Review: Lenovo Legion Glasses

The Lenovo Legion Glasses are the company’s first foray into AR wearable tech, and honestly, they’ve pretty much nailed it. They’re astonishingly good; you’d expect nothing less for the price. When it comes to smart glasses, you need versatility, reliable connectivity, comfort, and a design that won’t make you feel foolish for wearing them out and about. Thankfully, Lenovo has followed through and pretty much covered all these requirements.

What are the Legion Glasses For?

There’s no denying that the Lenovo Legion Glasses are an expensive and niche product, but now that I’ve tested them, I get it. AR glasses have become a big thing, with plenty of manufacturers trying to develop something stylish, effective, and useful for consumers looking for something a bit different. Lenovo really started strong with its first entry into the market. However, these aren’t AR in the strictest sense; if the room is bright enough, you’ll be able to see bits of it, but these are predominately wearable screens.

The glasses are bulky but look good, and most importantly, they work fantastically well. They allow you to see an incredible 86-inch screen when you plug it into your device. Remember that they don’t work with everything with a USB-C port, so research. I paired them with my Lenovo Legion Go, and it was game-changing. Now, my on-the-go productivity and gaming can benefit from a far larger screen that moves with my head and allows for far more comfort and screen real estate. Being able to use the device in bed if I can’t be bothered to get up, well, that’s just an added bonus. It’s also great if you want more privacy when out in public and don’t want people to see your screen.

Build Quality

The Lenovo Legion Glasses feel incredibly premium. Made with metal and high-quality plastics, they feel sleek and smooth, definitely on the bulky side, but overall, they have a great feel and look. I particularly the attention to detail. The glasses feature chromed hinges stamped with the Lenovo logo, adjustable rubberised tips, and a blacked-out lens. From the front, they look like a premium pair of sunglasses. I was worried about the bulk of the glasses, that they would feel uncomfortable on the face, and thankfully, this wasn’t a problem. Not only that, but they were surprisingly lightweight.

The hard carry case also feels premium, with its woven texture and soft fabric lining to ensure the glasses won’t be scratched. I like that it includes a cable pouch, but I wish the USB-C cable could be detached from the glasses for better storage.

Display Quality

Quality matters with any display technology. Thankfully, the Legion Glasses come through thanks to the micro-OLED HD display. They feature 1080p resolution per eye and are fixed at a 60hz refresh rate. While the Legion Go’s screen features an impressive 144hz refresh rate, I barely noticed the difference, but I did appreciate a vibrant, beautifully large display to look at. This was especially true if I was gaming on the sofa and didn’t want to keep holding up the Legion Go (it’s heavy!) or to enjoy a far bigger screen while working away from home. The glasses delivered. It’s like walking around with an 86-inch television strapped to your eyes.

The colours and clarity were fantastic throughout my testing in various mediums, whether doing light Photoshop work, watching a movie, or just kicking back and playing a few games.

You do get a bit of blur around the edges, and it can be finicky to find the best fit to minimise this, but once you do, you’ll take them everywhere.

Features

One of my favourite inclusions is spare lenses that fit on top of the primary ones. These have a purpose, though—you can get personalised prescriptions to fit the template and no longer need to worry about wearing your regular glasses underneath the Legion Glasses. It is possible to wear some glasses underneath, but it depends on your frame. Mine are chunky, so they didn’t fit. You also get some adjustable nose pads and anti-slip adapters to mix and match for the best comfort.

The glasses also feature a few well-placed buttons that enable Blue Light Mode, adjust the volume and brightness, and toggle the display off or on.

What surprised me was how impressive the speaker quality was. Sure, if you’re out and about, you’ll probably still want to use headphones, but when you’re at home, in a hotel, or somewhere you won’t annoy people, the speakers are crisp, clear, and give you amazing sound quality. I prefer the speakers on the Legion Glasses over the Legion Go itself.

When these turned up, the idea of travelling light worried me, as I assumed it would be another gadget I’d need to charge with another cable and plug. I was wrong. They supposedly only draw 2w of power, and this, along with the data transfer, is all done via the attached USB-C cable.

What’s in the Box?

