Today, Amazon.co.uk announced Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G are now available for pre-order to readers across the UK.

Apple has just updated it’s iBooks app to version 2.1, bringing it with updated that include support for the new iPad’s Retina display.

Last year we told you about the Amazon Kindle Owners’ Lending Library where you can borrow a book for free. Now Amazon have announced that they have over 100,000 books available.

Last month we told you about iBooks 2 for iPad, featuring iBooks textbooks, an entirely new kind of textbook that’s dynamic, engaging and truly interactive. Now Apple have updated the app.

Along with today’s announcement about iBooks 2, Apple also launched an app called iBooks Author, which enables anyone to create a book for the iPad.

Apple today announced iBooks 2 for iPad, featuring iBooks textbooks, an entirely new kind of textbook that’s dynamic, engaging and truly interactive. iBooks textbooks offer iPad users gorgeous, full screen textbooks with interactive animations, diagrams, photos, videos, unrivalled navigation and much more.

Today saw Amazon roll out a software update for it’s Kindle Fire device, taking it to version 6.2.1.

Apple have just updated their iBooks app to version 1.5 which includes a new nighttime theme for easier reading at night.
