App Update: WordPress for iOS updated to version 3.6 with a new user experience

The WordPress app for the iPhone and iPad has been updated to version 3.6.

It’s easy to manage your WordPress blog or site from your iOS device. With WordPress for iOS, you can moderate comments, create or edit posts and pages, and add images or videos with ease. All you need is a WordPress.com blog or a self-hosted WordPress.org site running 2.9.2 or higher.

Asus Announces the Transformer Pad Infinity with 4K Video Playback via HDMI

Asus has refreshed its Transformer Pad Infinity device, introducing an enhanced display and chipset. The Android tablet now boasts a screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, a 299ppi density and 10-point multi-touch support, superior to Apple’s latest iPad.

Asus has also introduced a 1.9GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 4K video playback via HDMI to the 10-inch slate.

The latest model has a 5-megapixel camera on the rear, a 1.2-megapixel shooter on the front, and 32GB of internal memory on board.

Other hardware features include support for microSD, USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0.

Asus is yet to announce a release date for the new Transformer Pad Infinity, but it is expected to arrive later this year bearing a price tag of around £260.

Vine Lands on Google Play Today

Twitter is launched its Vine video application for Android devices. The software landed on Google Play today (3rd June ) in a move that sees it go multi-platform roughly four months after its iOS debut.

The Android version of Vine launches with many of the same features as its iOS counterpart, but front-facing camera support, hashtags, search, mentions and Facebook integration will be added in the coming weeks.

Twitter has pledged to regularly update the Android edition of the software to bring it in line with the build available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Exclusive features of the Android app include the ability to zoom on devices that support it and improved offline browsing.

Vine is now available for tablets and smartphones running Android 4.0 and above today.

  • Fixed an Issue in Season 1 where viewing sponsorship objectives cause the game to hang.
  • During season 3 in the Haruna Kyojin  drift event at Okutama the AI would become overly aggressive and ram into the back of a player.
  • Fixed a graphics issue where the logo of lightweight cars does not appear with the other Tier 3 car classes.
  • If the player selects the Technology sponsor objective – “Lead all laps of a race event” they will find then when they lead all laps of any race event that the sponsor objective does not complete, this has now been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue where upon completing the game and selecting New Driver from the options menu, the game went to a dead state on a loading screen upon completing season 1 (after playing a video at the wrong place).
  • Fixed a splitscreen issue which was caused when the player uses an instant flashback then pauses the game and restarts the race. They will notice that the AI will take control of their vehicle once the races starts.
  • Fixed an audio bug that would cause sound to become badly distorted during any race where music plays.
  • Fixed an issue where the background cars in the 2nd and 3rd garages would have drivers just sat in them.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in RaceNet global challenges not updating accurately.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from signing up to RaceNet in game.
  • Fixed a graphical error that was present when removing upgrades and reverting to the default livery.
  • Fixed an issue where in Touge if a player drove through a ghosted player that has just flashbacked they will be unfairly disqualified.
  • Fixed an audio issue that caused short burst of engine audio to be present when quitting out at the start of the Divizero time attack race.
  • Fixed numerous corner cutting errors on Indianapolis.
  • Miscellaneous: many various tracks / car geometry, stability, string and difficulty balancing fixes.

Mortal Kombat Scorpions Comes to Injustice – Gods Among Us

Today Warner Bros released a new video showing off the Scorpion in Injustice which was designed by DC legend Jim Lee, and costs 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and £3.99 on PlayStation 3. The Wii U version wasn’t mentioned, but publisher Warner Bros. has said the fighting game’s DLC will be released on Nintendo’s console at some point in the summer

Does a ‘Halo’ Website Registrations Hints at E3 Announcement

A series of Halo domain names have been registered by Microsoft. Spotted by Fusible, Microsoft has registered ‘SpartanAssault.net’, ‘HaloSpartanAssault.com’ and ‘Halo-SpartanAssault.com’ with long-standing client MarkMonitor.

Acer’s first phablet device, the Liquid 1 is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and comes running the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

The hybrid also features a 5.7-inch HD 1280 x 720 display, an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, a 2-megapixel snapper on the front and Acer’s Float user interface pre-installed. The Liquid S1 is scheduled for Q3 and is expected to cost in the region of £300.

