Terminator : Dark Fate Confirmed to Have R Rating Along with a Huge Reveal During SDCC 2019 Panel

Paramount Pictures held their San Diego Comic Con Panel to kick off SDCC 2019 and as well as the surprise appearance by Tom Cruise to reveal the first official trailer for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ we also learned some more information for upcoming ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ such as confirming that it will indeed have a full R Rated Certificate when it releases

But the big surprise is that Edward Furlong, the original actor who played John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgement Day will return to play the older version of the character in the new film.

Terminator: Dark Fate is a direct sequel to Judgement day and will be ignoring every film released since which not means the return of Linda Hamilton in the role of Sarah Connor but having Edward Furlong return is more than just a fandom pleasing choice but just hammers home just what it means to make this film the sequel the franchise probably deserved to have all along.

In fact we have learned a bit more about Dark Fate thanks to an interview with Entertainment Weekly where director Tim Miller explains what makes this new sequel stand out from all the previous failed films:

“The first two movies really deal with time as a loop, what’s happening is the same thing that happened before and everybody is fighting to ensure that happens again and James Cameron had this lucky break that he only broke that rule at the end of Terminator 2 when Sarah destroys Cyberdyne, it’s the first thing that happened that hadn’t happened before, and so it was going to change the future — but no one knew how. And I don’t think the movies that came after it really explored that in a clean way like I believe we are, with true consequences, and it makes perfect sense for Sarah to be the one to face those consequences since they were her choices to begin with.”

The more and more I read about this new film,  the more faith I have in it as a sequel and it does sound as though Miller has gone back to basics instead of failed attempts to reuse the same formula of the story.

I am very excited to see more and after watching the special SDCC 2019 featurette video above, everything is looking “thumbs up” for Terminator Dark: Fate, due to land in Cinemas on November 1st 2019.

First Look at New Hero Suits for ArrowVerse Shows this Season

SDCC 2019 has opened its doors and as is now tradition with the ArrowVerse shows, Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive first look….almost….at the new hero suits for Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Batwoman.

Kicking things off where it all began and perhaps rather fitting as Arrow will come to an end with Season 8, it seems as though Oliver Queen is returning to his original “The Hood” look with a classic but improved look for his final season. I quite like this although it must be said that for all the hero’s that would normally be wearing a mask, these cover shots are not showing them.

…which does make it rather interesting for The Flash, as much has been reported that based on fan feedback from last season, the next Flash suit will indeed see a return of the ‘Chin Strap’ style Flash cowl which is more traditional for the suit. From this image it does look as though more gold lines have been added as well as a much softer looking material which to me at the very least, is a possible nod to the 90’s TV Flash suit which was more of a soft Velvet than leather and PVC of the modern show.

In the case of Batwoman, this is more of a better look at the suit Ruby Rose will wear for the new show to hit the CW ArrowVerse this year. The only real look we have seen was in last years major crossover event “Elseworlds” where we finally visited a Gotham City where Batman and Bruce Wayne have been missing for years. I do like the look of this suit, it is still close enough to the comic book suit whilst still being a fresh enough take for the first TV show to feature Batwoman.

I began by saying that we were ‘almost’ getting to see some new suits for the new seasons of ArrowVerse shows but with Supergirl, it is not quite the case. We can see that Melissa Benoist does in fact sport a brand new hair style for Supergirl this season with a fringe and bangs but other wise, this is the classic Supergirl suit that Melissa has worn since Season 1. Earlier this week however, Melissa did share a brand new suit via her own instagram and is perhaps the biggest change to any suit previously made on any of the shows.

The short skirt and tights have gone and now replaced with an all body suit though the knee boots have been kept as well as the original S Shield logo but the the new belt and it looks fantastic. As much as this is a stylish new look we can pretty much imagine how the new suit will be far more comfortable for Melissa with so many long and cold night suits which are a mantel of the ArrowVerse shows.

SDCC 2019 will no doubt reveal a lot more and possibly some trailers as the ArrowVerse shows fast pace their way to the biggest Crossover event yet in “Crisis on Infinite Earths” which has been teased since the very end of Elseworlds and with Arrow coming to a definitive end…..fans are on tenterhooks for more information!

