One of the very first computers I got to play with as a child was the BBC Microcomputer – the BBC Micro B and now it’s the 30th Birthday of this computer.

I have a lot of very fond memories of the BBC Micro B, ranging from playing Elite and Spitfire, not to mention one of my all time favourite games which was Castle Quest, to using the “PROC PUGWASH” command once you had broken out of the loading sequence for Frak!

Good times!

Do you have memories of the BBC Microcomputer? If so, why not share them with us….

  1. I too cut my computing teeth on the BBC Micro, whether it was learning programming in BBC BASIC or playing Elite and a host of other great games. Who knows, without the BBC Micro would we have the ARM designed chips in our phones and tablets today?
