Bohemia Interactive today announced the release date of the second campaign episode for Arma 3. Picking up from where the first episode left off, the campaign is set to continue with the release of the ‘Adapt’ episode on Tuesday January 21st, 2014.
The official campaign for Arma 3, named ‘The East Wind’, unfolds over three episodes: ‘Survive’, ‘Adapt’, ‘Win’. In the first episode, players were introduced to Ben Kerry, a regular soldier who’s part of a NATO-peacekeeping mission in the Mediterranean. After a botched withdrawal trapped Kerry’s unit on the island of Stratis, in the midst of a flashpoint, they attempt an escape to the neighbouring island of Altis.
“While the first part of the campaign focused on the basics of infantry combat, this second ‘Adapt’ episode plays with the other cool features of Arma 3’s sandbox”, said Jaroslav Kasny, Playable Content Lead for Arma 3. “Players will find more open and unorthodox scenarios, and with the help of guerrilla warfare, set out to defeat a much stronger enemy.”
Before the upcoming holidays, ahead of the second episode’s launch, Bohemia Interactive will already be releasing the episode’s new sandbox content. Included in this (free) package are 3 additional vehicles for the Altis Armed Forces faction. The Wy-55 Hellcat helicopter has previously seen action with the British Armed Forces, and now provides a maneuverable and armed aerial reconnaissance platform for the AAF. The FV-720 Mora is a tracked Infantry Fighting Vehicle best employed in combined arms warfare. Last but not certainly least, we find the fully new MBT-52 tank, brought in to the round out the faction’s war fighting options. The vehicles, plus other new content such as black versions of the MX rifle family, infra-red grenades and the LRPS sniper scope, will be made available on Wednesday December 11th via an automatic update on Steam.

Nordic Games has announced that console players can test their investigative skills in The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief, now available as an Arcade title on the Xbox Live for the Xbox 360, priced £7.99 per episode.
All three episodes of The Raven, ‘The Eye of the Sphinx’, ‘Ancestry Of Lies’, and ‘A Murder Of Ravens’ are being released on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 simultaneously today. The version for Sony’s PLAYSTATION Network will be released in Q1 2014.
Beautifully animated, this adventure is a daring hunt across 1960s Europe where players journey through thrilling atmospheres and stunning environments with the aim of catching the infamous art burglar -The Raven. Players will need to follow the notorious thief’s trademark black feathers in the quest to capture him and finally put his crime spree to an end. The version on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 will leave players on the edge of their seats.
“We’ve put everything into the console version to deliver the same experience on different peripheral devices,” says Martin Kreuch, Producer at Nordic Games. “Working with the Unity Engine opens a lot of opportunities in this regard, but like almost every engine, also creates certain challenges. Together with the KING Art team, however, we managed to overcome them.”
“It was a unique challenge to translate the classic controls of an Adventure game to something that work well on consoles,” says Arne von Öhsen, Programmer at KING Art. “We think we managed exactly that and eagerly await the feedback from the console community.”
The Raven combines the thrill of the chase ‘whodunit’ with the risk and reward of a heist story where players get to experience both sides of the story as the investigator and the thief. Paying tribute to Agatha Christie’s crime stories and gangster movies from the 60s and 70s, The Raven is set to be a thrilling episodic journey.
All three episodes for The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief are out today on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 and are also available for PC (Windows/MAC/Linux).
