“Be the Batman” Live Action TV Spot

Warner Bros has released a new trailer for Batman Arkham Knight, this time focusing on some live action.

Directed by Tim Cronenweth and Jeff Cronenweth (director of photography for Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Fight Club), with Trent Reznor serving as music consultant, the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer – “Be The Batman” features “The Wretched” by Nine Inch Nails and showcases everyday people being determined, courageous and fearless as they rise to become the Batman.

Batman: Arkham Knight is out 23rd June for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Bethedsa has released a new gameplay trailer for The Executioner, the third and final add-on for The Evil Within, releasing on 26th May.

The Executioner places players in a series of battle arenas all from the first-person perspective of The Keeper. Initially armed with The Keeper’s signature hammer, players will fight against a host of The Evil Within’s iconic villains to earn new weapons and upgrades. Set in the Manor House of the Victoriano Estate, The Executioner features first-person melee combat combined with exploration and discovery as players unearth the story of a man forced to become The Keeper.

As the final add-on, The Executioner completes The Evil Within’s Season Pass.

Today LEGO Dimensions has been released a new video that features actor Christopher Lloyd reprising his famous role as Doc Brown from the Back to the Future films.
In addition to packs from the previously announced new packs are also coming such as the DC Comics Team Pack featuring LEGO Joker and LEGO Harley Quinn minifigures, three additional DC Comics Fun Packs featuring LEGO Superman, LEGO Aquaman and LEGO Bane minifigures, Back to the Future Fun Pack with LEGO Doc Brown minifigure and two additional LEGO Ninjago Fun Packs with Sensei Wu and Lloyd minifigures.Warner says that these collectible Team Packs and Fun Packs will provide new buildable characters, vehicles, tools and gadgets, as well as special in-game abilities. Apparently, players can bring up to seven characters, vehicles and weapons into the LEGO Dimensions game all at once by placing them on the LEGO Toy Pad to create extreme gameplay cross-overs, such as LEGO Superman piloting the LEGO DeLorean Time Machine through Hill Valley or LEGO Doc Brown fighting alongside LEGO Bane in New Ninjago City.

Future expansion pack purchases will continue to work with the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack, even in autumn of next year.

Additional well-known brands and expansion packs joining the adventure for 2015 and 2016 will be announced in the coming months.

LG announces the G4 Stylus and G4C

 LG has officially announces two new members of the G4 family, the G4 Stylus and G4C. Both smartphones will begin shipping to retailers around the world in the next several weeks and throughout the month of May.

Both exceptionally priced devices share many of the same high-end user experience features found in the LG G4.

The G4 Stylus is a 5.7-inch handset, slightly larger than the 5.5-inch display found in the G4. As its name implies, The G4 Stylus includes LG’s versatile Rubberdium Stylus, allowing for easy note taking and drawing on the generously-sized screen. Its smaller sibling, the 5.0-inch LG G4c, offers many of the G4’s premium features and styling but in a more compact form factor.

Both G4 Series phones feature 13MP or 8MP rear cameras and 5MP front-facing camera for high quality photos and portraits. Other popular LG exclusives such as Gesture Shot, Glance View and Knock Code make both devices more convenient, secure and fun to use.

The G4 Stylus inherits the super-fast Laser Autofocus feature found in previous G Series smartphones for sharply focused shots even in dim surroundings. HD quality IPS displays with In-Cell Touch technology deliver a visual experience that is far more immersive and responsive than on most other smartphones in this class.

“The G4 Stylus and G4c are perfect examples of what we mean by a premium smartphone experience without a premium price,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “We are committed to offering consumers in fast-growing markets LG devices that not only deliver performance, but also look good while doing so. The G4 Stylus (available as G Stylo in North America and Korea) will be offered in both LTE and 3G configurations in Metallic Silver or Floral White color options. The G4c is an LTE model only and will come in Metallic Gray, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold.

The LG G4 Stylus and G4c are scheduled to launch in key strategic markets in the weeks to come. Prices and participating carriers will be announced locally at the time of availability.

Review: Honor 4X is it the best budget smartphone?

When it comes to a budget smartphone, with the importance on given more on the user experience than the aspects like design and such. Can the new smartphone from Honor have something extra for you lets find out.

The specifications include a 5.5 inch display with 720p resolution, and under that, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, with 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. The phone has a 13-megapixel camera on the back, with its F/2.0 aperture and a 27mm wide angle lens. On the front, have a 5-megapixel selfie camera. A 3000 mAh battery in the device is packed in, and it isn’t a removable one.

Design and the Form Factor

The Honor 4X has a simple design, the back of the phone has the cross line matte finish, that it doesn’t attract fingerprints, and the Honor branding adds to the good looks.

The removable back cover on the phone covers almost the entire side frame as well, joining the screen panel on the side. Towards the right side, the volume button and the cover around it is slightly raised, and just above that is the volume rocker button. The Mirco USB port and primary microphone take their place along with the round speaker holes in the bottom, while a secondary microphone and the headset jack is located on the top.

The 5.5 inch display is surrounded by not so big bezels, but whatever area is used by the navigation buttons in the bottom, makes the phone unnecessarily bigger. The capacitive buttons below the screen (back, home and app switcher) don’t light up, but they are fairly responsive. Above the front display is a set of sensors, earpiece and the 5MP camera.

Using the Honor 4X isn’t easy with a single hand, although the gestures and motion features try to help the user do some functions without having to use both the hands. Not really something to complain about, as we rarely see a phone in the budget to mid range category having a compact design for a big 5.5-inch screen.

The 5.5-inch IPS display has a pixel density of 267 PPI, decent enough for this price range of under £145 from Amazon, but on the brighter side, the display of Honor 4X is easier to read under bright sunlight.

