There are many fascinating things that I came across during my review like weird areas, great artstyle, cool characters, and an unsettling new world that I truly got to discover. Hi my name is Phant0m and these are my thoughts on… Creepy Tale: Some Other Place.

Visuals

First thing you’ll notice in this game is some of the most compelling and unsettling visuals I’ve set my eyes on! It was truly fascinating to see the drawn visuals of the creepy woods, or other worlds. I truly felt immersed from the get go because there’s also some truly absurd designs in here. Personally in my experience I found; Birds with crazy eyes, headless creatures I can’t begin to describe, orcs, monster looking things and elves? It’s an insane combination of different creatures in such a short amount of time that I couldn’t help but feel lost yet also very fascinated! Furthermore the characters are also very well done, you truly feel like everything is set in a different world.

Gameplay

The gameplay of this game is pretty cool, you walk around different areas expected to solve puzzles, and most of these puzzles are fun, as long as you actually understand them… Me personally…. I struggled a lot, I don’t know if I’m just super slow but I struggled on so many of the puzzles because I simply couldn’t understand what they wanted me to do. Besides that you can’t really do much besides explore and go through the story. Speaking of which! I do want to mention that I love how interactive the game feels! Every character feels funny or weird and wacky and I absolutely love it!

Story

The story of this game impressed me a ton, especially with its skills in presentation! And it also had an unsettling nature. One that I couldn’t get used to and not in a bad way. This game truly follows the most random set of events, first you’re having dinner with the family. Next you go out to another world. And lastly you learn things about that world and get given a reason to stay there. It’s truly weird, wacky, and fun! I know the explanation sounds simple but it’s truly a bit more in depth.

Characters/Music

When it comes to the characters there were a few highlights, personally the mc and an old man you encounter throughout the game were easily my favorite, and there’s not really a bad character…… until I met an old lady.. an old lady that forced me to rub her feet to progress the storyline. Which…. Just no. Please. The music was also very nice, I wouldn’t listen to it on my own time, but I think it perfectly fits the atmosphere. And a big highlight was controlling some singing of creatures where you get to hear some pretty beautiful singing from some ugly creatures.

Performance

The performance of the game was pretty nice! I didn’t run into issues, no crashes, no glitches, no nothing. And this review was done on an RX 6750 XT Power color and an Intel i5 13400f PC. Last thing I’d like to mention is that the controller support is awesome!

Verdict

Anyways if you’re wondering if I do recommend this game, what can I say? The experience I came out with was more than worth it. It’s fun, weird and unsettling. What more could I ask for? I give it an 8.5/10. The only problems lie in the fact that I wanted more, more puzzles, more story, and also I’d love a bit more creepiness to keep the namesake. Anyways those were my thoughts on Creepy tale: some other place. Thanks for Reading! 🙂
