Navy Field 2 enhances its naval powers with new update

Today, NEXON Europe announced new nation content for the fast-paced World War I and II naval battling MMORTS, Navy Field 2. The update, called Marine Nationale (name of the French Navy), allows players to voyage towards the Atlantic coast of Europe using ships made with high quality steel, powerful engines, and superior weaponry that will prove to be advantageous while attacking enemies.

Marine Nationale will also be supported by new updates in the form of two new maps, the Ocean, providing open naval warfare for players to battle it out in the vast seas, and the Narrow Sea, creating close combat and fierce engagement. To make these battles even more enthralling, players can take on opponents with the full manual control update to show off their true abilities and skills.

Pocket Titans RPG adventure coming September for iOS

Batman: Arkham Origins online mode trailer

Earlier today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins will ship with a mode that allows players to take the franchise’s award-winning gameplay online to play with friends and foes. Here is a new trailer to showcase the online component that blends the traditional Arkham gameplay with third-person shooter mechanics and is in development by Splash Damage.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, the Wii U system, and Windows PC.  Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, the handheld version developed by Armature Studio, will be available for PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo 3DS. Company of Heroes 2 adds classic map to multiplayer

One of Company of Heroes’ most popular multiplayer maps is making a comeback, with a suitable Eastern Front twist.

Created for the original game as part of a Relic map design competition, Langres quickly became one of the most popular small-scale multiplayer maps.   Over the years Company of Heroes players have clocked up over 3.2 million matches and 1.2 million hours battling for control of this unassuming rural location.

Now Company of Heroes 2 players will be able to experience this classic for themselves. Reimagined in both traditional summer and new winter variations, Langreskaya will be patched into the game for free later today, Tuesday 30th July.

Batman: Arkham Origins Online element revealed

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins will ship with a mode that allows players to take the franchise’s award-winning gameplay online to play with friends and foes.  The online component blends the traditional Arkham gameplay with third-person shooter mechanics and is in development by Splash Damage.

The online mode will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.  The game is scheduled to launch worldwide Oct. 25, 2013.

The Batman: Arkham Origins Online mode offers players the chance to hunt as Batman or Robin against the most challenging opponents yet, friends and other gamers online.  Players can also take on the role of a Super-Villain Elite and get a peek behind the curtain of what it’s like to side with The Joker or Bane as they establish their legacy by taking down Batman and Robin, and anyone else who gets in their way.  Fans will even be able call in the ultimate reinforcement to help turn the tide in any match by playing as The Joker or Bane themselves.

Developed by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.  Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. Electronic Sports League to introduce Infinite Crisis to European eSports audiences

Interactive Entertainment and its developer Turbine, Inc. today announced a partnership with Turtle Entertainment that will introduce Infinite Crisis to European eSports audiences through Electronic Sports League (short: ESL). The collaboration kicks off at gamescom, hosted in Cologne (Germany) from 21st August until 25th August, and offers fans a chance to play and watch Infinite Crisis in the ESL hall..

The gamescom collaboration is the first of many activities in an ongoing partnership between Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and ESL, which will continue to create interesting competitive leagues for Infinite Crisis, which will be accessible through the experienced ESL platforms and shown live via ESL’s own live television studio: ESL TV. Every moment of Infinite Crisis’ entrance into the world of eSports in Europe will be streamed to audiences via Twitch.tv, the global leading streaming platform for gamers.

Auto Club Revolution – Progression Update

The online racing game Auto Club Revolution is undergoing a massive update to offer more flexibility and a deeper player experience. The Progression Update covers a wealth of improvements and new systems which will engage with racers on a new level.

Here is a Q&A session with Christoph Vietzke, Executive Producer on Auto Club Revolution, here’s what Christoph said:

What is the Progression Update?
ACR’s Progression Update is a more robust and balanced version of Auto Club Revolution. From looking at the free-to-play market and taking on board player feedback, we have implemented new systems to improve performance and stability into the racing environment. New progression systems have been introduced to enhance the player experience, making ACR a more engaging and competitive game.

What does it mean to be a ‘Progression’ game?
Previously a player could purchase any car or upgrade at anytime, as long as they had the necessary credits, or ebucks. With the new progression system a player must unlock cars and upgrades as they increase their rank. With the Progression Update, ACR is encouraging the player to progress through the game car by car making Auto Club Revolution into a driver journey.

What are the benefits of the new system?
Having cars unlocked by levelling up adds a more honest and free approach into the ACR experience. EXP points are earned by players participating and completing races, the more a player races, the more EXP they will earn. Earn enough EXP and a player ranks up, giving access to new cars and upgrades that will always be available for Credit purchases. As a player climbs the ranks they will be rewarded with access to better cars with higher levels of performance. Higher performance cars will also earn a player more EXP and Credits per race, increasing the return of investment the player has made to unlock and own the car.