MARVEL Confirms that Agents of SHIELD will End with Season 7

SDCC 2019 has kicked off an already plenty of news is coming out as the doors open in San Diego starting with the news that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will come to a final end with Season 7. The news was revealed by Deadline in an interview with MARVEL TV head guy Jeph Loeb.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byQWZLqgyys

The interview was very candid and actually confirmed much that fans have been speculating about since the death of MCU icon Agent Phil Coulson at the end of Season 5, which many fans felts would be the end of the show as following every season there would always be the dread that it would be cancelled. Loeb actually goes further and confirms that they did feel that the show was done but then the head writers went away and had a bit of a think and came up with an idea on how to end the show on their terms by laying the ground work in Season 6 before bringing it to a full end with Season 7.

Loeb responded: “The simplest answer is so that we can end on our terms, really. How many shows do you know that just suddenly ended, and you feel like, but wait a minute, there was more. Yes, in the chronology of this is we thought Season 5 was the end. If you go back and you look at the end of that season, it is written that way. Actually, the last episode of that season is called “The End.” Honestly, we thought we were turning out the lights and going home when we got a call from ABC that said, the material is so strong, do you think you have another season, do you think you have another 13 because we sort of like this idea of doing it again”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has always had a struggle really when it came to finding its own place in the MCU, just as Agent Carter did. At first it was a companion show that would continue the story of S.H.I.E.L.D. post the first Avengers film which fans will know, was actually the original death of Phil Coulson before he was resurrected for the TV show. It struggled to find its own rhythm for the first two seasons and relied heavily at times at the odd cameo story from the MCU such as guest starring Lady Sif following the events of Thor: The Dark World which also saw them visit London to do ‘Clean Up’ after the events of that film. It was really only when ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ changed the whole MCU did the show finally have free reign to let loose as it were.

But then it kind of just floated by and eventually existed outside of the MCU and never playing a part in any of the big moments including the Snap and the Blip seen with End Game and Spider-Man: Far From Home. It always bothered me that Coulson, who was the catalyst from bringing the Avengers together, some how remained under the rader once he came back to life and never interacted with any of the Avengers who also seemed to not know that he was no longer deceased.

But the show has a loyal fan base and the very fact that the cast and crew dug their heels in to get to a final 7th season is fairly remarkable, and to see them bowing out in their own way with a panned exit now that the MCU is on a break till the next phase of films are revealed is probably the most sensible way to wrap things up.

But first Season 6 has to finish, and going by the sizzle trailer below straight from SDCC 2019…..things are just getting interesting!

*Spoilers Below for the Rest of Season 6 – SDCC 2019 Sizzle Reel Trailer*

Jay and Silent Bob: Reboot *Red Band NSFW* Trailer Released

San Diego Comic Con 2019 (SDCC) is about to open its doors and kicking things off we have Kevin Smith releasing the very first NSFW Red Band trailer for ‘Jay and Silent Bob: Reboot’.

The stoner icons who first hit the screen 25 years ago in CLERKS are back! When Jay and Silent Bob discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them, the clueless duo embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again!

In Theaters: October 15, 2019.

My thoughts:

Just looking at this trailer as a fan of Kevin Smith’s films, I instantly get the sense that this is really a big old reunion and celebration of everyone who has ever been in a Kevin Smith production, even Ben Affleck has tweeted Kevin recently after many years of them not communicating at all so my guess would be that we could see him in this film with Kevin.

Now I can also see where the negativity will come in with this potentially in that this is a remake almost of ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back’ by reusing the same plot almost and the humour is very….intriguing to see how this film will play in 2019 with humour still very much of a decade ago. But with Kevin’s recent heart attack, I do feel that this is a celebration of his life’s work and this film will no doubt be a hit with his fans but I hope it will be seen like that and not a lazy recycling effort.

Streets of Rage 4 Soundtrack Details Revealed

0

Publisher and co-developer Dotemu (Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, Windjammers 1 and 2) with co-developers Lizardcube (Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap) and Guard Crush Games (Streets of Fury) today revealed that Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, the original Streets of Rage series’ incomparable composers, will be joined by an all-star ensemble in contributing brand new tracks for the Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack.

In a new video released by Dotemu, Yūzō Koshiro and fellow Streets of Rage composer Motohiro Kawashima detail their direction and goals in making an impactful, unforgettable score for Streets of Rage 4. Filmed earlier this year during BitSummit, the group discusses a range of subjects, from channeling the thumping club anthems fans loved in the original games to crafting sounds that weren’t heard in the previous entries.

