Following the whirlwind of release information that Xbox dropped on the world last week following agonising months of waiting for fans, the moment those fans will be able to pre-order either the Xbox Series X and S New Generation consoles is fast approaching on September 22nd.
Today, Xbox UK Marketing Lead, Samuel Bateman, has confirmed the time at which the big retailers will begin to open and take customer pre-orders will be 8am in the UK:
Pre-orders for Xbox Series X | S go live on the 22nd September at 8AM from the following UK retailers:
🖥️Microsoft Store 📦Amazon 🎮GAME 🅰️Argos 🍛Currys PC World 🧸Smyths Toys 👪John Lewis & Partners 🟩AO .com 💜Very .co.uk pic.twitter.com/W0zf1bSVda
Samuel Bateman went on to confirm that customers who place their pre-order with the Microsoft store can expect full payment to be taken the day before the order will be dispatched. For the other retailers I would advise keeping an eye on their websites leading into the 22nd as they might confirm whether a deposit will be required or full payment perhaps to secure your pre-order of the Xbox Series X or S.
As for Xbox All Access, the subscription based model which enables monthly payments to pay off the Xbox Series X or Series S, Samuel Bateman offered further confirmation that currently for the UK, only GAME and Smyth Toys will offer this service:
Some frequent Q&A
🇬🇧8AM *BST* 💵If you purchase from Microsoft Store UK, payment is taken one day before dispatch of the console 💳Xbox All Access is only available via GAME and Smyths Toys for now 🏠Not *all* retailers are listed here. But these are the major ones
It will be likely that other Xbox regions will match this 8am UK time in their own regions which would make it midnight in some regions in the US but more information will no doubt follow in the days leading till the 22nd.

To celebrate the release of The King of Staten Island on DVD and Blu-ray, we are offering you the change to win a copy on Blu-ray.
Pete Davidson is THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND in the moving, comedic event of the year inspired by his own true-life story, available to own for the first time on Digital 31 August 2020 and Blu-ray™ and DVD on 14 September 2020 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Renowned director Judd Apatow (Trainwreck, Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) directs Davidson in this emotional, yet comedic story about love, loss and laughter on Staten Island. THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND comes home with over two hours of never-before-seen bonus content exclusive to Blu-ray.
Scott (Davidson) has been a case of arrested development ever since his firefighter father died when he was seven. He’s now reached his mid-20s having achieved little, chasing a dream of becoming a tattoo artist that seems far out of reach. As his ambitious younger sister (Maude Apatow) heads off to college, Scott is still living with his exhausted ER nurse mother (Oscar®- winner Marisa Tomei) and spends his days smoking weed, hanging with his buddies and secretly hooking up with his childhood friend Kelsey (Bel Powley). When his mother starts dating a loudmouth firefighter (Bill Burr), it sets off a chain of events that will force Scott to grapple with his grief and take his first tentative steps towards moving forward in life.
THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND stars Pete Davidson (“Saturday Night Live”), Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny), Bill Burr (Netflix’s “F is for Family”), Bel Powley (Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show”), Maude Apatow (HBO’s “Euphoria”, Netflix’s “Hollywood”) and Steve Buscemi (The Dead Don’t Die, Armageddon).

It has been a very hectic and busy five days for gamers looking forward to Next Generation consoles following a leak that forced Xbox into revealing not only the Xbox Series S but pricing, release date and when you can pre-order the Xbox Series x as well, which made PlayStation fans all ask…ok, what about us?
Well today PlayStation have announced a new PS5 Showcase for Wednesday 16th September at 9pm UK time.
Now this has to be the big reveal of pricing, release date and information on how and when fans can start to pre-order because it really is the only thing left for them to reveal. My guess at time of posting this article is that the PS5 will be £499 with the all digital version at £449, I really do not see them price matching the Series X simply because Sony know they will sell units whilst Microsoft are clearly focused on getting fans subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. I also expect the release date to be the week after Series X….time will tell!
But I really do hope that this will finally move fans passed the frustration of waiting for information and kick in the hype for the actual launch of the Next Generation of consoles in November.
Please please….let us just get to the fun part of a console launch finally!
As we approach yet another new console generation launch, it is a great time to get all nostalgic and look aback across previous generations for those game defining titles that captivated the hearts and minds of gamers so much so that now, nearly two decades in the case of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2, still feel special with a want to play them again. This is why and how a good quality remake or a remastered version can bring such joy to us old-timers who still have those games in our hearts and I can quite happily say that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 delivers on everything fans of the originals could hope as well as bringing it to a whole new generation.
