Gameplay
Pass blocking works more fluidly, and you see things like lineman reacting to pick up blitzes. As for run blocking, lineman pull realistically, and if you hit the wrong hole, you will get stuffed. Run and pass blocking are improved since the last version of the game, and even situations like pulling guards work better. Receivers also do a better job and coming down inbounds when catching a pass at the sideline.
The playbooks included are realistic and represent what the teams really do. Since I grew up a Cleveland Browns fan, I’ve been playing as the Browns against the AFC North, and Madden 25 has done a great job modeling the capabilities of the teams in the AFC North. Give Ben Roethlisberger too much time in the pocket while playing man-to-man coverage and he will light you up, just like on Sundays in the real world. Since pass and run blocking has improved, you have to be more careful with play selection; blitz at the wrong time and you can easily get burned.
Once the ball is handed off to the runner, you now have to accelerate into the right hole and use all of your skills in evading the tacklers. Do it correctly and you break it open for a long run. Make a mistake and you get slammed for a loss of yards. Just like the real world!
Madden 25 has done an excellent job in creating a world where the NFL is modeled realistically. You will learn about the game of football playing this video game, and if you make the right decisions, you’ll have plenty of fun!
Visual Performance
The next gen PS4 is brought to bear here. EA Sports has delivered a gaming simulation that looks like a real NFL broadcast, with graphics resolution that is simply stunning. The realism of the game is significantly improved in the next gen version.
Crowds now react to big plays, and the game narration provided by the broadcasters is also improved. If you make a mistake like forcing a pass into double coverage, the broadcasters will call you on it. I enjoyed that.
Lighting and weather effects are improved. I played a game in Cleveland and chose snow as the weather; you could see the snowflakes coming down realistically. Lighting and shade is rendered much more realistically.
Sharing
The PS4 and XBOX One both allow for sharing of your video gameplay. The PS4 shares live video to Twitch and gameplay video to Facebook. I prefer the XBOX One’s sharing as you can save the video to SkyDrive and then edit it; sharing to Facebook only gives you the ability to share on your timeline. Regardless, tap the share button during gameplay and the PS4 allows you to upload that video and it works well. No more video capture equipment required! This works well across all next gen titles including this one!

Overall Evaluation
If you are a football fan and want more football action for your next gen console, Madden 25 is a great option. The video production value resembles a real broadcast, and with continued improvements to the game mechanics like blocking and receiver actions, this iteration improves on an already excellent gaming experience. I award Madden 25 a 5/5 Gold Award and highly recommend that you try it!

I bought the game on release day. And loved it. And recommend that you buy it if you are a football fan and have a PS4. It’s that simple.