Beyond – Two Souls Date Revealed

Beyond: Two Souls has been officially dated for release on Friday 11th October 2013 in the UK.

The game, which stars Ellen Page as a woman with supernatural powers, will be released in North America three days earlier on 8th October.

The story follows Page’s Jodie Holmes through several stages of her life, from a young girl to an adult living on the streets.

Willem Dafoe also stars as government scientist Nathan Dawkins, who runs tests on Holmes’s unusual powers.

Acer presents the next-generation 13.3-inch Aspire S7Ultrabook. “We designed the S7 to be the best touch Ultrabook  in the world, bar none,” said Jim Wong, Acer Corporate President. “We listened  carefully to users to find substantial ways to make it even better.” The re-engineered  S7 delivers improved battery life of up to 7 hours, a 33% increase from its  predecessor. Its new light-sensing EL backlit keyboard is also refined, with a deeper  keystroke for more natural and comfortable typing. Plus, thanks to 2nd generation Acer TwinAir cooling technology, the noise at maximum load is more  than 20% lower than the previous S7, keeping the system quiet and cool.

Acer’s new S7 supports Intel WiDi  technology, which allows users to extend their laptop screen to a TV or big  screen without a cable. With this feature, S7 users can stream video on their  living room screen and open a new window on their computer and to work, bringing  a new dimension to multitasking.

The Aspire S7-392 features Acer’s  first 10-point touch WQHD display  will also be available on the S7, with IPS  technology squeezing a very impressive 2,560×1,440 resolution into a 13.3-inch  screen. In addition, IPS technology shows consistent and accurate colors at viewing  angles up to 170 degrees. Taking advantage of the touch benefits offered by  Windows 8, the touch-enabled screen on the S7 can be opened a full 180°, and  the image orientation reversed with a simple hotkey combination for easy  touch-and-show sharing.

Acer today announced the launch of the new 13.3″ Aspire S3 Ultrabook at Computex Taipei. The S3 has inherited some of the industry-leading design and innovations of the Aspire S7, making it an impressively stylish and productive PC.

Acer Iconia W3 is now Official a Windows 8 Tablet

Just over a month ago, an eight-inch Acer tablet running Windows 8 mysteriously showed up on Amazon, only to be removed from the site a few hours later.

Today Acer is finally making the Iconia W3 official, Acer is confirming that all of the specs listed on Amazon were correct: it weighs 1.10 pounds, measures 0.45 inches thick, features an 8.1-inch 1280 x 800 LCD display, and is powered by an Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail CPU. Storage is handled by 32GB and 64GB of flash memory, which is further expandable thanks to the W3’s microSD slot. A $79.99 full-sized keyboard can also turn the device into a tiny Windows 8 laptop (sans mouse, although one can be added) that can run all of your classic Windows apps, making it an intriguing option for students and others looking for a small dual-purpose device. Even more so with the complementary bundled copy of MS Office.

Acer points out that the W3 is actually the first eight-inch tablet to run the full version of Windows 8. The suggested retail price for the W3 is $379, with Pre-orders from tomorrow (Tuesday 4th June) but no date for when the Acer Iconia W3 will ship.

Samsung Announces Galaxy Tab 3 in Two more sizes for the Family

Today Samsung has announced that its Galaxy Tab 3 will be available in two additional size variants this summer. The South Korean tech giant has unveiled 8-inch and 10.1-inch models of the Android tablet as alternatives to the 7-inch version.

The 8-inch Galaxy Tab 3 is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual Core processor and comes with a 1280 x 800 screen capable of displaying images in 189PPI.

Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system comes preinstalled, as does a range of Samsung’s own software such as S Translator and the ChatON messaging service.

Samsung has included a 5-megapixel camera on the rear of the device, and a front-facing snapper offering 1.3 megapixels.

The larger 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 3 runs off a 1.6 GHz Dual Core processor and comes with a 1280 x 800 screen offering 149PPI. A 3-megapixel camera resides on the rear and a 1.3-megapixel shooter on the front.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 3 line will debut in the UK later this year, with pricing and specific release dates yet to be confirmed.
