PlayStation shows off the new PS4 Pro out this November

Sony’s newly-announced PS4 Pro has been given a release date and price.

The upgraded console will be available starting 10th November for £349/$399 at major retailers around the world.

PS4 Pro features a number of upgrades and enhancements, including 4K support, more GPU, and a built-in 1TB hard drive. Additionally, one of its major selling points is increased visual fidelity and connectivity between the classic PS4 and this new version.

President and Group CEO Andrew House pulled the lid off PlayStation 4 Pro at today’s PlayStation Meeting event in New York City. PS4 lead architect Mark Cerny joined him to provide a high-level overview of the Pro console’s specs, followed by footage of games new and old running on Pro hardware.

Thanks to Sony’s forward compatibility, developers will be able to patch previously released titles such as Uncharted 4 and Shadow of Mordor to take advantage of PS4 Pro features like 4K resolution.

“Today marks an exciting new milestone for PlayStation as we unveiled the high-end PS4 Pro in the midst of the console lifecycle, catering to gamers who are looking for a heightened PS4 experience,” said Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “By accelerating the innovation cadence at PlayStation, we’re introducing choice in the marketplace, enabling gamers to choose the PS4 model that meets their needs. Ultimately, with titles that leverage the potential of PS4 Pro – plus PlayStation VR launching soon – all PS4 owners continue to benefit from having the best place to play.”

Nintendo makes surprise announcement Super Mario Run coming to iOS

Today at the Apple’s press conference, it led off with the long-awaited announcement of a new Mario game for iOS, Super Mario Run.

Shigeru Miyamoto was on hand to introduce the game. Super Mario Run is basically a Mario platformer with the traditional coin collecting and jumping over hurdles, but the difference is that tapping the screen makes him jump, and holding the tap will make him jump higher, which will lead to bigger scores. In the end, the goal is still to collect as many coins as possible and reach the flagpole before time runs out.

“Now you can play one-handed,” Miyamoto said, via translator Bill Trinen. “Play while holding on in the subway, eating a hamburger or even eating an apple.”

He also talked about a battle mode called Toad Rally. Players will choose from a list of scores of players and friends from around the world, and then try to beat that score. The score is not only based on coins collected, but the number of toads you impress with different moves. Again, you have to complete the course before time runs out. You will also see a sticker of mario in the corner of the screen, highlighting what your opponent had done during their run.

Toadette will appear at the end to highlight the run, and then you can use coins to expand your Mushroom Kingdom.

The game is planned for iOS first, but the wording made it seem like Android would get a shot at the game later. The game will be one cost, and not pay-to-play, although price will come later.

Release is planned for some time during the holiday.

Today Telltale Games has announced the release date and two special guest stars for the eighth episode of Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series.

The third and final episode in the ‘Adventure Pass’ add-on series, Episode 8: ‘A Journey’s End?’ will be available digitally worldwide starting Tuesday September 13th on PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, and on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360. The episode will be available the same week for compatible iOS devices via the App Store, and for compatible Android-based devices via Google Play and the Amazon Appstore; and will also be coming to the Windows Store.

This episode may be purchased digitally as part of the Adventure Pass for $14.99, which includes access to Episodes 6, 7, and 8 as they release. The episode will also be available individually for $4.99. Players need to own at least Episode 1 in the series, or the season pass disc, in order to purchase Episodes 6, 7, and 8.

In Episode 8: ‘A Journey’s End?’, with Harper leading them to the world of the Old Builders, Jesse and crew finally have their chance to return home… but it won’t be easy, and the stakes are high. Today at Call of Duty XP, Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta is coming 14th October pre-order any version to get access to the beta, with the beta will go live first on PS4 then on Xbox One no word on a PC beta.

But COD XP 2016 reserved a little surprise news for fans of the franchise with the classic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which includes ten campaign has added six new maps for multiplayer scenarios. Also Activision has confirmed the launch itself, for free in next December for the last 6 maps on date to be specified yet.

Confirmed are Crash, Overgrown, Crossfire, Backlot and Bloc, but has not revealed details or clues about the six new game to be added to the next month. The only way to get your hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the Legacy Remastered edition of Call of Duty: Warfare Infinite, which upset many users of the series.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered comes with Infinite next 4th November on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. 

The Call of Duty: Jackal Assault virtual reality experience is on display at the Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles. And Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, just announced that Jackal Assault will run on the Sony PlayStation VR headset that debuts in October.

The Jackal Assault will be available for free to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare players on the PS4.
