Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is the ideal game if you love simple but fun arcade racers. It is the perfect title for younger gamers as it rarely tests you. Alternatively, if you want something that is fast-paced and casual to play, this will tick a few boxes. Despite its repetitive nature, I enjoyed the vibrancy, varied cars, different races, and unique locations to explore.
Milestone S.r.l. have developed and published this arcade racer. It is a change of pace from their normal, ultra-realistic racing affairs. Moreover, it is a single-player, couch, and online up to 4-player experience. It is simple to understand, and it is this design that will turn some people off. However, if you want something that can be picked up and played, this will be right up your street.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush offers no story.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush doesn’t offer a traditional story. Instead, the gameplay is broken down over 4 different islands. Each one is run by a powerful Rush Master. These insanely quick opponents must be defeated before you move on. This is the depth of the action, and it is paper-thin, to say the least. This wasn’t ideal, but my kids loved the straightforward ideas, easy racing, and almost guaranteed success.
I liked the solo action as I enjoyed the open-world driving and the secrets I discovered. Furthermore, there are unique missions to test your skills alongside the racing elements. You’ll get to smash up the environment, earn XP through stunts, and discover a host of shortcuts to show off your arcade skills. These add some drama to an otherwise rudimentary affair.

Different events.
The open world layer is a great way to waste some time. However, if you like to focus on progress and you have a competitive edge, there are many types of events to test your skills. Traditional racing, drag races, time attacks, checkpoint challenges, elimination races, and much more await. Sadly, you’ll pretty much destroy everyone unless you have the eye-hand coordination of a toddler. This was unfortunate, as it makes it far too easy.
On top of this, there is a track builder option if you have a creative streak. This wasn’t something I experimented too much with, but I watched my kids make some weird and wonderful creations. It flowed nicely, and each part of it was intuitive. Additionally, you can share your creations and access other online tracks as part of the base game.
The multiplayer action was where this thrived. It was much better to take on human players, as this added a much-needed layer of difficulty. Hot Wheels Infinite Rush uses online action via cross-play or split-screen for a retro and family-fun gaming session.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush will make your eyes water.
Despite the simple action, the developer has overpowered your senses with loud noises and extremely vibrant colours. The world is big, and it runs reasonably well. I experienced some frame rate issues, but this was during heavy traffic moments. Other than this, it was smooth, and I enjoyed the varied islands, the interesting racecourses, and the ridiculous number of collectable cars.
The audio was repetitive, but it worked with the arcade theme. The engine noises are decent as they deliver nice growling, popping, and humming for each of the loud, beastly rides. Sadly, the music isn’t as enjoyable. The small pool of tunes is repetitive and becomes tiresome. When a game focuses on open-world exploration, you’d expect more variety as you explore freely.

Loose controls.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush offers a typical arcade control system. Therefore, it is easy to pick up and master, but it is sloppy as hell. The cars roll and slip into corners as you drift and slide. Moreover, the braking feels heavy, and the acceleration is unnaturally fast. This suits the theme, but it can be a little jarring.
Replay value is great if you love multiplayer action or collectables. There are around 150 cars to find and collect and loads of races to grind out. This makes things somewhat repetitive, but it is ideal if you enjoy the Hot Wheels series and simple racing titles.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is good but not mind-blowing.
This is the most ambitious Hot Wheels game to date; therefore, I expected some issues. Most of the ideas are good, but the execution isn’t perfect. There are some minor performance problems, and it is unfortunately repetitive. Moreover, it is far too easy, which is a shame. Still, it works for its intended audience, and I recommend buying it here! Can you defeat every Rush Master? Select your car, pick your race, and show the world your skills.