  • Legion Glasses
  • 3x Adjustable Nose Pads
  • Carrying Case
  • Prescription lens frame
  • Anti-slip Adapter
  • Cleaning Cloth

Final Thoughts on the Lenovo Legion Glasses

The Lenovo Legion Glasses are an incredible piece of wearable tech. With vibrant, crisp images, incredible speakers, and a premium build, they are the perfect companion to the Lenovo Legion Go. They’ll work pretty much with any device that uses a USB-C port and give you a big-screen experience on the go or a more comfortable screen experience when at home and not sitting at a desk. If you’re looking for a bigger screen on the go, these are the ones.

The Lenovo Legion Glasses are available now for £343.99, and more information is available on the Lenovo website.

Review: Fortnite Peely Wired Earbuds

The Fortnite Peely Wired Earbuds from PowerA are perfect for Nintendo Switch gamers. Moreover, their garish style is ideal if you love this fast-paced and often hectic shooting game. Consequently, if you invest in these earbuds, you can show the world how much you love Fortnite. If you adore bonus items, PowerA has chucked in a code for a virtual item. Therefore, you can enjoy some in-game content as part of the package.

These lightweight and wired earbuds are ideal for gamers of all ages. Thanks to the choice of ear tips, you know you’ll get a decent seal and the best sound quality possible. Additionally, there is an in-line microphone and switch system to mute your chat or enhance your comms with your teammates. Finally, there is a low-profile 3.5mm audio jack and a handy cable tidy to prevent damage.

What’s in the box of the Fortnite Peely Wired Earbuds?

  • The small packaging is attractive and robust. What’s more, it is recyclable and it highlights key selling points.
  • The Fortnite Peely Wired Earbuds are fantastic to look at. Fortnite fans will go crazy for the vivid design and excellent build quality.
  • Spare silicone ear tips ensure you get the best connection.
  • Keep the device safe in the colourful drawstring bag.
  • Learn the basics with the starter manual.

Technical aspects.

At first glance, I was amazed by the incredible art style and the vivid colour palette. However, it doesn’t matter how great a pair of earbuds looks if the audio quality is horrible. Thankfully, the Fortnite Peely Wired Earbuds do great with their tonal range. What’s more, the microphone quality is nicely rounded and there were no complaints from my teammates. Unlike its peers, I didn’t experience any popping or echoed feedback. Furthermore, the in-line microphone switch worked perfectly when I needed to mute the conversation.

Though the 8mm in-built speakers don’t seem all that powerful, they were pretty impressive. The tonal range was decent, and I had no complaints when listening to in-game audio or music. Furthermore, I noticed no crackling whenever the volume was cranked up. Subsequently, I enjoyed a pleasant range of lows, mids, and highs. Additionally, the bass wasn’t overpowering, so you could keep the volume levels a little lower.

Build quality.

Wired earbuds are as weak as the cable provided. Luckily, the slim rubberised cable appears to be robust. Moreover, the connection to the ear tips is strong and hard-wearing. Alongside this, the in-line switch is easy to locate and use. Consequently, if you need to mute your microphone in the heat of the battle, you won’t need to take your eye off the ball.

The design of the right-angled low-profile audio jack was a stroke of genius. This compact design reduces the risk of damaging both the jack port and the jack. Subsequently, you can rest assured that there is less chance of an accident whenever your kids use their Switch and these earbuds. Another element I liked was the colourful drawstring bag. This eye-catching extra is a great way to keep the earbuds safe whenever they are not in use. Additionally, the stitching is good, and the material is strong and vibrant.

Are the Fortnite Peely Wired Earbuds worth it?

There are plenty of great earbuds, headphones, and other audio devices for your gaming consoles or mobile phones. However, if you love Fortnite, your options are somewhat limited. Thankfully, the Fortnite Peely Wired Earbuds are a decent choice if you want a straightforward but striking accessory. Moreover, they deliver pleasant audio and clear comms. Finally, let’s not forget the excellent build quality. As such, I like these vibrant earbuds and I recommend buying them here!

Review: Magic Chaos

0

Magic Chaos is a 4v4 pvp bullet hell PC game. Players should enjoy the wonderful Magical Idol Fighters and nurture and compete with other players.

What’s New

A bullet hell with 4 players battle royale party and the element of using idol as fighter is a potential new trend in the community. The game is set using idol with magic as fighter and competes with other 3 idol fighters as well. Players can choose their favorite idol and nurture her to become stronger. Since this is a PVP battle royale game, Magic Chaos provides players to connect region servers and create or join a room. If players need to practice, then players can practice Score Attack mode to test out battle tactics and battle combinations. A combination of 4 players pvp battle royale with Bullet Hell genre, an interesting combination yet chaotic one.

