First look at Space Run for the PC

0

Space Run is PC (Focus Home Interactive) game mixes strategy and space ship construction in real time, borrowing certain mechanics from the “tower defense” system with numerous twists and hyper dynamic gameplay. Space Run is a nod to ’80s science fiction and pays homage to many of its tropes and references.

Space Run is a indie title developed by a “one-man studio”, namely Sylvain Passot who, after spending 10 years in a large French development studio, decided to develop his own concept, “‘Space Run”. Space Run still has plenty of surprises in store with its well-oiled game mechanics, addictive gameplay and intense, exciting missions. Space Run will also be demonstrated and playable at GDC Play in the US during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco from 17th – 21st March, 2014, when an even more complete version will be available, as the game is set for release in May priced under $10.

The year is 2525. You are captain Buck Mann, the most fearless, daredevil and the most broke of all the pilots in the galaxy! Your new job: you are a Space Runner, one of the space haulage contractors whose job is to transport valuable cargo from one end of the galaxy to the other… and one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be a bumpy ride. Not only do the cosmic highways regularly pass through asteroid belts of all sizes, but they are also used by dangerous and unscrupulous pirates armed to the teeth, whose fighters and battle cruisers will make short work of your transport vessel if you’re totally unprepared. And finally, you will also encounter other galactic “drivers” with whom you are fiercely competitive, so take this opportunity to give them a friendly blast from your turbo lasers when you overtake them!

spacerun-04

Fulfil your contracts with gusto and your reputation will soar, opening the doors to new clients and more demanding and hazardous assignments… but which will also be more lucrative! The rewards earned from these missions will enable you to unlock new modules for your ship or upgrade those you already own: luxuries you can’t afford to be without if you want to survive the mortal perils lurking in space. Turrets lasers, missile launchers, shield generators, thrusters, power plants and other modules will allow you to adapt to new combat situations in mid-flight that arise on your travels. Build, recycle, repair and reposition the modules and improvise as best you can to deal with the multiple threats you will face.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC Pack Out Now for PS3,PS4 and PC

0

Call of Duty: Ghosts players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC can now purchase the first DLC Pack – Onslaught.  The new DLC Pack delivers four unique and classically designed Call of Duty multiplayer maps, the all-new “Maverick” dual-purpose Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle, and the first instalment in Extinction’s four-part episodic narrative, “Episode 1: Nightfall.”

COD Ghosts Onslaught_Containment Action

New multiplayer maps in Onslaught include:

Fog: Set alongside the banks of a murky lake, players skilled enough to pick up the map’s unique Field Order can become the embodiment of evil and don the mask of Michael Myers, one of cinema’s most iconic horror characters, in this chilling homage to classic horror films.

BayView: A coastal Californian boardwalk that offers players fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay amid a seaside town. Clever players will be able to climb onto the map’s moving trolley to engage enemies, as well as call in devastating artillery strikes from the Naval Destroyer anchored offshore.

Containment: This map drops players into a raging battle amidst a war-torn Mexican village, where the action centers on the crippled remains of a small bridge holding a hi-jacked truck leaking radioactive material.

COD Ghosts Onslaught_Bayview Action

Ignition: Is a reimagined version of “Scrapyard” – the fan-favorite multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, placing players into a deserted space launch facility with frenetic action amongst abandoned warehouses, flame trenches, a massive transport crawler, and dynamic map elements that can take players out if they’re not paying close attention.

Onslaught also arms players with the Maverick, a deadly new, dual-purpose addition to their multiplayer arsenal. Outfitted with a lightweight wood stock, players can choose to use the Maverick as either an Assault Rifle or Sniper Rifle, depending on their tactical needs.

Anchoring Onslaught is “Episode 1: Nightfall,” the first installment in Extinction’s new, four-part episodic narrative. As the initial foray into this single, connected story that will be told across each DLC Pack launch throughout the year, “Episode 1: Nightfall” takes fans to a remote research facility hidden deep within the Alaskan wilderness, where a small recon team must infiltrate the facility to find out what happened to the mysterious Nightfall Program. This expanded Extinction storyline introduces new characters, plus two all-new alien species, and debuts an exclusive Venom-X weapon that pulverizes the Cryptids, as players delve deeper into the story of what happened following mankind’s first contact with the Cryptids in Colorado.

