Microsoft has today quietly released the final version of the Windows Live Essentials 2011 Suite of software.
If you don’t know what Windows Live Essentials is, here is how Microsoft describe them:
Windows Live Essentials includes free programs from Microsoft for photos, movies, instant messaging, e-mail, blogging, and more. Get them all in one download and get more done with Windows.
Windows Live Essentials requires Windows 7 or Windows Vista. Learn how to upgrade from Windows XP. It includes versions of Messenger, Photo Gallery, Mail, Movie Maker, Writer, Family Safety, and Sync, plus Bing Bar and Messenger Companion. You also get Microsoft Office Outlook Connector Pack and Microsoft Silverlight.
We mentioned the Windows Live Essentials beta earlier in the year.
Downloading and installing Windows Live Essentials 2011 was simple and a lot quicker that the beta.
You can download the installation software from here. You will need to uninstall the Windows Live Essentials Beta if you had it installed before you install the final version.
And Mesh is in there too!
While there's lots to like about the Suite, if you're a photographer who uses metadata in your photos, then be aware that Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011 will mess with your location metadata. See

Hi,
I am having a problem with an update for Windows Live Essentials 2011 (KB2434419) .
When I try to install the updates for only the parts that are installed, it gets
66% into the installation, installing Messenger and then says there is a problem
and that one part of the update cannot install so nothing is updated, it then says
"wait while we put everything back how we found it". After everything is back to
normal I get a message that says,
"Couldn't install these programs, Messenger, mail, photo gallery, movie maker and writer.
Error 0x8004009
Source Messenger
How can I get over this problem please?
I am using the latest Mozilla Firefox browser and AOL e-mail.
Thanks
Roger
Hi Roger
In the past when I have had similar issues I have used System Restore to get me back and then I tried again.
If that doesnt work you could try removing WLE completely and doing a clean install?