Battle Skills

In battle mode, players have the main skill, the sub skill, the step and the ability. The main skill and sub skill are basically common attack. Players can customize the skill types as to give their idol fighter best combination of battle skills and strategy approach. Furthermore, the skill type are categorized as Attack type, Diffuse Type and Special Type. Attack Type mainly functions as a direct assault to the enemies. Diffuse Type works like a grenade and the cool time takes longer to recharge. Beside that, the Special Type is summoning a servant onto the battlefield to assist players. The Step works like a dash, allowing players to dodge the bullet. The Ability is a special move. Each idol has their own special move that allows player to master. With the knowledge of battle skills and get familiar with chosen idol fighter, player has a higher chance to dominate the battlefield.

Awakening Type

Each characters are gifted with an Awakening. Awakening is a buff, each character has her own buff. Once the buff is filled, the fighter’s attack will be buffed. Some buff grants speed to the magic bullet to fly faster, that gives player certain prediction on when the bullet will land. Thus, combining this knowledge to find an appropriate attack skills will turn the tide of battle.

Choose Your Idol

Magic Chaos currently provides 4 Idols Fighters to choose. Necronancy, Zophie, Rabi and Bellatricks. Each have their own Special Ability and Awakening. The voice acting are cute and on point to express their characteristic. Necronancy is a cheerful and positive character, Zophie is an onee-san type of character, Rabi is shy and Bellatricks is a brat. Their Special Ability gives players a few options for their battle tactics. Like Necronancy, her Special Ability is absorb the enemies’ bullets and reflect them to the surrounding. During my playthrough, I stormed into the bullets in order to reflect enemies’ bullets even though I’m still taking damage. Beside of that, each of them equip different Awakening to buff the magical bullets.

Key Features

According to the main menu, players can choose to start the game in different modes. Then, they’re two UI column at left. The first is Mission Selection and next is the Stamp Set. The Stamp Set works as an indicator on the battlefield. The Mission Selection is an important one. Players must complete the missions to obtain the Key. The Key plays an important role in the game. It’s used to unlock the unlockables, like the character and battle skills.

Battlefield

They are a variety of battlefields that provides vantage ground for players. Like, at the middle of the road, a field besides the river, etc. As a matter of fact, some environment will spawn some physical objects on the battlefield randomly. They provide protection for players to block the bullets. Although players cannot choose the battlefield during their departure, but I take that as a welcoming surprise. It allows players to master the battlefield and use them strategically.

In Overall…

The gameplay experience is not beginner friendly as the game requires player to practice technically. Button mashing will only lose the battle. All moves on the battle requires focus and familiarity with the battle skills and the character. Although, the game’s launch brings along some technical glitch but it doesn’t kill the fun to enjoy the 4 players battle royale. The glitch I encounter was player spawns outside of the battlefield and unable to interact nor returns, the only way is restarts the match. I still recommend this game to everyone who wants to try and I hope the game can brings more for us gamer with the near-future update.

Review: GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse

The GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse from Trust is spectacular! I recently looked at the GXT 833 Thado Gaming Keyboard, and I was thoroughly impressed. Consequently, I had high expectations for this wired and inexpensive gaming peripheral. Available in black or white, this mouse looks amazing. With a sleek and elegant finish complemented by a hue of RGB lighting, this is perfect for a more subtle gaming rig. Alongside this, it works brilliantly with the aforementioned keyboard.

On top of this, it delivers a performance that you’d expect to pay 4 to 5 times the amount! With a ridiculously responsive sensor, impressive acceleration, insane polling rates and IPS tracking speeds, this competes with its high-end peers. On top of this, the wired approach means that you never have to worry about batteries again. Therefore, this is perfect for newbie gamers, hard-handed teenagers, or competitive players.

What’s in the box of the GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse?

  • The compact packaging is lightweight and recyclable. Moreover, it is stylish and jam-packed with key selling points.
  • The GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse is simple but striking. 6 buttons are located at the top and left-hand side. Additionally, a large USB 2.0 braided cable is supplied to power the product.
  • A user manual can be found on the Trust website.

Technical aspects.

A gaming mouse must be responsive, comfortable, and hard-wearing. Additionally, you need full control of its DPI sensitivity. Thankfully, the GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse allows you to do that and a whole lot more. This impressive peripheral has 6 mappable buttons and an easy-to-use software program. Consequently, you can macro each input to your liking.

