pushes the boundaries.
Kusan: City of Wolves pushes the sci-fi and futuristic edge to the extreme. Moreover, the use of anthropomorphism creates a surreal layer that is as weird as it is great to look at. This strange blend works particularly well, and I love how the cutscenes use comic book panels for a distinct look.
You play the role of Jin, an ex-soldier who is a skilled gun-for-hire. The seedy city he calls home is under threat. A child who possesses immense power is in trouble, and he must save her while tackling an individual he used to trust with his life. The story takes many twists and turns, and fans of comics will enjoy the storytelling and the immense artistry.

Exceptional gameplay mechanics.
Kusan: City of Wolves is a reasonably easy game to understand. Effectively, you must explore each stage and wipe out every foe you face. This is the ultimate goal, and studying each enemy and knowing how they react is the key to success. However, mastering this is no mean feat. With fast-moving foes, you must have razor-sharp reactions if you want to be victorious.
Jin is armed with a knife and a long-range weapon. He must use both to thwart his enemies and stay alive. Alongside this, it is important to master your surroundings because stealth will give you the upper hand. However, it is the upgrade system that is key. You can enhance your deadly tools from the local vendor, but there is a catch. You must unlock space for each segment and the enhancements. This requires different currency and a fair bit of grinding.
Whether you have the best weapons or not, this is a test of reactions and memory. If you cannot recall the location of your enemies, you will fail. If you are slow to throw your knife or find somewhere to hide, you will fail. In fact, anything other than perfection, and you will fail. It is cruel, hard work, but oh so addictive.
Kusan: City of Wolves looks amazing.
I absolutely love the dark and sinister style, the neon-infused futuristic world, and the grim combat. Furthermore, it is unbelievably smooth as the frame rates are consistent, and I experienced no visual issues. Alongside this, the story is told through exceptional cutscenes. The result is an eye-catching game that doesn’t disappoint.
The high-energy, daunting audio personifies the seedy and cruel nature of the action. The music and sound effects are oppressive, dramatic, and uncomfortable. Each weapon has a distinct sound, and the noise of your fallen foes is subtle but impressive. Consequently, this is an aesthetically pleasing experience.

Tight controls.
The controls require some practice and finesse. However, once you get to grips with them, you’ll enjoy the sleek, addictive, and disgusting action. If you are quick, you’ll piece together unlimited combos to improve your score.
The scoring system, huge bosses, and different weapons are what drive you to return for more. Although longevity and replay value are finite, I liked pushing myself to master each level. If the developer incorporates DLC or additional game modes, this will keep you playing for hours.
Kusan: City of Wolves is a brilliant indie game.
Kusan: City of Wolves drove me crazy. The precise action, fast enemies, and tough moments were enough to make me scream. However, I enjoyed every cruel, stylish, and interesting element. Furthermore, it is rewarding despite being tough. Accordingly, I love it and recommend buying it here! Can you save the girl and the world? Study your surroundings, observe your foes, and stay one step ahead.
