USING THE DS110+
Once the drive is in place and the cables connected, all you have to do is power up and put the software disc in your computer.
When you have to select the file, make sure you choose the DS110+ software as there are 3 different models available on the disk,
Also make sure that the drive you are using doesn’t contain anything you want to keep.
Then it is just a case of sitting back and waiting – the whole process only takes a few minutes.
And that is it – the box is ready and you can sign into the DiskStation Manager.
And you can also see more information on your system:
Like the previous reviews we did, the software enables you to use various capabilities, depending on what you want and need.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The DS110+ comes with the latest 2.3 firmware, which means you don’t have to perform an update to get the latest version (at the time of writing).
This all sounds very familiar if you have read our previous reviews – that’s because Synology make it very easy for you and include the same simple to use interface with all their devices.
The DS110+ is very quiet – and can be more even quieter if you use a green drive. It was very simple to set up – and whilst I wasn’t a huge fan of the slide off top to fit the drive, it wasn’t difficult to do, and maybe most people won’t be swapping out drives on a regular basis so it may not be an issue for them.
I found the DS110+ to be very fast and I was very happy with all of its capabilities.
If you are in the market for a single bay NAS device, with numerous capabilities then take a look at this little beauty.
Cost wise, here in the UK it retails for under £275.