On top of this, you can adjust the DPI using the central button. Though this option is standard for most gaming mice, the DPI modes were impressive. If you wanted a slower and more methodical approach, the choice was there. Alternatively, you can whack it up to 25k for an insanely quick mouse. Additionally, you can select anything in between to adjust it for different genres.

If this isn’t enough, the GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse has a 1000 Hz polling rate, 50G of acceleration, and a tracking speed of 400 IPS. As such, this mouse offers plenty of elite gaming options.

Usability.

Though there are plenty of custom modes, I adored the plug-and-play style. If you want to unbox this beast and get gaming, you can. Alternatively, you can download the software and customise every input to your liking. Either way, it is straightforward to understand.

As a right-handed gamer, this mouse sits perfectly within my palm. Additionally, the side buttons are nicely placed and easy to use. If I was to complain, I’d say the wheel input button wasn’t as definitive as I’d have liked. Subsequently, it felt weak and that was off-putting. However, it was responsive and accurate, so it is a personal issue.

Build quality.

The GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse is fantastic to look at. The sleek finish is complemented by the lower band of RGB. Moreover, the off-colour wheel looks fantastic. Each input (except the wheel) feels great and the travel distance for each click was pleasant and responsive. Moreover, the change in DPI settings was noticeable.

I liked the ridged grips to the side and the hue of the RGB. Though the lighting isn’t the brightest you’ll ever see, it works brilliantly with the Thado Gaming Keyboard. Alongside this, the hardened shell is constructed from up to 60% recycled materials and this makes it perfect for eco-conscious consumers.

Is the GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse worth it?

The GXT 924 YBAR+ Gaming Mouse is a real competitor to its higher-priced peers. Not only does this mouse look great, but it has some spectacular features. On top of this, it can be customised and the RGB isn’t too OTT. However, one downside is the lack of wireless connectivity. This shortcoming isn’t a deal breaker. As such, I loved it and I recommend buying it here!

Review: Bore Blasters

0

Bore Blasters is an 8bit roguelike video game. It is a great addiction to the 8bit genre for the potential. It is a shoot to mine game.

Gameplay

You are a dwarf named Gunnar, traveling in a mysterious space, accompanied by some other NPC characters. They will assign you some quests to finish during your mission. During the gameplay, the player will be driving a gyrocopter equipped with a machine gun drill. The further you dig, the more gems you can mine. The gems are an in-game currency to upgrade your chopper with new advanced-technology weapons. The mission is simple. Player must get to the bottom of the mine to reach the treasure reward in order to complete the mission. Otherwise, mission fails.

UI DESIGN

When player starts the mission, there’s UI layout right at the top-left corner. There are a bunch of important information shown at there to help player understand the gyrocopter’s condition. The big black Gas Gauge indicates the gyrocopter’s fuel, that indicates the time limit in a mission. Once the gas runs out, the gyrocopter will fall and crash. There are two bars located beside the gas gauge. The longer bar is the Special Move bar; player can unleash a powerful special move once the bar is full. The shorter one is the Upgrade bar. Player can fill in the bar by looting the gems. Once it’s filled, players will be offered a temporary upgrade for the gyrocopter. Below the upgrade bar shows the shield. the shield indicates the protection of your gyrocopter. Once the shield ran out, the player still have one last chance before getting destroyed by any foreign objects. At the right end of the UI, the symbols indicate the upgrade player have chose and the amount of gems player have collected. Finally, the bottom-left corner shows the distance of your location to the bottom.

Level Design

The mission is showcased as a number of terrains floating on the sky. Each terrain represents the harsh and unforgiving environment the player shall explore. The player travels among the terrains with sci-fi flying ship. The terrains need to be unlocked by completing the existing terrain’s missions. Once the terrain is completed, a big hook representing level complete will show on top of them. Furthermore, if players are not sure which terrain you have completed then check the grid map at the top-right corner. That shall provide some information.

The environment in mission is created randomly with procedural regeneration technique. It assures the player will find bored with the level design layout. During the campaign, player will discover different blocks with different effects. Most of the blocks are just dirt and rock, some are the collectible gems. However, some block able to provide path for the player with its explosion perk. They can even be used as a weapon to destroy the enemies and it won’t damage the gyrocopter in close contact.

