It seems fitting that the release date for the highly anticipated Shenmue III has been revealed on the day that the remasters for Shenmue and Shenmue II have been released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
As part of the annual Gamescom convention revered industry veteran Yu Suzuki and his team at Ys Net has revealed that Shenmue III will be released on the 27th August 2019 on PlayStation 4 and PC. That is still about a year away until fans of the franchise can find out what happens after the end of the second game, but at least they finally have something to look forward to, after years of hoping for a revival of the franchise.
The Ys Net team has also released a brand new trailer to give fans a better look at what to expect in Ryo’s third outing.
