It seems like Supermassive Games is keen on scaring more gamers as it teams up with Bandai Namco to deliver a brand new horror anthology called The Dark Pictures on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC – starting with Man of Medan.

Fans of the horror genre should be very excited given the quality of Supermassive Games developed titles Until Dawn and its PlayStation VR spin-offs Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and the The Inpatient. The Dark Pictures is a similar concept to cult TV show Channel Zero, in that each game is a completely different experience with its own story, setting and set of characters. Players will be able to play as each of the five characters in the Man of Medan game and see the story unfold from a different perspective.

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is about a group of young Americans who foolishly go on a boat trip to try to find a World War II wreckage and end up finding more than they bargained for. As is expected with a title from Supermassive Games, players can expect to be able to make multiple choices that will affect the outcome of the story and the fate of the characters.

“We are incredibly excited to announce the Dark Pictures anthology and the first game in the series – Man of Medan. With each title being a standalone game, we have the opportunity to create a unique horror experience every time, with new stories, settings, characters and cast. As a studio we have a passion to deliver powerful cinematic horror, and we can’t wait for players to experience these new games across PS4, XBOX and PC. We have a great partner in Bandai Namco Entertainment and we look forward to working with them to help bring these terrifying tales to gamers everywhere”, said Pete Samuels -CEO Supermassive Games and Executive Producer of The Dark Pictures.

For now here is a trailer showcasing what to expect in the first title of this promising horror anthology.

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan will be released at some point in 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Might even happen around Halloween to make it extra spooky.