Upgrade

As player progress through the mission, the upgrade bar will be full. Once it’s filled, player will be able to choose one out three temporary weapon upgrade. There’s a number of weapons serve a variety of purposes in the mission. Player can choose their weapons based on own play style. For example, the ballistic amplifier increases the bullet damage.

After clearing the mission, player will unlock new weapon upgrades for the next mission. The weapon upgrades shall provide more strategy approach based on their special effects.

Enemies and Environment Hazard

In Bore Blasters, players will find themselves encountering different kinds of enemies. The low-rank enemies include the flying creatures and the creatures that resemble a puffer fish. The mid-rank enemies are from the goblin factions. Players usually encounter minions strapped with a jetpack who attempt to kill with a bomb launcher. Furthermore, sometimes they come with a gyrocopter equipped with a bomb as well. However, the challenge is spiced up further once players reach deeper into the mine. The gyrocopter’s torchlight indicates the player’s visible area. Players will be surrounded by darkness, and their only chance to survive is to get out of there as soon as possible or upgrade their gyrocopter with an AoE damage weapon. Last but not least, in the mine, players will encounter environmental hazards that will damage the gyrocopter as well, such as the floating fog. At first, players might recognize it as a game decoration. But, as a matter of fact, having contact with the fog will cause damage to the gyrocopter the longer the player stays with it.

Choose Your Pilot

As the campaign progress, player will find themselves encounter different dwarves during mining. The encounter will be triggered by the quest. The NPC character will instruct player to look for the distress call in the mine to help the other pilot. Once a new dwarf is unlocked, player will able to use them in the mission.

Each character has their own special move. Like Gunnar, the first default dwarf player use at the beginning. Once the Special Move bar is full, Gunnar will thrust itself to the wall to penetrate through obstacles for a few second. Whether it’s a wall of dirt, stones, reproduction soil, etc. Once the Special Move is activated, player shall able to reach the destination without worry. Also there is upgrade shortening the cooldown of Special Move, I personally recommend player to pick it in case they run out of fuel.

Quest

Once player enters the mission, the NPC characters will instruct the quest. The quest can be categorized as retrieving Key Item or Target destroy. Such as destroying the goblin’s settlement in the mine. Player has to dig deep in order to locate the camps. The quest targets are usually well-spread in every parts of the mine. So players will have to race with the fuel to destroy the targets before it runs out.

Shortcomings

Although with all the entertainment Bore Blasters provided, it still lacks some key features. Such as the discovery of the block. I played through the missions and attempting to look for any sort of encyclopedia to explains the block. Judging from the color design, I am sure I discovered some gold and diamond maybe. However, the explosive block and the explosive soil. I hardly can understand their existing purpose except explode. Furthermore, when I’ve obtained the upgrades I like to understand what feature they come with and how do they function. But the only way I can read those information is in the mission. Finally, the fuel. I like the idea of using procedural generation technique to spawn the map randomly. However in the beginning of the mission, it is easy to kill the exploring mood because out of fuel. The fuel is easily to be located only in certain level while the rest are too scarce to find.

Time to Mine

Despite the shortcomings, Bore Blasters is a thrilling game that allows players to have fun being a dwarf. The game runs in roguelike style accompanied with procedural generation. The replayability shall last longer for the player. Furthermore, the background music is a gem as well if you enjoy listening to EDM genre. With the challenges lie in the mine, the experience to mine for the gem while also keeping yourself being attack by all sort of creatures are just thrilling. In overall, Bore Blasters might be a gem for the 8bit genre.

Review: BTH22 headphones

The BTH22 headphones from iClever are perfect for your kids. These comfortable over-ear headphones are designed to protect younger ears. Moreover, they work with many audio and gaming devices, and they have a monstrously long battery life.

On top of this, they look fantastic and they have chunky easy-to-use buttons. Additionally, they can be connected using the 5.4 Bluetooth or a 3.5mm audio cable. Either way, your children will enjoy decent audio on their tablet, iPhone, Android phone, or Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, if your munchkins love to chat, there is a built-in microphone for party chat, voice notes, or VOIP programs.

What’s in the box of the BTH22 headphones?

  • The compact packaging is understated. However, it can be recycled, and the contents are well protected.
  • The BTH22 headphones are pleasant to look at. The blue finish is attractive and the colour-matched buttons were a good choice.
  • Connect to any compatible device with the 3.5mm audio cable.
  • Charge the headphones with the USB-C cable.
  • Learn the fundamentals with the user manual.