Viewing angles are decent, and although this is a UI feature, the changing wallpaper every time the screen is activated, makes the experience better.

User Interface

EMUI v3.0 has a lock screen that gives access to notification panel, and a drag-up-from-bottom control centre having shortcuts to important apps. Even the camera app can be opened right from the lock screen. Always, unless you opt against it, you see a beautiful different wallpaper whenever the screen is waken up. Double tapping anywhere on the lock screen opens up a music player widget, which can be controlled without having to unlock the screen.

A vertical timeline of notifications is shown up in the notification panel, swiping which to the left shows the much useful quick settings section, having connectivity toggles, options to toggle One-hand UI, Flashlight, screenshot Suspend button, multi-screen, ultra power saving mode and the brightness toggle bar.

The UI intelligently shows the quick settings panel if there’s no important unread notification, and thus obviously is good and time-saving.

The Honor 4X see no more than 3.9GB of internal storage left for the user, when you first start up the Honor 4X for the first time.

There’s a Simple user mode under the Settings, if the user doesn’t want the cluttered UI to be presented to them. It rather takes you back to the look of early Windows Phone UI, having large app tiles, and only the important apps shown on the main screen.

The Honor 4X seems to have done a better job, with options like “Flip to mute”, “Shake to rearrange”, “Double Touch” (which is the double tap to wake) for a better experience. While the screen is turned off, drawing certain alphabets open the set apps.

Performance

The Honor 4X, although has a very decent 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, clocking at 1.2 GHz, it is surely not a phone one would want if they are into gaming. The Emotion UI does respond fast and over a GB of free RAM is usually there, and the 4X never showed a problem with multitasking, switching between the apps and even while showing all the transition effects in the UI.

The benchmark scores are quite lesser than what you would see in devices with similar internal specs, but in actual, the performance is good for regular use.

The Normal and Smart modes differ a bit, and it clearly shows the difference in the way UI responds. The Normal mode reduces the lags and frame drops when playing a game, while Smart is more about saving battery and compromising with the performance, thus not a good mode for gaming or watching HD videos on Youtube or alternative apps.

Battery

As the screen was big enough, Huawei managed to keep the device slim enough to use it comfortably, and still pack a 3000 mAh battery on the back. We’re actually very much impressed with the battery on the Honor 4X, and the device lasted for more than a day on a single charge, and we’re talking of normal usage, including more than an hour of phone calls, some data usage (on 4G though), gaming for about 40 minutes and keeping the Wi-Fi active for over half a day.

The Honor 4X has three battery usage modes – Ultra, Smart and Normal. While the Ultra makes it a greyscale interface, the smart mode automatically adjusts the CPU and network usage for balanced performance, and the normal mode adjusts the CPU for maximum performance. The last one is recommended for gaming as well as, for HD video viewing.

On average, it was possible to get through a days’ usage and sometimes a little more than that, on a single charge of the battery of Huawei 4X, and an average screen-on time of 3.25 hours.

The Huawei Honor 4X has two SIM card slots, both supporting 4G LTE network connectivity.

Final Verdict

The final question, is the Huawei Honor 4X the new King of the budget smartphone. Well the quick answer is easy It sure is, with what comes packed in, and the way it takes brilliant photos, lasts for more than a day on a single charge. For the price of the device you can’t go wrong if you buy this device.

2K and Firaxis Games today announced Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth – Rising Tide, the expansion pack for October 2014’s turn-based strategy title, Civilization: Beyond Earth, is currently in development for Windows-based PC. Created by Firaxis Games, Rising Tide will enhance the Beyond Earth experience by adding a variety of new gameplay capabilities and providing near limitless ways for players to create a new future for humanity on an alien planet. The expansion pack is currently scheduled for release in fall 2015.

 

Rising Tide will expand Beyond Earth to new frontiers on the planet’s surface and across its seas, adding more choices and diplomatic options as players build “one more turn” toward a new vision for humanity’s future. New aquatic gameplay will explore the oceans for colonization by dramatically extending the play space, while an overhauled diplomacy system will provide players with additional layers of dynamic choices and options to shape the diplomatic landscape while engaging with the AI and one another.

Beyond Earth–Rising Tide

Gameforge and developer Robot Entertainment have expanded the full-action PvP title ready for the second phase of the closed beta, which includes numerous new features and also responses to beta tester feedback. Alongside changes to the combat system and general gameplay, players can look forward to a more polished visual experience and also an additional map. And you can get in on the action.

The latest version of Orcs Must Die! Unchained is here with lots of changes: the new Trait Builder lets you personalise and strengthen individual heroes, enabling you to adapt them to your style of play. On top of this, heroes are also now set as either attackers or defenders, allowing for a clearer tasking within the team. A ‘traditional’ defender character will still be able to wreck havoc on the front lines and attacking heroes will be able to contribute in defence. Heroes now gain experience during battles, which allows them to rise to a maximum level of 8 within a match, opening up a variety of additional enhancements, buffs and skills to choose from.

The base game tempo has been reduced ever so slightly, allowing players tos et up their battles in a more tactical manner. The revamped environments bring more than just an improved version of Cliffside Clash: a lot of the improved hero skills are now accompanied by a short animation. This allows for both sides to better react to enemy attacks – dodge or counter – adding additional depth to one on one encounters.

As before, players select various minion cards in the Deck Builder to then send these selections on their destructive paths towards the enemy rift. From now on, teams can choose which war camp to release their hordes from. Over the course of a match

an additional slot now opens in the camp, where a powerful boss can be selected from a choice of trolls, ogres and other monsters.

In addition to the already available Cliffside Clash and Highlands maps comes ‘Unchained Fortress’, where players are taken to the home of the namesake orcs. The circular-formed map has a selection of secret paths and passages and demands tactical thinking for success.
