Enhanced Experience 2.0, the second generation of the Windows 7 performance and optimisation program for PCs preloaded with Windows 7 originated by Lenovo, features improved and industry-leading Windows start-up and shutdown performance and other optimisation features for Lenovo consumer and business PCs. Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 will come on a wide range of Think and Idea-branded PCs beginning in Q1 2011.

Key Benefits

Customers can start their Lenovo PC on average 20 seconds faster than a typical Windows 7 computer2 thanks to Lenovo RapidBoot technology featured on all Enhanced Experience 2.0 PCs.

On select Lenovo EE 2.0 PCs with optional RapidDrive SSD technology, users can start their PCs in less than 10 seconds, 1 and open applications two times faster. Lenovo PCs with boot times under 10 seconds include the new IdeaPad Y570 and Y470 laptops.

Idea-branded PCs with Enhanced Experience 2.0 are optimised for consumers for multimedia with Enhanced Digital Audio and HD graphics.

Think-branded PCs are optimised for businesses with robust security tools and rich Web conferencing features.

“Since the launch of Enhanced Experience, the feedback worldwide has been straightforward – ‘we want more!’” said Dion Weisler, vice president, business operations, Lenovo. “We believe the Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 will offer even greater value for business users who value how the performance advantages of ‘EE’ can be deployed across their entire fleet, and consumers who just love the fact that their PC can start-up faster.”

Customers can identify Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 PCs through a special Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 certification sticker affixed to them. All Enhanced Experience 2.0 PCs feature RapidBoot technology, which uses a range of proprietary optimisation techniques to deliver even faster start-up and shutdown. With RapidBoot technology, Lenovo PCs start up on average 20 seconds faster than a typical Windows 7 PC2 and offer 28 percent faster shutdown speeds2. Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 PCs with optional RapidDrive SSD technology perform even faster by using a Solid State Drive in addition to, or instead of, a regular hard drive (varies by model). RapidDrive SSD technology offers two times faster application performance3 and even faster Windows 7 performance, including boot up times in less than 10 seconds on select Idea PCs.

Lenovo Idea-branded PCs with Enhanced Experience 2.0 feature optimised multimedia with Enhanced Digital Audio and HD graphics as standard. Enhanced Digital Audio includes a range of audio features such as Dolby® or SRS® audio, JBL® speakers, enlarged speaker chambers, surround-sound output and vibration-reducing speaker designs.

Think-branded PCs with Enhanced Experience 2.0 offer robust security features and rich Web conferencing. Security tools4 include a fingerprint reader that can be used to power-on the PC, optional self-encrypting hard drives, BIOS port lock settings and Hardware Password Manager for deploying security features across a fleet of PCs. Meanwhile, features such as high-definition webcams with advanced white-balancing settings, digital array microphones with a speakerphone mode, and keystroke noise suppression technology that automatically detects when a user types during video chats and suppresses the noise of keystrokes, deliver a rich Web conferencing experience.