Technical aspects.

Audio devices and children rarely mix. If the manufacturer doesn’t incorporate a dB limiter, there could be serious health issues to contend with. Luckily, iClever is a manufacturer that deals with this issue head-on. The BTH22 headphones incorporate a 74 and 85 dBA safe volume mode. As such, these headphones are perfect for younger ears.

Alongside this, the 5.4 Bluetooth ensures that you can connect to any suitable device with ease. This low-power tech complements the exceptional 60-hour battery, and it makes it simple to connect to an array of devices. Alternatively, you can go old-school and use a wired approach. This was the perfect option whenever my kids wanted to use their Nintendo Switch. When plugged in, they had no issues with sound or microphone. This was ideal as this is a cost-effective alternative to other major brands.

Sound quality.

As the BTH22 headphones are so affordable, I didn’t hold high hopes for exceptional audio. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Even with the limiters in place, there was a decent range of tones and the bass wasn’t overbearing. Moreover, the sound had a warm and pleasant tone.

Alongside this, the microphone quality is good. My children experienced no popping or cracking, nor did they endure any latency issues. On the flip side, whenever their friends spoke, it wasn’t tinny, sharp, or uncomfortable. As such, this inexpensive headset excelled in these areas.

Usability.

Setting up headphones can be problematic. The battle between impatient children and tech is a real first-world issue. Luckily, though, the BTH22 headphones were a cinch to use. Connecting them was straightforward, and I had no issues when connecting them to their Amazon Fire tablets or an iPod.

Connectivity to one side, your kids can easily change settings and power the headphones on and off with the large tactile buttons. Additionally, the placement of the inputs was intuitive and easy to locate. Consequently, these are ideal for impatient youngsters.

Build quality.

Children can be rough with their technology. Subsequently, breakages are a risk. Thankfully, the BTH22 headphones are hard-wearing, comfortable, and built to last. The strong headband is flexible and the earcups can be adjusted. Moreover, the plump earcup material is easy to clean and doesn’t overheat during lengthy sessions.

Alongside this, the ports are strong, and the provided cables are flexible and sturdy. Accordingly, I wasn’t worried about broken cables and blocked ports. Furthermore, the large buttons can take a beating and the whole device can be dropped without too much concern.

Are the BTH22 headphones worth it?

There are some amazing child-friendly headphones on the market. However, a lot of them are expensive and this is off-putting. Thankfully, iClever delivers high-tech value at an affordable price point. Moreover, I love their safety-first approach. Accordingly, I adore these headphones and I recommend buying them here!

Review: Medieval Machines Builder

Medieval Machines Builders – Developed by FreeMind S.A, Solverto.

I feel a complete joy to have been given the opportunity to start reviewing games! And since I’m based in Poland, is awesome to begin with a Polish game such as Medieval Machines Builder, to set the tone.

But honestly, we are here for the actual review. So let’s skip the fluff!

Catapult all crafted from Medieval Machines Builders game.
Medieval Machines Builders – Steam

1. I don’t think is a good game, but also isn’t the worst

And of course I don’t want to burn bridges here, but honesty is what leads and describes me as a person. Apologies!

The music and sound design? W-O-W. Goosebumps! From the very beginning, you will feel inspired and overwhelmed in a positive way by the music. 10/10 there!

While this isn’t the most visually appealing game. The sound and music artistries balance it all for us.

But be aware, is a bit overdone. The music repeats itself way too much and because this is a self-paced game. There’s a high chance you will hear the same song for hours!

  • If you are looking forward to relax.
  • Have a chill time.
  • Are ok with repetition.
  • And would want to explore how Medieval Catapults are made.
  • Then this is your go-to simulator’s game.

And… That’s pretty much it…

Really…

2. Is a niche game and has a point

Some content creators are comparing this game to Sims, and Puzzels.

I agree! For example, when you grab a log beam and want to saw it to construct the catapult, as featured in the image in point no.1. You would need to do some puzzle work.

Is fun, but it gets also a bit boring and repetitive as mentioned.

That is why we have a specific audience for this type of games.

Which reminds me of Timberborn. I think is a good comparison to Medieval Machines Builder to include to this list of games and build awesome stuff.

Unfair comparisons and actually making them? Maybe, but one needs to compare and analyze if there are similarities, right?

