LG will release a successor to its Optimus G smartphone in the UK during the third or fourth quarter of 2013, according to a report. The high-end device is expected to challenge the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Apple’s next iPhone in the territory, according to Pocket-lint.
LG is yet to release a flagship Optimus handset in Britain, but the Korean firm’s head of mobile Won Kim has revealed plans to “attack” the market with the upcoming device.
“The G2 is going to be something different, something unique,” he said during a press conference. “It’s what we intend to attack the UK market with.”
The current LG Optimus, which runs Android 4.1.2 and packs a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, is available only in South Korea, Japan, Canada and the US.