Fans can purchase Onslaught as either a standalone DLC Pack for a suggested retail price of $14.99, or purchase the Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Season Pass.  Season Pass holders not only get all four epic DLC Packs for the discounted suggested retail price of $49.99*, but they also get instant access to the downloadable multiplayer map, “Free Fall,” as well as the Team Leader Digital Pack, which comes with a unique multiplayer character head, weapon camo, reticle, player patch, player card and player background.

Review: Dead Rising 3: Chaos Rising DLC

Episode 3 of the Untold Stories DLC is out and was surprisingly really good. A bit of recap, we’ve already played a spec ops commander and an alcoholic feisty resistance member within the zombie-ridden city of Los Perdidos. These two protagonists aren’t as interesting in comparison to the renegade biker Hunter Thibodeux in the Chaos Rising DLC but what makes this additional pack a definite must have?

Dead_Rising_3_Chaos_Rising_Screengrab

Hunter, if you haven’t played through the games main campaign, is the first boss you stumble across within your first hour of play. Knowing this you’ll find this prologue leading up to the cross over a nice touch to the story telling aspect of the Dead Rising 3 experience. This tattooed Redneck isn’t a hero with no redeeming features. You are playing a straight up villain and this is what makes Chaos Rising different and unforgettable. Starting of in prison for wrongly taking the wrap for your crew you’re tasked with escaping with no prior weapons in your inventory. I honestly played through this DLC like it was to be a survival horror game which is what the Dead Rising games are but fused with dark humour through over the top characters and the ridiculous weapon combos usually thrown in making the series less scary. This prison break section was pretty much as scary as this game gets. Having to find weapons whilst only having yourself to answer to Hunter is as lonely as he’ll get.

With revenge in his blood, Hunter’s goal is to track down and find his gang who put him in prison. Amongst the zombie hordes you’ll be hunted down by that said gang who have groups throwing molotov cocktails at you and will beat you with bats. The streets of Los Perdidos has never been so dangerous and with Hunter’s quest being more melee weapon based you’ll find you’re getting up close and personal in more fights. There’s an interesting selection of new weapons to have fun with which includes a petrol canister strapped with flares to draw the zombie’s attention before burning all in the vicinity. But the main focus is centred on a motorcycle with moving sawblades at the front that can also shoot blade projectiles, serious crazy fun and easily the best selling point.

What Chaos Rising has which the other 2 didn’t include was actual boss fights. Yes, actual bosses with health bars just like the ones in the campaign. This makes a huge difference and gives me faith that the next instalment could be the best of all 3 combined in one final outing. The side missions in this are fun to do, collecting custom bikes and bringing them back to the bike shop, exactly how Grand Theft Auto does it but with the undead in the way. The collectables include finding top self rare alcohol as well as destroying emergency telephone posts across the city, the generic stuff.

Chaos Rising felt shorter than the other 2 available but has a longer lasting impression with scenarios and characters that are less forgettable than in the others. Hunting down bikers is so far the highlight to the Untold Stories episodes and fits right at home as an alternative perspective from a villainous protagonist.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Mastery System Explained

2

Konami Digital Entertainment today release a new gameplay video showcasing the new adaptive combat elements of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.

The conclusion to the ‘Lords of Shadow’ series is available now for the Playstation 3, PlayStation Network, Xbox 360, Xbox LIVE Games on Demand, and Steam for PC, and the new footage highlights how users can create modified combat elements within the game.

The new system is integral for combat, as Dracula awakens in a weakened state and must gradually extend his abilities. Gamers can gather experience points by killing foes and solving puzzles, and then use them to enhance the abilities of the game’s three main weapons: the Void Sword, Chaos Claws and Shadow Whip. Each weapon is governed by a ‘skill tree’ system, wherein players cleverly level up their weapons.

The more the player uses a specific weapon to execute key combination attacks, the more their power grows. Experimentation is rewarded with increased power as challenging attacks are perfectly implemented. The new trailer highlights how these attacks reward the player, devastating those that dare defy Dracula.
