My video review with footage captured using my Xbox Series X.

Truck and Logistics Simulator is a relaxing and enjoyable game. However, its lack of depth prevents it from truly excelling. Yet, if you love heavy machinery and you dream of hauling goods across a vast landscape, then this will pique your interest. Moreover, its range of custom options and vehicles will impress you.

This transport simulation title was developed by Simula Games UG and published by Aerosoft GmbH. Furthermore, it can be played alone or online with 23 other players. Accordingly, I believe this is where it will shine. If you can drag like-minded individuals into your online world, you can work together in convoys to deliver every consignment. Moreover, there is scope for ultra-realistic role-play or mindless fun. As such, there are plenty of possibilities.

Drive your lorry and transport that heavy load.
What a big load you have.

Truck and Logistics Simulator has no story.

Though this genre isn’t renowned for its storytelling capabilities, I always live in hope. Yet, Truck and Logistics Simulator follows its peers by having next to no story at all. This was disappointing, but it doesn’t taint the end product too much. Subsequently, you are free to create your own stories and ideas whenever you play with friends.

The action revolves around an inexperienced driver who wishes to get rich. However, with limited resources, you must purchase an inexpensive vehicle and get to work. Yet, with hard work and patience, you can invest in monstrous machines and undertake epic contracts. Consequently, you’ll soon make a name for yourself whilst getting rich at the same time.

Limited quests.

Though there are over 30 unique vehicles to choose from, the jobs and quests are very similar. This was unfortunate as it will put off all but the most enthusiastic of players. However, if you can stomach the repetitive gameplay, you’ll love the driving experience, the vast world, and the large vehicles at your disposal.

You are free to explore the massive open-world map. Yet, to increase your roster of vehicles, you must complete an array of transportation jobs. Whether you are towing a trailer, caravan, or generator, or you are hauling a big load, the mechanics are the same. At first, you must hitch up your goods or load them using a forklift. After this, you’ll follow a defined route that takes you to your goal.

En route, you must avoid other road users and abide by the rules of the road. If you fail to do this, you’ll be fined, your vehicle will become damaged, and you can be penalised for breaking your cargo. Consequently, it is best to stay alert and stick to the speed limits.

Work together and form a convoy.
Convoy time.

Customisation, collectables, and gas.

What I loved about Truck and Logistics Simulator was the freedom to customise every vehicle. You can change the lights, the bodywork, the dash, and much more. As such, you can pimp your ride however you like. This was great as you’ll stand out from the crowd and highlight your personality whenever you play online.

Alongside this, the developers have hidden 50 golden palettes across the vast world. If you find these collectables, you earn a nice cash bonus to invest in a new car, repairs, or fuel.

Talking of repairs and fuel, you do not want your vehicles to run out of gas! Accordingly, you must use the petrol stations and repair shops to keep your van or truck running. What was strange, was your vehicle would be automatically repaired at the beginning of every mission. Consequently, this reduced a layer of realism whilst undermining a key mechanic.

Truck and Logistics Simulator looks great.

This genre can be rough around the edges. However, Truck and Logistics Simulator looks great. The vehicles have fantastic attention to detail and the surroundings are varied and interesting to look at. Moreover, the road layout and open world are well-designed. Subsequently, no matter how much you play, you won’t get bored of what you see.

The developers have done an amazing job with the audio. Though the lack of a relaxing soundtrack was unforgivable. For reasons unknown, there is no music whatsoever! This was disappointing and a bizarre choice. However, the sound effects were loud, aggressive, and realistic. Furthermore, each vehicle sounded unique and tunnels and other enclosed spaces enhanced the meaty roar of each engine.

Use your car to tow a caravan.
What a wonderful place to take your caravan.

The controls could have been better.

Unfortunately, the controls were a little wayward. The sensitivity was somewhat off and this caused you to oversteer and understeer like crazy. However, once you get used to the finer details, you shouldn’t struggle with this issue. Alongside this, the controller mapping is a little unusual and it takes time to get used to it.

Where Truck and Logistics Simulator will excel is the online action. The ability to play with others as you drive across this monstrous open world will be fascinating. Moreover, I predict you’ll lose hours of your life as you explore every nook and cranny of this lush world.

Truck and Logistics Simulator is divisive.

If you love online gaming and the simulation genre, then you’ll adore Truck and Logistics Simulator. However, if you want a deep and fulfilling offline title, then you may not be so impressed. Consequently, this will divide its audience. As such, I wish there were more business elements and better offline gameplay. However, despite the shortcomings, I enjoyed what I experienced and I recommend that you buy it here! Can you run a successful company? Purchase your vehicles, undertake plenty of jobs, and leave no stone unturned.
