On the front of the device is a large blue button/light.
On the rear of the device are the two drive bays, plus the power connector, power switch and the LAN port, USB 2.0 port and the eSATA port.
The drives are easily removable with the plastic key (or anything else to honest) – they then just slide out. What was a really good move on the part of LaCie is that the drives are numbered 1 and 2 so you can’t put them back in the wrong bays!
For this review unit we had 2 x 3TB drives – very nice!
Initial Configuration
The initial configuration consists of two elements – connecting it up and switching it on, and installing the Network Assistant software.
To install the software just pop in the CD and click Run.
The CD contains some applications, documents and a product list.
So click on Applications, then LaCie Network Assistant. Then just follow through the steps in the wizard to complete the installation.

thanks for the detailed review. just purchased one for my company, looking forward to setting it up!
