With Christmas less than 2 months away, we take a closer look at Outgunned Superheroes from Free League.

Outgunned Superheroes is bringing the cinematic action of Outgunned to superhero stories. Designed by Two Little Mice and published by Free League Publishing, the standalone tabletop RPG lets players create their own heroes and face villains threatening their city, the world, or the entire universe. The launch lineup includes the rulebook, the introductory campaign Mission Dossier: King of Ashes, the mini-expansion collection Action Flicks – Volume 3, and a gamemaster screen.

Players start by choosing a Role and Trope to define their hero, with more ways to customise their character during play. The game uses Outgunned’s Director’s Cut system: roll a pool of six-sided dice and look for pairs, three-of-a-kind, and other matching sets instead of adding up totals.

All the basic rules are included, so no other rulebook is required. Players can also use the original Outgunned Core Rulebook for additional mechanics and options.

The lineup includes:

Outgunned Superheroes: The standalone rulebook, with everything needed to play Outgunned as a superhero.

Outgunned Action Flicks – Volume 3: Ten mini-expansions and a bonus module covering killer robots, kaiju, time travel, supervillains, heroic animals, and more.

Mission Dossier: King of Ashes: An introductory superhero campaign with heroes and a villain included to help groups get started.

Outgunned Super Screen: A four-panel gamemaster screen with rules reference tables for Outgunned Superheroes.

Outgunned Superheroes and its accompanying products are available now through the Free League online store. Purchases of Outgunned Superheroes and Mission Dossier: King of Ashes include PDFs delivered through DriveThruRPG.

These would make a great Christmas present for the gamer in your life (or even for yourself).
