What’s in the box?

The box contains the Luma K10 Apex Dash Cam, Rear Camera, OBD Cable (3m), Rear Camera Cable (6m), a Crowbar (trim tool), an Electrostatic Sticker and a User Manual.

Final Thoughts

The Luma K10 Apex is a really nice looking dash cam. It feels solid and well made, and the cooling fins on the body make it look a bit more premium than most dash cams out there.

Installation is fairly straightforward. The supplied OBD cable plugs straight into your car’s OBD-II port, so there is no need to mess around with the fuse box. That is definitely a plus if you would rather not start pulling your car apart. The included trim tool makes tucking the cables away behind the panels quick and easy. The rear camera cable is a generous 6m, so it should reach the back of most cars without any problems.

Footage from the front camera is really sharp. The 4K resolution means you can pick out the details that matter, such as number plates and road signs. The STARVIS 2 sensor comes into its own at night, keeping footage clear even on poorly lit roads. The 2K rear camera does a good job too and is a big step up from the rear cameras you often get bundled with dash cams.

Being OBD powered also means you get 24-hour parking monitoring, so the camera keeps an eye on your car even when you are not around. Just bear in mind that the OBD cable needs to be connected for this to work.

Controlling the camera is easy. You can tap away on the 2.8-inch touchscreen or use the smart control dial on the side. The dial is a great idea and makes scrolling through menus and footage really simple, rather than jabbing at a small screen.

The Wi-Fi 6 connection is quick, and getting footage onto your phone with the app takes seconds rather than minutes. That makes sharing a clip really easy, whether it’s for an insurance claim or just a nice drive. GPS is built in as well, so your location and speed are recorded with your footage.

Fanttik have clearly thought about heat too. The chimney-effect airflow and segmented cooling fins help the camera cope with temperatures from -20°C up to 70°C, which is handy for a car left sitting in the sun all day.

The Fanttik Luma K10 Apex 4K Dashcam is available now priced around $319.99.
