It seems that the problem is just that too many people are hitting Apple’s servers to get the update.
The problem is that in my case, my phone is left in the “connect to iTunes” state and isn’t usable. Now to get my backup restored so at least I can get my phone usable again and then try the update another time!
Oh, it seems iTunes will only restore my backup AFTER it performs the update to iOS 5, which it can’t do right now. Great – no usable phone!
Are you having problems?
Today Seagate introduced a new GoFlex device – the Cinema Multimedia Drive.
Here is what they said:
GoFlex Cinema™ Multimedia Drive for Large Screen Enjoyment of Digital Video and Pictures
PARIS, France — 12 October 2011— Seagate (NASDAQ:STX) today unveiled the latest way to bring digital entertainment to the television with the GoFlex Cinema™ multimedia drive. This new high-capacity drive is designed to transform the television into a digital media center. The drive comes equipped with all of the port connections and support for popular file formats that make it easy to start enjoying movies, music and photos away from the computer environment. The long time challenge of migrating digital video and pictures from the personal computer to the entertainment center has now been resolved with the GoFlex Cinema multimedia drive. The streamlined industrial design is modeled after the new GoFlex Desk high-capacity drives announced earlier this month. The GoFlex Cinema drive is now available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB capacities from consumer electronics retailers and online resellers across Europe.
With support for MKV, H.264 and MP4, the GoFlex Cinema multimedia drive will allow you to play back the majority of video formats in 1080 HD quality. This high-capacity drive can be used as a home for all your media needs. Load it up with content and then connect it to your home theater for hours of entertainment. Additionally, digital photos and video can be moved to the drive without the use of a computer. Simply connect a digital camera to GoFlex Cinema multimedia drive and transfer the files directly from the camera. Then, with the included remote control, simply sit back and enjoy the slide show. The intuitive graphical interface makes it a breeze to find the files you wish to enjoy and all this is done from the comfort of your sofa.
First debuted in May of 2010, the award-winning GoFlex® Family of hard drives provide an alternative approach to external storage solutions by allowing users to change interface adapters to stay current with the latest in interface technology. With USB 3.0 still undergoing adoption and the emergence of Thunderbolt™ technology in the coming months, the GoFlex adapter concept has been proven as an idea that works and Seagate will continue with this design for future iterations of the company’s external hard drives . The GoFlex drives are also Windows and Mac OSX compatible and have the flexibility to go between both operating systems. The GoFlex Cinema multimedia drive as part of this GoFlex storage system is designed to grow with your needs. As your media library grows, upgrade the built-in storage with a higher capacity GoFlex Desk drive.
GoFlex Cinema Multimedia Drive
The new home for all of your digital media files, GoFlex Cinema multimedia drive, is now widely available in the European region for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of €99 for 1TB, €129 for 2TB and €179 for 3TB.

Today CloudBerry released an updated CloudBerry Backup add-in (v2.4) for WHS v1, WHS v2011 and SBS v2011 Essentials with the block level updates for all files.
Here is what CloudBerry say:
CloudBerry Online Backup is a powerful Windows program that automates backup and restore processes to Amazon S3 , Windows Azure, Google and other cloud storages. Cloudberry Backup is perfect for small and mid-sized businesses looking for simple and reliable online backup solution.
As always we are adding features to make it easier for our customers to use the functionality and the Block Level Backup has always been one of the sought after features. With the CloudBerry Backup release 2.3 we have added the functionality that would back up only the modified blocks of the files to the cloud storage making the overall backup process faster and more efficient. This feature had one serious limitation -you could only take advantage of it for files larger than 5GB.
With the new release v2.4 we are introducing Block Level Backup option for the files of any size. Moreover this feature comes with the ability to do encryption, compression and versioning which was also a limitation of the previous release.
Block Level Backup is useful if you want to backup large files such as SQL Server Backup files, MS Exchange Database, Outlook PST files and virtual machine images.
To use Block Level Backup for all size of files you should choose the Advanced Mode in the Backup Wizard. Also, check Use block level backup checkbox.

Even start a conversation on one of your iOS devices and pick up where you left off on another.