The team at Vicarious Visions has done a fantastic job of remastering the original two games in the iconic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series by not only keeping what made those games so loved by fans intact but being smart enough to look at the later games and bring some of those elements into the gameplay of Pro Skater 1 & 2 to help refine these early entries for those who still remember the later games. For me, I can always tell when a remaster is going to do well if within the first ten minutes of playing it I am transported back to those feelings and memories of playing the original game and here it did it right from the main menu and throughout and it just achieves everything you need a remastered or remake of a classic game to do. Blending the essentials of a remaster and a remake has absolutely paid off here.
Bringing the sport of Skateboarding to a video game was revolutionary with the Tony Hawk’s series as it managed to genuinely bring every element of it into a accessible and playable game experience which considering the intricacies of the moves and tricks you can perform was quite someone on the original PlayStation console. But now in 2020 that impressive control system is back, refined by some additional tricks and elements from the later games and what you still have now is fantastic brilliant game that allows anyone to pick up a controller, playthrough the exceptional tutorial will pick up the basics needed to jump right into the action.
Presentation wise, this is a very slick and smooth title that brings back both original games together where players can select either game to playthrough the original skate courses, all of things are intact and wonderfully kept as fans would remember them. Visually bringing them both into 2020 has made all the courses and animations look fantastic as anyone who did play the originals will no doubt welcome more smooth curves to blocky pixels. It looks incredible especially on the Xbox One X but where it really excelled for me, and I cannot even imagine the cost to bring this together, but almost the entire original soundtrack is back as well along with some fresh tracks but it is the original songs that bring the very essence of how nostalgia can work when used well. All these pieces come together so incredibly well that for me, this is easily one of the best remasters/remake titles to date.
So, for anyone who is new to the series and wondering what it is you actually do, both games, Pro Skater 1 and 2, have a series of courses which gives the player 2 minutes to complete as many challenges to complete in order to unlock the next course. This can be earning a certain combo score or just basically completing a set number of tricks. Courses still have the secrets and collectibles to discover, all of which are still in the same place on the maps as the original games such as finding all the letters to spell out SKATE or finding video tapes. This style allows players to quickly learn the tricks and play mechanics very quickly and soon you will be pulling off high scoring combos with the fanciest of moves and even if it takes you a while, there is enough here to allow players of all skill levels to get something from the gameplay and it will keep you coming back for more.
I really appreciated how your progress now carries on to either game so all unlocks go with you across the two games and you can float between the two at your leisure making this a brilliant celebration which brings two titles into one without having to bring you out of one in order to load into the next and leaving behind those very things you have worked hard to pick up. The Career mode allows you to earn money to unlock more cosmetics such as skate board styles and clothing for your own skater when you unlock the ability to create your own skater and whilst the customisation is still fairly basic, I personally would not want the RPG detail of creating a character style to something that is just about focusing on gameplay whilst adding a personal touch to your own skater.
I do find it a shame that once you have completed the Career Mode that there is no way to reset the progress and do it all again mainly because it is just so much fun to play through so getting to do it all over again would be additional fun and maybe this is something that could be added going forward as I have seen many others all asking for the same thing. Online wise, well it’s a tad basic right now during this initial launch period with casual and ranked modes where players race to score the highest combo possible but the developer team have confirmed they have plans to expand this experience going forward including private lobbies so just you and your mates can go old school together. Create your own skate park returns and is fluid and works well as you put your own trick stages together and now online, you can both upload and share your own creations as well as downloading others from the community to play yourself.
Overall, this really is an excellent trip down memory lane for anyone who remembers the original games whilst bringing it to a new audience of fans who will find the challenge and rewarding gameplay instantly engrossing. I appreciate that the developers at Vicarious Visions resisted the urge to just remake everything and instead made a conscious effort to keep as much of the original games features exactly how they were and simply refining and streamlining instead of over thinking what needed or could be changed for a new audience. A true example of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” which is something other remasters could well have benefitted from.
This was a fantastic trip down memory lane and playing some of the iconic skate parks like ‘School’ and listening to the original soundtrack sounding and looking even better on my Xbox One X and TV system of 2020 rather than the CRT TV and PlayStation One from 2001 and yeah, the value of this is certainly not lost on me!
Much has changed since the last Ubisoft Forward and even in just the last 24 hours with the reveal of the Xbox Series X/S launch date news which saw Ubisoft announce that the Next Generation console upgrade will be available when the new Xbox consoles as well as the release date for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla being brought forward from November 15 to be a launch day title on November 10th. Amazingly, Ubisoft still has things to showcase including a couple of games rumoured to be a Prince of Persia reboot and another surprise game.
But there has also been some serious real issues Ubisoft has been addressing in recent months due to claims of sexual harassment, misconduct, bullying and sexism within the company and studios with many high position people being fired both quietly and publicly. Though this move also drew criticism for being left out of the event itself, here is the video with a Message from CEO Yves Guillemot:
Now on to the event itself and a chance for Ubisoft fans to get an update on upcoming games and perhaps some surprises as well, below you will see all the new and trailers as they happened in the event as well as my own final thoughts.
