On April 20^th, 2010, the world’s largest man-made disaster occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. Based on an article by David Barstow, David Rohde and Stephanie Saul published in the New York Times, this story honours the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone’s lives forever.

From acclaimed director Peter Berg (Patriot’s Day, Lone Survivor), DEEPWATER HORIZON also features a stellar cast, including Mark Wahlberg (Lone Survivor, The Fighter), Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, Bone Tomahawk), John Malkovich (Zoolander 2, RED 2), Gina Rodriguez (TV’s Jane The Virgin), and Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner, TV’s Teen Wolf). An unflinchingly tense depiction of a uniquely human story, DEEPWATER HORIZON is at once a brilliant action thriller and the first, best reason to hit the shops this January!

Hoping to win – Oil Rigs are fascinating to me…. my cousin had a boyfriend who claimed to work on an oil rig meaning he was away weeks at a time, but it turned out he didn’t and in fact he was married with children. True story. Make a film about THAT Wahlberg 😉
