While I was with the WHS group at ShowStoppers 2011, I got to spend a few minutes with the new 11.6” dm1 HP Notebook. This $449 laptop is less than an inch thick and runs on the new AMD Fusion. With 8 plus hours of battery life (10 plus hours with the optional SSD) and a sleek thin design, this laptop could easily dominate its segment in the coming year. Check out a few pictures and specs from CES 2011.
HP plans to release this Notebook tomorrow, January 9th, 2011. At $449 this laptop is going to make a big mark this year.
HP dm1 Specs
Every time I get to try a PC at CES 2011 I ask the representative if I can look at the system properties. They always say yes and have no idea what information they give away. As you can see below the dm1 has:
- AMD Fusion Engineering CPU
- 64-bit Windows 7
- 4 GB of RAM
- WEI of 3.8 (Graphics was lowest)
- Less than an inch think
- Just over 3 lbs.
The front tapers down like a Mac Air. The display is very thin.
I asked the guy next to me to hold it up so the picture is not that good but you can see how thin it is.
Again, this great notebook will be released Sunday, January 9th, 2011 so be sure to check out HP.com or your local retailer to see this beautiful notebook.
Check back with us for more on CES 2011.

Will their be a model with a larger screen? My mother-in-law needs a new notebook, and this may very well be what she needs?
