Here’s what Dave has to say about the show this week:

The Home Server Show 70 – News and Year End Review

This is the last episode of the year and we go over a little news and reminisce about 2009.  It’s not your boring old rehash of old topics though.  We have a lot of fun with this show and somehow manage to keep it Windows Home Server related!  Happy New Year to all and we wish you a fun and prosperous 2010.

  1. I have this problem: remote access doesn't work because my isp blocks incoming ports 80 and 443. So I have to do a portforward in my router to make it work. But WHS doesn't detect this portforward and keeps saying that remote access doesn't work although using the forwarded ports in the URL gives me access to my WHS.

Maybe it would be interesting that the WHS development team takes a look at this and gives users who's isp is blocking ports the possibility to alter these ports within the WHS console so they also can have green checkmarks when they check their remote access in the console.

For me it works now but it annoyes me to see red checkmarks because only ports 80 and 443 are checked by the WHS console

    • Hi

There are a number of posted articles on different sites on how to resolve this issue – and yes, it is a real pain.

Do a search on Google, failing that why dont you post the question on our forums so it can be answered properly?

      Andrew