What happens to a current players ranking, how does that cross over to the new system?

A player’s rank will be transferred to the new system so they can continue on their progression paths.

Are all cars available for purchase with Credits?
50+ cars (that’s almost 90%) are now available to purchase with Credits, but they have to be unlocked in the showroom through ranking up. This includes five brand new cars that will be available for players to unlock (details on which cars these are will be revealed soon!). The remaining cars are available as Premium cars only, which are purchased via E-bucks. To be absolutely clear the premium cars allow player’s access to higher level cars direct, but these cars will never be the strongest cars in the game.
The most powerful cars in the game still have to be unlocked through proper competition; completing races and participating in events. This results in the game being fair to players that are willing to compete in and complete the racer journey in order to race the top cars of the world.

What are Premium cars?
Premium cars are a range of special pre-upgraded cars that will give the player an accelerated rate of rewards, earning them additional EXP and Credits when used in a race. They cover a range of performances, but are not the best cars in the game. The benefit of Premium cars is that they will help to accelerate experience payouts and help a player achieve ranks quicker.

What happens to cars which current players have purchased?
Veteran players, or anyone who played the game before the implementation of the Progression Update will still retain the cars they own, these will be exempt from the progression system. This will reward our existing community with a bonus for being part of our community so far.

How are damage and repair models being implemented into ACR?
New damage mechanics have been introduced in the Progression Update. This is something that the community has been asking for, for a long time. We now feel that the game has the right balance to fully integrate it into the game. Damage will only be active in competitive races (A.I. and multiplayer) and will not affect single player practice races. During a race, a car can lose up to approximately 10% of its performance through damage. A car will never be damaged beyond a point at which the user could not complete the race. After the race a damaged car will be unavailable to race again until repairs have been made. Repairs cost a small amount of Credits, corresponding to the amount of damage a car has taken.
Unlike other games repairs happen instantly meaning a player can race their favourite cars again quickly. The damage and repair system adds another dimension to the car racing experience Auto Club Revolution aims to be.

How is the upgrade system going to work?
Rather than being able to attribute a large number of upgrades to a car we are making players take a more tactical approach by giving the player a choice of applying up to three upgrades. Each car has 14 different upgrades which can be applied to increase various elements of performance, but players can only use three of these at a time. Players can customise their load outs for specific tracks, offering a more tailored experience. There will also be two additional Premium slots available to purchase allowing for further customisations. Upgrades will count for approximately 15% of overall car performance, so it is down to the player to pick their upgrades carefully to suit their driving style and the tracks they are racing.

How will rebalancing of car upgrades affect players?
Stock cars (cars with no upgrades) have been re-valued to reflect their real-life counterparts more accurately; particularly, the tyre grip of the stock cars has been improved resulting in a quality driving experience for each car instead of only upgraded cars. All the other upgrades have been made to fit specific situations.

Journey of a Roach, developed by the Swiss team of Koboldgames, in co-operation with Daedalic Entertainment, takes players to a sarcastic, post-apocalyptic world: Roach Jim and his sidekick Bud are out and about to find their way from a deserted vault to the Earth’s surface. Players steer them through classic point & click adventure game puzzles. Certain challenges can be overcome by using the roach’s natural attributes. Being roaches, Jim and Bud have the ability to crawl up walls and on ceilings, as well as on items.

Players use the third-insect-perspective to guide Jim and Bud through the 3D comic world. There will be no written or spoken dialogue in Journey of a Roach as the insect use their very own, easily understandable signal language.

Koboldgames and Daedalic Entertainment have scheduled Journey of a Roach for release in November 2013, for PC and Mac.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot Invites Players to a Second Open House

Ubisoft has announced the second in a series of Open House events for the studio’s upcoming free-to-play PC title, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot.  The Open House allows anyone that signs up a chance to get a sneak preview of The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot while the game is still in closed beta.

The second Open House event for The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot will take place from July 30 at 3pm UK time to August 6 at 10.59pm UK time. Players will be able to sign up or sign in with their existing Uplay account at www.themightyquest.com, and will be granted immediate closed beta access during the event.

To kick off the Open House event, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot development team has issued its first Opulencian Edict, known as “UNLEASH THE CHICKENS!” which states, “If the community is able to extinguish the existence of no less than 10 million chickens during the course of the second Open House event – the chicken will be unlocked and become available as a castle defence item for all players in the next game update.  Chickens have been seen congregating in Castle Chicken Shack and Castle Chicken HQ – you must band together to end their feathery, bucket-headed plots once and for all!”

– Provide a region with a new visual style that is highlighted by vistas from each city.
– Two clusters of five cities that are connected by boats traveling across the lake.
