Microsoft have updated the Windows 8 music app.
Various performance enhancements and feature updates, including the addition of free streaming from the Xbox Music Store and Smart DJ, which creates customised playlists based on your favorite artists.

A collection of luxury supercars took to the streets of the capital last week, delivering the ultimate in commuter travel. These vehicles gathered in London for the public to hire and ride in, marking the launch of videogame, Need For Speed: Most Wanted.
City workers were given the chance to see London in a different way, as the scheme encouraged the public to track down specially designed supercar docking stations at sites including Waterloo and Covent Garden. These were secret settings, with commuters tweeting the location once they found it, before taking their seat for a one-off ride.
The cars – a Porsche 911 Carrera, Lamborghini LP560 Sypder, Mercedes SLS and BMW M3 – were exact matches to those found in Most Wanted, with the scheme mimicking what takes place in the game; find the car and take a ride in it.

If you run Parallels on your Mac and you plan on upgrading any of your virtual machines to Windows 8 then you need to ready an important service advisory first.

We have completed our testing of the upgrade to Windows 8 process. Be sure that you are using the very latest build of Parallels Desktop 8 before upgrading your virtual machine. To be sure you are on the latest build, go to the Parallels Desktop menu and click Check for Updates.
There are some changes to the Windows upgrade process depending on whether you are upgrading from Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. We have created a guide that will help you understand what to do and what to expect. We strongly recommend reading this before you upgrade. http://kb.parallels.com/en/114973
As always, we recommend creating a backup of your virtual machine before you do the upgrade. Tonight Apple released MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0.
The update includes graphics performance and reliability enhancements and improves compatibility with some USB devices and is recommended for all Mac notebooks introduced in June 2012.

Verizon will begin accepting pre-orders on the Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC 8X Windows Phone 8 devices this Friday at 1am eastern time. Read on for details.

Verizon Starts WP8 Preordering
Today Angry Birds StarWars was released, I was very excited to see Star Wars Angry Birds come to mobile devices and today it launched on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. You can now purchase and download Angry Birds Star Wars for the iPhone (iTunes link) for 69p/99 cents and for the iPad for £1.99/$2.99 (iTunes link). It is also on the Google Play Store in HD format for £1.99/$2.99 and regular format for free (with ads). Also released on Windows Phone 8 today aswell the Windows Phone version costs £0.79.

They look identical, but the newer Kindle, on the right of the image, is subtly more refined than its elder sibling on the left. The incredibly lightweight electronic book reader from Amazon, with its paper-like unlit screen and display that uses ink particles for a realistic and easy-to-read look, has had an update.

These images show the old and new electronic ink displays in extreme close-up (excuse the dust on my older model). The new display has much smoother fonts. Up close like this, you can see that the newer Kindle has a less pixelated appearance to the lettering. You can’t see the pixels on either model, but the new one is definitely clearer. The paper background is also whiter, giving higher contrast and making it easier to read.
The other noticeable difference is the page turn speed. Flicking through the dictionary on both devices at once to find a page for the close-ups, the page turns on the new model are noticeably faster. The older model changes through a black screen before displaying the new page. The newer model morphs more quickly from the text of one page to the text of the next.
Any avid reader will easily make the transition to the Kindle from paper books, even if they are sceptical at first. The sheer ease with which you can carry several books with you on holiday or on a long journey makes the Kindle a must-have for readers. With its affordable price, it’s sure to be on many a Christmas list again this year. The new Kindle gets a CDW Gold Award for making a brilliant device that little bit better.