Another thing to prove this game has a point. Is it’s funny and scoff nature. Is in an extremely simple and slight way, but is there, and makes all the difference for me.

3. Medieval Machines Builders proves less is more

It’s true and can be sad to remember, that the older we get – the busier we are! So, this game is a perfect choice to set the exhausting competition aside and actually enjoy the experience.

But of course we can’t forget the fact that can be boring. And I don’t know what type of gamer you might be, but I’m slow. I take time to read, play, watch films, and all… So, if you are like me, be prepared to spend hours and hours making simple tasks.

The outcome?

Not a huge deal. You simply create a catapult to destroy the enemy, and later on, create another one!

I’ll leave it up to you!

This could mean an extremely fun game for it’s simplicity, or a total disappointment.

4. Gameplay — Massively Noob Friendly

Medieval Machines Builders isn’t a game for extreme complications, nor deep historic-rich background.

But is a cool mix between medieval elements that sets the ambience of those times, and modern ones referencing our now.

Everything presented in the easiest and guided way possible.

Yesterday after work, I played for a while and even though I was being extremely sleepy at some point. I always felt like once I completed a sub-task, I automatically knew what was next.

Which made the journey a little more exciting.

Skills and Upgrades, Medieval Machines Builder – Steam

Simple, it was fun.

And also, to be a bit contradictory. I encountered some ”complications” when finding new elements to craft the main step.

But not because it was difficult to find or mysterious, but because I was honestly, dumb. Lol!

So if you decide to play this game and at some point you feel like me. Well, I don’t think they are the ones to blame.

5. Medieval Machines Builder Conclusion

At the end of the day. We are here for the experience and have a joyful moment.

Don’t waste your time if this isn’t your style, and you are lacking patience.

But absolutely give it a try if you are an open-minded person!

I like that all their games have a unique and characteristic element. But this doesn’t precisely mean a 10…

Review: Boxes: Lost Fragments

In a world where big-budget productions dominate and a few genres reign supreme, some
hidden gems go unnoticed, waiting to be discovered by players who want to escape the so
call “ordinary”.

Boxes: Lost Fragments is undoubtedly one of those cases. Developed by Big Loop Studios, a
Bulgarian-German team with vast experience in puzzle games, surprise us once again with a
title that enchants both puzzle lovers and newcomers. This is my case: puzzle games are not
my favorite way to spend my free time, but after this experience, I will definitely keeping an
eye on what this studio does next.

The first thing that stands out in “Boxes” is, without a doubt, its visuals. The steampunk
setting, with beautiful and detailed boxes, creates the perfect atmosphere for the mystery
that the game creates. In fact, I can’t stop thinking about how incredible and detailed this
world is. I often found myself just contemplating the unique beauty of these boxes and
objects. A true graphical delight that leaves no one indifferent.

In this universe, we take on the role of a thief. Like any good thief, we have a weakness for
shiny things that appear to be very expensive. Our journey through a mansion is not just
about solving the mysteries of these beautiful boxes, but also about searching for our past.
What begins as a seemingly simple robbery quickly turns into an adventure.

The mansion is more than just a setting. It is the main stage of the plot, taking on a life of its
own and guiding the player through its enchanted rooms. At every step, the house tells
stories through its objects, revealing secrets and clues. As you drive deeper into the
mansion, you find enigmatic messages hidden inside the boxes and cinematic cutscenes that
connect to a narrative and take you beyond the initial goal of the robbery.

The story, even though it is not complex, unfolds in an engaging way, adding purpose and
intrigue to the act of solving puzzles. It is not a spectacular script, but it is more than
acceptable for this type of game.

Have I already mentioned how wonderful and addictive the graphics are? Possibly, but
another aspect that makes this title unique is its audio. The music and environment sounds
transport you into the game, making you forget what is happening around you. All the
sound elements are exactly as you expected, which provides a sense of satisfaction that I
haven’t felt in this industry for a long time.

The puzzles in “Boxes”, while challenging, were carefully crafted to be accessible to new
players. They provide a pleasant experience that makes us think and sharpens our desire to
solve the puzzles without frustration. At the same time, ensures that veterans of the genre
stay entertained. The game offers subtle hints to help solve the puzzles, but in some
situations, it is possible to ask the game itself to solve them. I confess that I used this
function, with cooldown, more times than I would like to admit, mainly due to the great
variation in difficulty between the puzzles, which is not always directly linked to the game’s
progression.

