Using the Z830
When you first use the Z830 you can see a lot of additional applications installed. To be honest I find a lot of these apps get removed pretty much straight away, but for some people they might be useful.
There are a number of power options with the Z830.
There are the usual High Performance, Power Save and Balanced plans which are standard in Windows, and also a power plan called eco, which is a Toshiba specific plan recommended for maximum energy saving.
There is also a Toshiba Battery Manager application that enables to you change charge modes depending on how you use and chare your Ultrabook.
This is how Toshiba describe battery life for the Z830:
The Z830 offers up to 8 hours battery life, for all day use without having to recharge the battery. The latest battery technology also means that the Z830 battery has a longer life span and will last for more re-charges than a standard battery. This will give you a longer lasting battery over time meaning you will still experience good battery life run times throughout the life of the laptop. A new eco mode utility also enables you to extend the life span of the battery by a further 30-40%. Battery life is further enhanced by the use of energy efficient components and a higher capacity integrated battery.
It is worth spending a few minutes tweaking your power and battery modes to suit your individual needs and requirements.