The show opens up with the formerly named “Gods and Monsters” but now known as…

Riders Republic Ski, snowboard, bike or wingsuit across a massive multiplayer playground. Available 25th February 2021 on current and next gen!
That’s all folks…..event ends with news that another Ubisoft Forward will be held.
My Final Thoughts……
This was a well paced digital event that had a real sense of focusing on new information on games such as Immortals Fenyx Rishing, Riders Republic as well as confirmation of the rumoured Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake and Scott Pilgrim Vs the World Complete Edition which the original has not been seen since it vanished from digital stores six years ago.
As a fan of the original Watch Dogs as well as a born and bred Londoner, loving that Aiden Pearce is back and playable with his own story arc in Watch Dogs Legion and the recruitment trailer definitely shows a different playing style from the first two games. Release dates take us from October 2020 right through into 2021 with games coming out October, November December and January with Immortals Fenyz Rising absolutely grabbing my attention with its December release which is interesting to follow Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the latter surprising did not feature tonight but then there is another Ubisoft Forward which I sense will lead into the next console Generation launch.
Well presented with lots of fresh news but nothing really huge for those who are not already fans of Ubisoft games, this did the the job and managed expectations yet again I felt.
Well it seems the leak of the Xbox Series S with pricing and specs yesterday has kicked Xbox into high gear as just now, 24 hours later, a whole bunch of news has just dropped for Xbox fans as the Series X now has a Price, release date along with Pre-Orders to go live for Series X/S on September 22nd
This is the tweet…
Xbox Series X: £449 (ERP) Xbox Series S: £249 (ERP)
So the question of who would fire the news first, PlayStation or Xbox, has been answered. Xbox Series X will cost £449 and Series S as we know from yesterday at £249, both to release come November 10th 2020. Pre-Orders will go live on September 22nd in just 13 days time.
Not only that, but EA have also come out and announced that the full EA Play subscription service is to be included at no additional charge to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which gives Xbox LIVE GOLD For console and Xbox Game pass for console and Windows 10 PC for one monthly price. It will join this Christmas holiday.
If all that has not blown your mind, then Ubisoft has also announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will now release earlier in time with the launch of the Xbox Series X/S on November 10th
Assassin's Creed Valhalla launches with Xbox Series X | S on 10th November, 2020. Build the legend of a Viking raider on any console. Upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X at no additional cost. pic.twitter.com/0IH29wpbIz
So Xbox fans have it all now…pre-order date, pricing and release date. What a difference 24 hours can make huh.
Sony still reportedly are going or were planning on doing the same, now all eyes are on them for the same information but bravo to Xbox for taking a leak and turning into a fantastic data drop of news!

In partnership with Mojang Studios, developer and publisher Double Eleven today celebrated the release of the Creeping Winter DLC pack, the second update for action-adventure game Minecraft Dungeons, a standalone title from the hugely successful Minecraft franchise. Set as a wintry storm emerges that threatens to consume all it touches, Creeping Winter features brand new environments, missions, enemies, armor, weapons, and artifacts and is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
The Creeping Winter update also comes with the free Camp Update, which includes new villager merchants, a blacksmith that upgrades items, and a gift wrapper for multiplayer trading. Daily Trials are also included in the free portion of the update and offer new challenges every day, making wild changes to the game mechanics which provide difficult, experimental, or fun challenges for you to overcome.
After developing the console editions of Minecraft Dungeons and the Jungle Awakens DLC with Mojang Studios, Double Eleven’s continued role in the development has been centered around DLC content creation, online support and general updates, with the goal of creating the best possible player experience for the community. Thus, Creeping Winter represents the apex of Double Eleven’s collaboration with Mojang Studios, using everything they have learned in their work on the game so far to take on the role of lead developer of this second DLC adventure.
“It’s been an incredible experience to continue our partnership with Mojang Studios on the PC and console editions of Minecraft Dungeons”, said Lee Hutchinson, founder and CEO of Double Eleven. “They’ve been an incredibly supportive partner, who have given the studio the freedom to flex our creative muscles for the latest update to the Minecraft universe! The Creeping Winter DLC is a testament to that and we can’t wait for players to get their hands on the latest DLC”.
Just ahead of the official launch of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on October 2, fans that digitally pre-order the brand-new Crash game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and the family of Xbox One devices from Microsoft, including the Xbox One X, will be among the first consumers in the world to play via a hands-on demo on Sept. 16.
Gamers all over the world have been clamoring for the chance to play the game early. Activision and Toys For Bob are proud to offer players an early look at two levels from Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, letting them play as Crash or the fiendish Neo Cortex. Additionally, fans will experience first-hand the fun of the wielding the power of some of the new Quantum Masks – Kupuna-Wa to control time and Lani-Loli to phase objects in and out of existence. Those that have pre-ordered the game digitally past and present will be able to download the demo until the game’s global launch*.
