Perfect World Entertainment Inc. and Cryptic Studios has announced the launch of the highly-acclaimed free action MMORPG Neverwinter, set in the Dungeons & Dragons® Forgotten Realms^® universe from Wizards of the Coast.

“Over 1.5 million players have explored Neverwinter during our Open Beta. In Neverwinter, players explore and defend one of the most beloved cities from Dungeons & Dragons as one of five different classes: Trickster Rogue, Devoted Cleric, Control Wizard, Guardian Fighter and Great Weapon Fighter. In addition, players can choose from eight different races: human, half-orc, dwarf, elf, half-elf, halfling, tiefling and drow.

At the official launch also marks the live release of Gauntlgrym, Neverwinter’s new twist on level 60 PvP and PvE content, and the profession of Alchemy.

Neverwinter’s first free expansion module, Fury of the Feywild, introduces the new region of Sharandar, three campaign areas, three instances, new enemies, new loot, and a new dungeon. This module also introduces two new professions: Weaponsmithing and Artificing.

Google has just updated its standalone iOS 6 YouTube app to version 1.4.

As we told you back in August, the YouTube app was removed, and this was the reason:

Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the App Store.

NVIDIA Project Shield Gets Price Cut Before Release

NVIDIA has announced a price cut and shipping date for its Project Shield Android gaming console.

The system will launch in the US on June 27 at the reduced price of $299 (£195), down from its original cost of $349 (£225).

Customers who have already pre-ordered the console will be charged the reduced rate, which NVIDIA claims it brought in based on feedback from gamers.

“We’ve heard from thousands of gamers that if the price was $299, we’d have a home run. So we’re changing the price of Shield to $299,” said the graphics card maker.

Powered by a Tegra 4 chip, Project Shield sports a five-inch 720p touch-screen and is also capable of streaming content to a monitor or TV display, either wirelessly or through a HDMI connection.

Samsung Electronics today unveiled two new tablets, the ATIV Q and ATIV Tab 3. Both powered by Windows 8, the ATIV Tab 3 is the world’s thinnest tablet while the convertible ATIV Q is able to run Android apps.

The ATIV Q is a convertible device with the ability to change modes and has both Windows and Android capabilities. Built with today’s busy lifestyles in mind, it works as a notebook or tablet and gives you more flexibility and convenience than ever before.

Addressing a common desire among PC users to be able to access Android apps on a Windows-based PC, the ATIV Q allows you to now experience both Windows 8 and Android (Jellybean 4.2.2) on the same device. Its Advanced Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) System ensures accurate phase and contrast detection so you can capture crisp, vibrant shots, while the 1/6000 sec shutter speed and 8.6fps shooting means you can capture the action as it is happening.

The flexibility offered by the Galaxy NX’s selection of interchangeable lenses – from compact pancake lenses and an ultra-wide fisheye, to longer prime and zoom lenses – places creative control firmly in the hands of the photographer. True 3D Creator also brings an added element of realism to the Galaxy NX results, allowing you to shoot images and movies in 3D with Samsung’s 45mm 2D/3D lens.

With Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the functionality of a smartphone is used to improve the photographic experience you get with the Galaxy NX. You can choose from a huge array of Android apps to help personalise your device and do more than just shoot amazing photographs and video, from editing images, to adding special effects and staying in touch with friends and family.

More than 30 Smart Mode options mean you can choose the optimum settings for the environment you are capturing, as well as create fresh, artistic images. Multi Exposure merges two different shots together to produce one distinctive image, while Animated Photo connects continuous shots of up to five seconds, creating a moving GIF file. For added realism, Sound & Shot stores sound and voice together as the picture is taken, so moments are captured exactly as they happen.

For added personalisation, Camera Studio allows you to easily customise settings with your most frequently used applications or camera modes, so you can capture your photos exactly how you want them.

The Galaxy NX will be available to buy in the UK as a 4G variant that supports 3G from selected online and high street retailers this summer.

In the near future, 2048, a handful of young and brilliant citizens have been chosen by Gruckezber Corporation to join the Magtech training program for space exploration. Equipped with a special glove using Gruckezber’s technology, the candidates have to solve their way through a huge maze of challenge rooms, by magnetically charging objects that will attract or repel each other.

But what seemed to be the chance of a lifetime for the candidates will soon turn into a nightmare, as they will have to survive a high-tech world gone mad. A real descent in hell, perfectly illustrated in the launch trailer of Magrunner!
