Have you got your Car Keys for Forza 5 Yet

0

“Forza Motorsport 5” has partnered with McLaren Automotive and legendary racing and stunt driver Tanner Foust to create one of the world’s fastest camera cars, which was used to produce “Forza FilmSpeed,” the blisteringly fast, 120 mph zoetrope-based short film featuring scenes from this year’s biggest racing game, “Forza Motorsport 5.”

In “Forza FilmSpeed,” fans enter the track with Foust as he grips the wheel of one of the world’s fastest production supercars, the McLaren 12C. The carbon fibre structure of this $300,000 supercar has been outfitted with an additional several hundred kilos of equipment to fit a Hollywood-strength, purpose built HD camera rig, with the goal of capturing the world’s fastest zoetrope. Acclaimed automotive director and rally champion Jeff Zwart directed the project, which was developed after months of careful research and preparation.

Invented in 1834 by William Horner, the zoetrope is a simple device that turns static pictures into moving images. Small illustrations are placed equal distances apart inside the bottom of an open drum and when spun, the static illustrations give off the illusion of motion; the faster they go, the more fluid the animation. Filmmakers today have far more advanced technologies at their disposal, but the basic concept of the zoetrope rings true. The more illustrations you use and the faster you flip between them, the smoother the animation.

Hundreds of aluminium boards, each featuring a single frame taken directly from “Forza Motorsport 5,” were spaced precisely six inches apart and placed along a race track in Birmingham, Alabama. The Foust-driven McLaren 12C hit meticulously controlled speeds of up to 120 mph to capture images and create a technical marvel, capturing the essence of precision and heart-pounding action found in “Forza Motorsport 5.”

“Forza Motorsport 5” is a cinematic automotive journey starring the world’s greatest cars and tracks. Built from the ground up to take advantage of Xbox One and the vast power of the cloud, no game better delivers the wide-eyed thrill of racing. The game is available now for pre-order from participating retailers and will launch on November 22, 2013, exclusively with the debut of Xbox One. Day One editions of the game will come with three exclusive cars and liveries

SimCity Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack announced

0

Electronic Arts today announced that the SimCity Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack is currently in development for Mac and PC and will be arriving November 15.

scep1_corporatewide

Built upon the foundation of the ultimate city building simulation that has more than 2 million players worldwide, SimCity Cities of Tomorrow gives players the ability to transform their cities as they take them on a journey 50 years into the future. Using new technologies and experimental urban planning techniques, mayors will shape the destinies of their cities, thriving in a utopia of clean technologies, or a dystopia of hyper-commercialism.

scep1_add_academy

SimCity Cities of Tomorrow gives players an entirely new way to dream about their city of the future. New regions, new future technology, new city specializations and new transportation methods will transform the way that cities take shape and evolve. Will they create a utopian society underpinned by clean technology under the auspices of the Academy, or encourage giant corporation OmegaCo to strip-mine natural resources and pollute in the name of feeding consumerism? For the first time in the history of the franchise, cities can be built vertically with enormous multi-zone MegaTowers that extend high into the sky and dwarf the rest of the city. Education and research will help players discover new technologies that make their cities less polluted, less reliant on natural resources, managed day-to-day by service drones and fueled by green energy. As the population increases, Sims will live, work, and play closer together. When players have finished deciding whether they want their Sims to live together in harmony, or as members of an exploited workforce, they can rain chaos upon them by unleashing an all-new disaster exclusive to this expansion pack.

The SimCity base game is available now on Mac and PC and developed by Maxis. SimCity is cross-platform compatible, so all players play together across the same servers. Players can play both versions with the same Origin account, allowing them to seamlessly continue their cities, achievements and leaderboard progress across the Mac and PC. Since its launch in March, SimCity has had seven major game updates that have made upgrades to the core simulation and provided game content and features at no additional charge.

Tecmo Koei Europe has announced a number of exciting titles currently under development for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStationVita, and slated for release in the first months of 2014.

Toukiden The Age of Demons

TOUKIDEN: THE AGE OF DEMONS

Following a ground breaking success in Japan where its current sales stand well over the 400,000 mark, an impressive feat for an original IP, Toukiden: the Age of Demons is now being localised for release in Europe for the PlayStation Vita handheld system.

In Toukiden, players can customise characters, weapons and armour and form a group of hunters to take down the destructive Oni- demons of varying strength and size who have invaded the world through cracks in space and time. This visually stunning game boasts an extensive character creation mode, six non-player characters beautifully designed by Atelier Ayesha artist Hidari, and six different weapon types, each of which can be forged and upgraded to the player’s preferences. Toukiden: The Age of Demons, is set against a backdrop inspired by various historical periods of Japan, while it also features 200 characters based on both fictional and historical Japanese figures, whose souls help players strengthen their team and defeat their enemies.

The latest instalment in the long-loved Atelier series, Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, is a direct sequel to Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk and will be released in Europe in early 2014 for the PlayStation3.

For the first time in PlayStation3, Atelier series players can choose if they will follow the story of Escha or Logy, a novelty that offers a unique story perspective and gameplay experience. Escha’s story is a delightful tale of the everyday adventures of an alchemist that Atelier series’ fans love, whereas Logy’s story follows a darker approach filled with traditional RPG elements and focused on world exploration.

DECEPTION IV: BLOOD TIES

From the producer of Fatal Frame comes the re-imagining of the classic Tecmo title ‘Devil’s Deception’, first released in 1996 on the PlayStation.