As the first original Crash Bandicoot title in more than a decade, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is built from the ground up and brings with it a new onslaught of absurd challenges for players to conquer. In the game, players uncover four powerful Quantum Masks, the guardians of space and time, that must be reunited to restore order to the multiverse.
“Fans are so excited to get their hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the first original Crash Bandicoot title in more than a decade,” said Paul Yan, Co-Studio Head at Toys For Bob. “Even though we’re still a number of weeks out from the official launch, we can’t wait for fans to experience the challenge, fun and love we’ve poured into this game, so we’re really happy to offer them early access to part of the game through a special demo.”
Xbox have more leaks going on recently as well as poorly received official announcement events and quite frankly….we are in September now and the whole delay on pricing, pre-order and release date information for the Xbox Series X and S has become more annoying than hype building excitement.
Overnight another leak reported by Windows Central, showed the Series S for the first time as well as possible pricing and a release date for both ‘Series’ consoles. This leak has forced the American Xbox social media accounts to finally officially confirm the name and look of the Xbox Series S all digital console:
👀 Let’s make it official!
Xbox Series S | Next-gen performance in the ˢᵐᵃˡˡᵉˢᵗ Xbox ever. $299 (ERP).
So they were correct on the look of the console, which so far to me looks like they saw the Adaptive Xbox Controller and just went….”make that a console” and we are waiting to hear about the specs which is no doubt going to happen today with this response to the big leak finally forcing Xbox hand to officially reveal it after a month of everyone knowing the “Series S” existence, this article will be updated when that happens.
Could this mean that the rest of the information they reported on was correct:
We can confirm via our sources that the entry-level Xbox Series S will cost $299 at retail, with a $25 per month Xbox All Access financing option, which Microsoft is planning to push hard via various retailers and a large global rollout. The more powerful Xbox Series X will cost $499, with a $35 per month Xbox All Access financing option.
Both consoles will launch on November 10, 2020.
November 10th launch makes sense, puts it the week before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, two titles Xbox are in a marketing deal for them. Pricing seems to match recent reports as well and the Xbox All Access method of paying off the cost of the new consoles per month makes a lot of sense, especially rolling it out to more regions.
Now will this push Sony into their big reveal of pricing, pre-ordering and release date, they do seem to be gearing up ready to go with the US PlayStation blog allowing fans to register interest in pre-ordering using their PSN account.
All I know is, Microsoft stalling on pricing and revealing more information of their next generation consoles has allowed leaks to happen for weeks nw, after a confident start to the Series X in December 2019, the last few events have delivered only over hyped messes of event seen with the big reveal of HALO Infinite which lead to ridicule before it was delayed into some time 2021 leaving the Series X with no flagship launch title. It is a mess and has put a number of people off jumping on the new generation of Xbox when it does launch.
👀 Let’s make it official!
Xbox Series S | Next-gen performance in the 🔎 smallest 🔍 Xbox ever. £249.99 (ERP).
Fair to say that their hands have been forced and the timetable moved forward so the next few days will be interesting with Sony rumoured to be finally revealing PS5 pricing, release date and pre-orders opening tomorrow on September 9th.

Final Thoughts
To get the most out of the iO Series 9 toothbrush you should download the Oral-B app. Once you have done that pairing the app and the toothbrush together is a quick and easy process.
You can then use the app to set goals known as dental care journeys, for example healthier gums, and have the app tell you what to do and when. You can follow your progress, gain medals and so much more.
Obviously you don’t have to use the app if you don’t want to – you can just use the toothbrush on it’s own but you will lose out on some great additional benefits.
Charging the toothbrush was simply a case of placing it on the magnetic charging stand and waiting. The battery life on the toothbrush between charges was excellent.
Using the toothbrush is easy – just switch it on and start the cleaning routine. If you are pressing too hard (and we have all done that) then the toothbrush will advise you by displaying an easy to see colour ring so you can adjust the pressure. The feeling of the brush on your tooth is actually quite comfortable. I have used toothbrushes before where it can feel quite hard or harsh, but the iO Series 9 doesn’t feel that way at all.
There is a full colour display on the toothbrush that greets you when you switch it on, shows you which mode you are using, how long you have used it for and more. If you don’t use it for the right amount of time then you get a sad face!
There is a travel case included in the box so that you can easily carry your toothbrush around with you if you going away from home.
This is by far the best electric toothbrush I have ever used – it handles very well, it feels great on your teeth and gums and helps you on your dental journey. The A.I. even recognises how your brush your teeth and guides you to doing it better!
The iO Series 9 comes in three different colours, and backed by a 2 year guarantee and a 30 day risk-free trial you can’t really go wrong, and your teeth and gums will thank you!
The iO Series 9 is available now priced around £250 (the actual retail price is £500 but there are some really great deals going on).
