2K and Turtle Rock Studios announced today that Jack, a new Trapper class Hunter, and a free new Arena Mode map are now available for Evolve, the 4v1 shooter in which four Hunters cooperatively fight to take down a single-player controlled Monster. Jack is available individually or as part of Hunting Season 2*, which also includes Lennox (Assault class), alongside one new Monster and two additional Hunter characters. All Hunting Season 2 content will be made available before Take-Two Interactive, Inc.’s fiscal year ends on March 31, 2016.
Jack, who refers to himself as The Jackal, joins the Evolve lineup with an all-new set of abilities and weapons. Jack dual-wields pistols, tracks and traps the Monster with a hacked Survey Satellite that locates enemies, and uses his Repulsor gloves to stop Monsters in their tracks.
Murder Pits, a free new map featuring a giant pit-fighting stadium designed exclusively for Arena Mode, is also available today. Each arena on the map presents a different, unique challenge to players, for example:
- ‘Jail’ houses dangerous wildlife, freed by doors that open randomly;
- ‘Outhouse’ is a straightforward arena encouraging players to control the high ground;
- ‘Quarry’ carves out a tall, narrow environment stacked with rooms;
- ‘Saloon’ features a series of rooms surrounding a deadly Tyrant pool;
- ‘Laughter House’ contains two chambers separated by a wall that can only be opened by the Monster player.
Additionally, Turtle Rock Studios is introducing Hunt 2.0 to Evolve today, providing significant improvements to the popular Hunt mode user experience with improved matchmaking, revamped leaderboards, and more. In Hunt 2.0, players can choose to play exclusively as a Monster or Hunter, and will never join a match already in progress.
Evolve Hunting Season 2 is currently available for purchase for £19.99 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC. Those who purchase the new Monster and Hunters as part of Hunting Season 2 will also receive an additional exclusive skin with the launch of each of the five new playable characters included. Murder Pits and Hunt 2.0 are available to all Evolve players, absolutely free.
