Final Thoughts
The UGREEN Revodok Maxidok 17-in-1 Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station is the kind of dock you buy when you’re done choosing between ports, between speed, between storage expansion and display flexibility.
Where many docking stations look fine, the 17-in-1 Maxidok has a compact cube form factor and a dark grey aluminium shell trimmed with copper-coloured accents. It looks like something that belongs next to your Apple device. The unit is small enough to avoid dominating your workspace yet heavy enough to feel like it cost what it costs. Cooling is handled by a combination of passive venting on the sides and an internal active fan that spins up under heavier loads — quiet enough in normal use that you’ll only notice it when pushing the dock hard.
It has seventeen ports (yes seventeen) comprising of three Thunderbolt 5 ports (one upstream, two downstream), three USB-C at 10Gbps, three USB-A at 10Gbps, a DisplayPort 2.1 output, SD and microSD card readers, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, and a trio of audio jacks front and rear. Front-facing ports include the card readers and power button, while the majority of the connectivity is on the rear of the dock there are useful connectivity options on the front too!
The features that really sets this dock above all the rest it the M.2 NVMe slot underneath. Accommodating drives up to 8TB, it adds permanent fast-access storage expansion for laptops that are short of space.
Thunderbolt 5’s 120Gbps delivers on its promise for storage and daisy-chaining; the experience is visibly faster than Thunderbolt 4, particularly with modern NVMe drives. Display support reaches a single 8K or dual 6K outputs.
If you are looking for a single dock that really does do it all, including adding storage, then this really is the one dock to rule them all.
The UGREEN Revodok Maxidok 17-in-1 Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station is available now priced around £419.99.
