Second place in the goal-scoring charts went to Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o with 30,578,146 goals. Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke (26,382,579 goals), Newcastle United’s Loïc Rémy (21,366,615 goals) and Chelsea’s Fernando Torres (20,093,762 goals) make up the remaining places in the Top 5 of the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team top goal-scorers chart.

Konami Digital Entertainment today released its eerie Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories titles via the PlayStation Network service.

 

Previously available for Sony’s PSP, the two games are priced at just £7.99 each and offer a very different take on KONAMI’s legendary Silent Hill series.

Silent Hill: Origins acts as a prequel to the series and follows Travis Grady, a truck driver, as he enters the mist-shrouded town to dig up information on a girl he rescued from a fire. Silent Hill: Origins uses the series’ famed third-person perspective to trail Travis as he explores the seemingly abandoned town, collecting items to help him in his search. As he ventures further into the town, however, memories of his childhood haunt him – and then the monsters come out…

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is widely regarded as the most innovative addition to the series, and as it adapts its gameplay to the decisions the player makes. Effectively a reimagining of the first Silent Hill, Shattered Memories retains the premise of the first game – Harry Mason’s search for his missing daughter – but has a plot that changes dependent on how the user plays. The game is framed by a visit to a psychotherapist, wherein the user is asked questions – while the characters Harry meets in the game will also react differently depending on how they are approached, the questions they are asked, or how Harry interacts physically.

 

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories also removes all combat elements from the game, with players forced to flee when the town’s inhuman denizens give chase, adding a nightmarish quality to the game and the impression that danger lurks in every dark corner.

WildStar week continues here on CDW, and at a recent event for the new MMO WildStar, I got to sit down with Stephan Frost to talk about warplots in WildStar.

WildStar is an upcoming sci-fi MMORPG with a stylized cartoon-ish look currently in development by NCSoft’s Southen California-based Carbine Studios. Play will be set on the newly discovered planet of Nexus, once home to the technologically advanced race called the Eldan. Long ago, they mysteriously vanished. Now that the planet has been rediscovered, Explorers, Soldiers, Scientists, and Settlers are coming here from across the galaxy in search of adventure, fortune, and possibly the dark secrets of the Eldan.

What is included in the newest update to PS4 version 1.70

Today Sony has released the newest update for the PS4 which is version 1.70, with the new addition is ShareFactory, Sony’s new video editing app and answer to the Xbox One’s Upload Studio.

Also new addition of new light bar settings for the DualShock 4 controller. You can now change it to bright, medium or dim in the settings menu. It’s worth pointing out that the touchpad has also been updated so you can use it to navigate the on-screen keyboard.

The 1.70 firmware update also adds automatic pre-download (Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is one of the first games to make use of this), an option to disable HDCP for games, live broadcasting in HD and archiving support, and new PlayStation Camera commands.

SHAREfactory: After you update your PS4 to v1.70, an icon to download our free SHAREfactory app will appear on your PS4 system’s home screen once it’s available. Once installed, SHAREfactory allows you to easily customize your gameplay videos with special effects, video commentary with picture-in-picture capability through PlayStation Camera, and custom soundtracks using the included audio tracks or your original music imported from a USB drive. You can then share your videos on Facebook or export them to an external USB storage device. The app is packed with plenty of cool, but accessible, tools. It’s simple enough to use for beginning editors, while functioning as a rich video editor for those with more creative aspirations. Check out our new SHAREfactory video above that provides a walkthrough of what you can expect:

Automatic pre-download: You’ll soon be able to start downloading select pre-ordered games from PlayStation Store. This new feature allows you to get to your games faster by automatically downloading select pre-ordered games up to several days in advance of the release, so that it’s ready to play as soon as the game is released on launch day. There’s also a countdown timer prior to the release of the game so you’ll know how soon your game will be available for you to start playing.

Option to disable HDCP for games: This highly requested feature will allow you to have the option to turn off HDCP for games so you can capture longer gameplay sessions directly from your HDMI output and export them elsewhere.

USB export option for captured gameplay: It’s now even easier to show off your heroic gaming moments and the SHAREfactory videos you create with the world using this feature to export your videos and screenshots to a USB drive. Just click on the DUALSHOCK 4 SHARE button, save your gameplay on a USB drive, and then share your proudest achievements on other social networks and other video platforms.

Live broadcasting in HD and archiving support: Increased the resolution for live broadcasts so you and your friends can watch games livestreamed in 720p HD. You can also archive your broadcasts on Twitch or Ustream and watch them again later.

New SHARE options: New SHARE settings that will give you better control of what you want to share with your friends. Here is what you can look forward to:

  • Change the default gameplay recording time in the SHARE menu under Video Clip Settings.
  • Save only the video clips and screenshots you want by selecting Upload Screenshots or Upload Video Clips for each capture. Also upload video clips and screenshots during your live gameplay broadcasts.
  • Select specific Facebook audiences to share each video or screenshot with.

New DUALSHOCK 4 options: New light bar settings have been added for DUALSHOCK 4, allowing you to change it to Bright, Medium or Dim in the Settings menu. The touchpad has also been updated, allowing you to navigate the on-screen keyboard using the DUALSHOCK 4 touchpad.

New Friends options: It’s now easier to find Friends and send requests with the ability to search Friends-of-Friends, view Mutual Friends on another user’s profile, and accept Friend requests directly from the Friends list.

New Trophies sort option: You can now sort Trophies by rarity in the Options menu.

PlayStation Store payment support: Similar to PS3, we’re introducing Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) for PS4 for content purchased on PS Store, starting with PayPal support.

More PlayStation Camera commands: More voice commands are added to PlayStation Camera, allowing you to launch the apps installed on your PS4 with the sound of your voice.

New PlayStation Plus icon: For Plus members, you’ll now have the PS Plus icon appear next to your SEN ID on the login screen, home screen and other areas across the PS4 system’s sleek user interface.

Music Unlimited SHARE options: With a Music Unlimited subscription, you can easily share your favourite songs with your friends by pressing the SHARE button on your DUALSHOCK 4.

3. Paste in your personal serial key from our email and click Apply.

4. If you receive a success message, you’re good to go! If not double-check the serial key s correctly entered.

5. Download the client by clicking “Manage” link under WildStar Beta in your “My Games” list

Ubisoft announces Season Pass for Watch_Dogs

Today, Ubisoft revealed details of the Season Pass for the open-world, action-adventure game, Watch Dogs. The Watch Dogs Season Pass will give you access to a unique single-player story featuring T-Bone, a brilliant but eccentric hacker; a new Digital Trip game mode, Conspiracy, plus new missions, weapons, outfits and more. Get more than 25% savings versus buying each piece separately.

The Watch Dogs Season Pass will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Driveclub Given Release Date

DriveClub has been given a release date by Sony. Originally planned as a PS4 launch title last November, the exclusive racing game will now be released on 8th October.

Sony added that since February a new game director – Paul Rustchynsky, who previously led MotorStorm RC – has been helming the project.

“We planned for the game to be ready for early 2014 and are committed to delivering on our ambitious promise of creating a truly innovative, socially connected racing game,” said president of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida.

“The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way.

“What DriveClub offers has not been previously achieved in this category and because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you’re waiting for.”
