Sony have just announced that the PS4 will not make use of used games restrictions. Following in the wake of controversy surrounding Microsoft’s choice to restrict used games and game sharing on Xbox One, Sony has finally announced that it won’t be following in their footsteps.
Jack Tretton announced the news to a cheering and whooping crowd at Sony’s E3 conference. With a grin on his face he went on to explain that the console also “won’t stop working” if you don’t sign in periodically and disc-based games “won’t require any authentication”.
He also announced that your existing PS+ memberships will carry across to PS4, meaning you will be entitled to the service on the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita at one price.
