Today Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 has sold more than 6 million units worldwide since launch which includes the Japanese launch last month.
The PlayStation 4 has sold 370,000 units in its native Japan, hitting sales of 322,083 during its first two days, when it launched on 22nd February.
The PS4 is now available in 57 countries, but stock has been limited in many territories, because a lot of people are still trying to get hold of a PlayStation 4.
Sony’s Andrew House said that he was “absolutely delighted that PS4 is off to such a great start in Japan”.
“The responses we have received for the PS4 system’s integrated social capabilities have been phenomenal, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that gamers are utilising these unique features to engage, share, play and connect with users around the world.

They nailed it. They offered detached, offline, solo, single player experience for those who don’t want all the fuss and bother of the online / social stuff.
But have the social, online integration there seamless for those who want it.
Well played Sony. I wish more companies would do this – instead of that one or the other mentality.
