Batman: Arkham Origins has been rumoured to feature a multiplayer mode. The Warner Bros Montreal game will be the first in the franchise to do so, according to Kotaku.
A source has claimed that one section of the multiplayer mode will see gamers take on the role of members of the Joker or Bane’s gang to go up against Batman and Robin.
The same source previously informed Kotaku correctly about the game’s title and its setting on Christmas Eve. Warner Bros refused to comment on the rumour.
The Arkham Asylum prequel will feature villains including Black Mask, Deathstroke, Alberto Falcone and the Penguin.
Arkham Origins will be based around similar mechanics to the previous two instalments, along with new moves and gadgets for the Dynamic Duo.
It is the first game that will not be developed by Rocksteady Studios. Batman: Arkham Origins will arrive on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on October 25.
