Alien: Isolation’s Add-on pack, ‘Corporate Lockdown’ Out Now

The first of five add-on packs for Alien: Isolation, ‘Corporate Lockdown’, releases today, offering players three new challenging and terrifying maps for the game’s Survivor Mode. Each challenge pack offers a new perspective on the events on-board Sevastopol Station in the days before the arrival of the Weyland-Yutani team, with a new playable character, a unique set of objectives and a new game mode.

In ‘Corporate Lockdown’, Seegson Executive Ransome has learnt that he has been abandoned by his paymasters. Knowing that the Torrens is on the way, he decides to make his escape and hitch a ride on board, taking decoded Nostromo data with him. However, while escaping he wants to tie up a few loose ends… Across three new challenge maps, ‘Severance’, ‘Scorched Earth’ and ‘Loose Ends’, players are challenged to compete against others through Alien: Isolation’s online leaderboards, to escape the station in the fastest possible time or obtain the top score through numerous side quests and hidden bonus objectives. New to ‘Corporate Lockdown’ is the addition of Gauntlet Mode where players are challenged to top the Gauntlet Mode leaderboards by completing all three challenge maps back-to-back without dying.

‘Corporate Lockdown’ will be available to download via online marketplaces for available platforms today, priced at $7.99/€6.99/£5.59 and will be followed by four more packs: ‘Trauma’, ‘Safe Haven’, ‘Lost Contact’ and ‘The Trigger’. Each will feature a new playable character alongside a mix of new maps, objectives and game modes to challenge even the most proficient player. Players wishing to explore every inch of Sevastopol Station can take advantage of the Alien: Isolation Season Pass, offering access to all five Survivor Mode add-on packs at up to a 25% discount. All add-on packs are scheduled to be released by March 2015.

Today Square Enix has announced that Dreams of Ice (Patch 2.4) for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn is available from today for Windows PC, the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4.

Dreams of Ice is FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn’s biggest update to date and comprises a host of new and expanded storylines, environments and features for fans to be excited about.  As the age-old war between the nation of Ishgard and the Dravanian Horde struggles on in the barren hills of Coerthas, The Dreams of Ice update introduces a brand new main scenario, where new threats and adventures lie.

Highlights include a New Primal Battle against Shiva , The Lady of Frost, whom players will fight in new hard and extreme quests in The Akh Afah Apitheatre.  Also accompanying the new primal battle is an all-new dungeon – Snowcloak. A great ice wall moulded in the aftermath of Bahamut’s rampage, once thought to be impassable, that demands to be investigated.

The update also offers a New Rogue Class and Ninja Job. The Rogues, lurking in the shadows adhering to no laws but their own, are covert professionals. These skilful and agile fighters can make quick work of enemies using knives and daggers. Completing Rogue quests unlocks the new Ninja job, offering a unique breed of highly trained and stealthy combatants. With the ability to manipulate the vital energies of the land, the air and of living beings, adventures can master the arts of the Ninja, and learn to bend the tide of battle at their own will.

The arrival of Patch 2.4 also brings exciting updates to existing features inFINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, including the addition of hard modes for two of its dungeons: Sastasha and The Sunken Temple of Qarn, as well as new housing wards and PvP ranks. Other additions include The Final Coil of Bahamut – where the resurrection of the elder primal is nigh, and a new Allagan Tomestone currency.

Ubisoft recently took me to Paris to look at Far Cry 4 and they allowed me to capture some of my gameplay – here are some single player campaign gameplay videos.

Far Cry 4 is an open-world, first-person shooter that delivers the most expansive and immersive Far Cry experience ever. Players find themselves in Kyrat, a breath-taking, perilous and wild region in the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story. For the first time ever, with Guns for Hire, players can invite a friend or AI companion to join them in the exotic open world, providing an exponential expansion of possibilities.

Far Cry 4 takes you to Kyrat, a mountainous paradise nestled in the Himalayas. Torn apart by civil war where the Kyrati people, led by the Golden Path, fight to take the power back from Pagan Min’s dictatorship.

All gameplay videos were captured from the PS4 version of the game using a build that was around 6 weeks old at the time of capturing, so if you see any little glitches or bugs they have most likely been fixed now. Also all cut-scenes and major plot points have been removed from the videos so as not to spoil the story.

300 Rise of an Empire was adapted from the screenplay by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad, and based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel Xerxes. Producer Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, Watchmen) teams up with up-and-coming director Noam Murro to create this dramatic and explosive battle in the same visually stunning style as the original hit 300.

The stars Sullivan Stapleton (Gangster Squad), as General Themistokles; Eva Green (Dark Shadows), as Artemisia; alongside Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), as the Spartan Queen Gorgo; David Wenham (Better Man), as Dilios; Andrew Tiernan (Ripper Street), as Ephialtes; Andrew Pleavin (The Borgias), as Daxos; and Rodrigo Santoro (The Last Stand) returns in the role of the Persian God-King, Xerxes.