Revealing that Yūzō Koshiro and studio Ancient pitched a sequel to Streets of Rage at one point, the video also candidly explores some of the internal pressures that the original Streets of Rage team was facing during development while directly competing with Capcom’s Street Fighter II, which at the time was being scored by Yoko Shimomura. The legendary Shinomura is revealed below as lending her musical mastery to the upcoming soundtrack as well.

Thanks to the help of Brave Wave Productions, a music label that brings the work of Japanese game musicians to global audiences, Streets of Rage 4 will feature original music from:

  • Yūzō Koshiro (Streets of Rage 12 & 3Ys I & IISonic the HedgehogThe Revenge Shinobi,Shenmue I & IISuper Smash Bros. Brawl for 3DS and Wii U & UltimateActRaiser 1 & 2)

“Among these names stand some of the most legendary and memorable musical architects in video game history,” said Cyrille Imbert, executive producer of Streets of Rage 4. “Since we first announced the title last fall, fans have been asking who will be involved in the game’s soundtrack as it is a vital element to the Streets of Rage games. We are thrilled to confirm this world-class lineup of musical talent for Streets of Rage 4.”

Streets of Rage 4 will be the first entry to the core series in 25 years, standing as Axel and Blaze’s glorious return to serving up side-scrolling beatdowns. With lush hand-drawn animations, new combat abilities, and fresh tracks from an amazing team of composers, Streets of Rage 4 will be a masterful tribute to and revitalisation of the classic action fans adore.

More information and surprises about the Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack will be revealed in the future.

New ‘Mercernaries’ Game Mode Comes to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands Today

0

Ubisoft has announced a free brand new game mode for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Mercenaries, which will be available from July 18th . Mercenaries is an eight-player free-for-all PvPvE gameplay experience. The objective is to call for rescue, locate and reach the extraction point, then be the first to board the chopper. The new game mode will be available on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows PC

At the beginning of the match, the extraction point is unknown and players will have no ranged weapons, gear or items. Players will need to locate and activate radio transmitters to shrink the possible extract zone on the map. In the meantime, players will fight to be the first to gain intel on transmitter locations while looting gear, weapons and money. After the first player has activated three transmitters, the chopper will head to the extraction point and once landed, the location will be revealed to everyone. The first player to fill their extraction gauge and board the chopper wins.

Mercenaries mode introduces a wealth of new mechanics including:

  • Looting for Gear: Players start the game just with a melee weapon and will need to find the best gear, weapons and consumables to fight the Unidad forces and enemy players. If a player dies, they will lose all of the loot gathered and start at square one when they respawn.
  • Armor: Mercenaries mode will feature a new health and armor system. Based on the gear players pick up, an armor bar will appear. This bar will absorb a percentage of damage based on the penetration capability of the opponent’s weapon.
  • Health: If players are hit by a weapon that deals penetration damage, they will bleed and gradually lose a percentage of their health. If they are injured, they will be able to loot three different types of healing items to get back into fighting shape: medikits, bandages and syringes.
  • Destructible Doors: Destructible doors can be opened with CQC, behind which players may find intel, loot, or cover to aid them in their fight. Players will need to think tactically about when to use this as opponents will be able to hear the breaking doors if they are close by.

Additionally, as a thank-you to players, the Lone Wolf Costume will be given as a reward after completing their first match. Along with the Lone Wolf Costume, players will be able to receive a series of rewards based on their wins.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands also has a Rewards Program available to all players until September 27th, 2019. Jump back into the Wildlands, complete the set challenges, and redeem special rewards in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. All rewards will also unlock unique ‘Memories of the Wildlands’ dialogues. More information can be found at: ghostrecon.com/RewardsProgram

Developed by Ubisoft Paris,* Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is a military-shooter which can be played in up to four-player co-op or single-player. Players have total freedom to accomplish their missions how they want and watch as the world reacts to their actions. Players can choose to move quietly in the night, go in hot at dawn or work together to execute a sync shot that takes out enemies in one fell swoop. Each choice has a consequence, and players must improvise or adapt their plans to ensure the completion and success of each mission. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost War allows players to live the ultimate co-op experience in 4v4 modes. Featuring a growing roster of classes, maps and modes, Ghost War focuses on teamwork, strategy and tense tactical engagements.