It’s impossible not to make comparisons with “The Room”, a game that needs no
introduction and that serves as inspiration for various studios that venture into the concept
of escape rooms. Those who are familiar with the Big Loop Studios portfolio know that
“Boxes” will not offer an innovative experience, but it will demonstrate that this team
continues to experiment with a concept they know well and insist on driving the evolution
of the genre.

In conclusion, Boxes: Lost Fragments offers a polished and engaging puzzle experience. The
game’s stunning visuals, immersive atmosphere, and cleverly designed puzzles offer a
satisfying challenge for players of all experience levels. Despite its short playtime, this is a
game that delivers a rewarding and immersive experience for those looking for a touch of
mystery and a good mental workout.

Review: Spirit Hunters: Death Mark II

Spirit Hunters: Death Mark II is a visual novel horror game developed by Experience and published worldwide by Arksys Games. The third installment in the franchise sees Kazuo Yashiki return from the first game as you solve spiritual mysteries. While Spirit Hunters: Death Mark II is not a groundbreaking visual novel, its horror aesthetics and story twists left enough threads to weave together a competent but bland narrative.

The Mysteries of Konoehara Academy

You are called into Konoehara Academy as a Spirit Hunter because a student has gone missing. A spirit named The Departed puts up notes saying they are going to kill students at night, using another spirit’s will. Spirits are born from unresolved grudges before they died. You must find the students while resolving the grudges of spirits. All while figuring out who The Departed is and why they are wreaking havoc on the school.

Each chapter targets a new student and uses a new spirit. The game is seven chapters long, and while the opening chapters are decent tone-setters, I felt that the middle portion started to get repetitive. Hunting the spirits haunting the school distracted from investigating The Departed. Things picked up in the last couple of chapters. However, the middle part felt like a slog that did not contribute much to the story.

Along the way, characters will assist you: the headmaster, student council members, and teachers. However, fans of the original Spirt Hunters: Death Mark will be happy to see old characters return. While there are some standout characters like Ai Kashiwagi and Satoru Mashita, most of the characters are forgettable. A horror game isn’t complete without a few twists and turns. While a few moments surprised me, the lack of character depth flattened the impact of most moments.

Exploring The World Around You

The gameplay revolves around two different modes. There is exploration, where you explore Konoehara Academy and the surrounding areas. There are Suspensive Acts, where you use clues and items you gathered during exploration to fight off spirits.

Exploring turns the game from a visual novel into a 2D sidescrolling section, with the occasional first-person perspective. You can traverse with a party member while exploring different rooms to search for clues. Many of these environments are bland as you spend most of your time at the school. Leaving the school and exploring the surrounding areas opened up some creepier environments.

You will come across teeth, which can be traded for items that help you. These can range from increasing the chance of success during suspensive acts to taking reduced damage during fights. I never really felt like I needed to stop playing the game and focus on collecting these teeth to upgrade super often. However, upgrading my stats felt like forcing in RPG mechanics that don’t need to be here.

Suspensive Acts are the fight sections of the game. You have to choose the correct option to move forward in the fight. Each action costs you some amount of health, and there is a percentage chance that the action will succeed. Suspensive Acts are my favorite part of this game. These sections are significant for building tension during the fight, and due to the RNG nature of the Suspensive Act mechanics, they stressed me out. The double-edged sword of this is that there can be frustrating moments. Choosing a high success rate option and failing can get annoying after a while. I felt like I made the right choice and failed, leading to unnecessary resets.

Visually Stunning, Visually Terrifying

The game’s biggest strength is its art style. The art can be utterly disgusting at some points and stunning at other moments. While the environments you explore can be a little bland, the highs this game hits more than make up for it. For those not into blood and gore, the game allows you to turn off blood and gore, and the game’s random jump scares don’t add value to the game. The spirits are downright terrifying, especially The Departed. The art team deserves all the credit for how this game looks because, at times, it looks incredible.

Spirit Hunters: Death Mark II is a visual horror novel that delivers some stunning visuals but is an otherwise okay video game. While the story felt cliche at some moments, there were some bright spots in the 20 hours I spent with the game. While Suspensive Acts was my favorite part of the game, playing it sometimes felt frustrating because of the RNG nature. Fans of the franchise might be happy to see the original characters return. For fans of visual novels, there are better options for anyone looking for a horror visual novel game.
